Game Plan
You're listening to w M and H. Command God, don't get so greenly
mattselthank you, Welcome everybody, Happy Friday. Here we are. It is
Matt Connorton Unleashed and we are live from the studios of w M n H
ninety five point three FM excuse me in glorious downtown Manchester, New Hampshire,
also on Comcast Channel six if you're in Manchester, and hello to ol of
our online listeners across the nation and around the globe. You can go to
my website Matt Connorton dot com for all of your live streaming options, social
media links, contact info, show archives, etc. Et cetera. Today
is Friday, October twenty seven, twenty twenty three, so nice to have
you all with me. And yes I am live. It is legitimately Friday,
October twenty seven, twenty twenty three. I was not here yesterday.
Yesterday we had to run a best of because I had to do an event
in Providence, Providence, Rhode Island, and it was great I was hired
to do. For those of you who don't know, I am a certified
hypnotherapist slash hypnotist. You know in some states I cannot call myself a hypnotherapist.
I cannot use that term. There's regulations about it. I can only
say hypnotist. I won't get in all that. But here in New Hampshire
I can call myself whatever because it's New Hampshire. But anyway, yeah,
I got hired to do this corporate event with a real estate professionals. And
by the way, if Charlie Muller from Semper Home Loans happens to be listening,
or anyone I met at the event happens to be tuning in. I
met a lot of great people there. Hello and thank you. I had
a wonderful time yesterday doing that. I got to got to get up in
front of there were probably close to one hundred people there. It was a
really nice place, Semper Home Loans in Providence, Rhode Island. And yeah,
I got to hypnotize everybody, try to get them motivated and focused and
you know all that good stuff. I won't get into the whole thing.
There will be video though, Charlie tells me that he will be sending me
video of the event. They recorded everything, and no, it was probably
to be honest with you, of all the events like that, that I've
done, you know, because typically I see most clients just one on one
privately. But I but I've always done group of events, and I've always
been open to you know, if somebody wants to hire me to go do
their do a corporate event with their sales team or whomever. You know,
I'm always or sometimes you know, people might have want to get a bunch
of people together to all be hypnotized at once to quit smoking or for weight
loss or whatever it may be. But of any kind of group setting that
I've ever been in, I think that was the most fun in terms of
working with a big group of people. Obviously, out of the hundred people
that were there, not everyone in the room participated. But it's funny.
I was a little bit nervous there because you know, they had an open
bar and there was food and everything. But Charlie Muller, who runs that
branch of Semperfile Semperifi, I keep doing that. The stand up comedian who
went on at the end of the night kept calling it Semperfile loans, except
he was doing it on purpose, no Semper home loans. Charlie said that,
you know, he was going to ask, he was gonna basically shut
off the bar for about forty five minutes for my portion and was going to
ask everyone to be quiet. And I remember feeling a little bit nervous about
that because people seem to be really enjoying the open bar. Not that I
saw anyone intoxicated. I really did not, but you know, but just
I'm looking around, I'm like, I don't know, are people really going
to be into this? But it turned out they were. They were very
much into it. Everyone was cool, and I talked to a lot of
people afterwards who really enjoyed it, you know, many of whom we're experiencing
hypnosis for the first time. And one real estate agent say to me,
yeah, I noticed he slipped in Not everyone will know the reference, but
he said, I noticed he slipped in a lot of ericsnian NLP, which
is neuural linguistic programming. I noticed a lot of that in there, and
that's that's always helpful when dealing with salespeople. So I respect what you do.
No, that was really nice. I met some really great people.
I'm met a business coach named James Rocca, who might very well be listening
because he said he was going to check out the show, and I think
he meant it. He was there when I first got there. We were
we were early birds, we were kind of we kind of got there before
anybody else. And I asked him, I said, should I I brought
a tie? Should I wear it? He said no, no, it's
business casuals. I said, okay, but no, it was a great
time. So so again, thank you to those guys for putting that on
and for inviting me to do that, and uh what I'd love to I'd
love to do more of those. I mean, it's very rewarding working with
clients one on one. But boy, I'll tell you you know I've I've
had and and some people know of course, if you know, if you
see my social media posts on my my personal Facebook page. Not I don't
put that on unleashed, but on my personal page, you might know.
You know I've been under some uh some stress to say the least, but
you know, some some problems. But you know, life has bumps.
The road of life has bumps in the road. I know someone who says
it refers to people having problems as riding a unicycle with no seat down the
bumpy road of life. But it's kind of a dumb saying. So that's
the only time you'll hear me say that anyway, that's a little inside but
if you know, you know, but uh no, it's it's it's been
a little uh. I've had some challenges, so uh man to be able
to go and do that event last night was a big, a big shot
in the arm for me. It really uh helped me uh kind of get
some of the mojo back, I think so so so I'm really grateful for
that too, and just helping people. I love helping people, So so
that was that was a lot of fun. Actually it's funny too. And
then we'll move on in a second, I promise. But at the end
of it, at the end of my portion, at the end of my
presentation, you know, I bring everybody out of hypnosis, and I,
uh, the rush that I got from that was not unlike the same feeling
I would get being on stage play with bands. You know, I've been
in a lot of bands over the years, and there's certainly a rush from
you know, like when you're on stage. Any musicians listening know exactly what
I'm talking about. When you're on stage and you finish a set and you
feel really good about it, and the audience is into it, and you
know that you really captured their attention and they like what you do. You
know, there's quite a rush that comes from that. It's like wow,
you know that that exchange of energy is pretty intense, and I really I
kind of felt it on that same level last night at the end of my
hypnosis session with everybody in that room. It was kind of that same feeling.
It was like Wow. Part of that might have been just being in
Providence because one of the bands I used to be and we used to play
a lot of shows in Providence, but that was the first time ever doing
that in Providence. But yeah, it's cool to be back in that city
too. I'll tell you what. Though, when you're going into the city,
those exits come up quick. Yeah. I'm pretty sure the GP had
to redirect me at one point because it's like, you know, you get
into the city and it's like, uh, let's see, I'm looking for
my exit and uh oh uh, there it goes. I'll get the next
one. But no, great, great time. Like I said, there
will be video for anyone who wants to see it. There. They had
someone there professionally shooting everything and Dave Roca the I'm sorry I keep doing that.
I keep calling him Dave James Roka, the business coach, business strategy
guy, whatever you call him. He was amazing. I really enjoyed.
Uh, actually I enjoyed talking with him more than I think. I genuinely
learned some things from our conversation. In fact, I know I did.
And he gave a presentation and he had slides and everything. I didn't have
any slides. I just had like, uh, you know, there was
stuff on this big screen behind me, but it wasn't slides. Charlie,
who was putting on the event, he said, do you want slides?
You have slides? I was like, I don't. I don't have any.
I've never had slides. Slides of what I said, as long as
everyone can hear me, as long as you have a good microphone, everyone
can hear me. I'm good. And then uh, and then the comedian.
Oh ah, I'm blanking on the comedian's name. I'll have to when
we take the break later. I'll look him up because he was really good.
Was it Brad Pierce? Oh? I think it was Brad Pierce.
There it is, Yeah, look up Brad Pearce. He's from Warwick,
Rhode Island, and he sounds like he's from Warwick, Rhode Island. He's
really got the uh, he's really got that. He sounds like he's from
Warwick. And Uh. Mike from Queen City Cabinetry. He's in the chat
room. He knows what I'm talking about. Mike. If you heard him
talk and you had to guess where he was from, you would guess he
was from Warwick, Rhode Island. Mike's from Warwick. I mean, Mike's
from Rhode Island. Originally, I don't know if he's from Warwick, but
you would know. You wouldn't just know, Oh my hometown. I'll be
damned, Okay, So you would definitely know. If I introduce you to
Brad Peerce and you heard Brad speak just a couple of words, you'd say,
Yep, he's from Warwick, Rhode Island. Yeah. He was amazing,
very very funny, very funny. U. So anyway, so that
was that was my evening. We've got a great show for you today.
A quick programming note though we do not have We do not have today.
Eric Pilcher's classic film review. Eric had An idea to delay it until the
thirty first, which is, of course Halloween, because the subject of this
particular film review is Halloween, the movie Halloween. So Eric said, can
we just delay it until Halloween and run it? Then I said, yeah,
that's fine. So we don't have Eric's review today, but we have
plenty of other things to do. And then when we get into the second
hour, we've got a great band coming in. Ty Charles has been on
the show before. I forget with what band. He's one of these guys
is in multiple bands, but he's coming in with paragrin dream. I don't
know why I have trouble with that word. I know I exactly, I
know exactly why I have trouble with that word. It's just not a word
to say a lot. Paragrin dream, paragrine, paragrine, got it,
peagrine. I gotta make sure I've got it for when they're here and I
introduced them peregrine dream is. I keep on wanting to say paragon, but
it's peregrine. Maybe it's peagreen. Maybe I'm saying it wrong. It looks
like it could be pronounced either way, but I think it's peagrine. I
think I've heard the word peagrine before. I have no idea what it means.
It's probably like some weird color that only uh, interior designers know what
the hell it is. Oh, it's that wall over there. Yeah,
that looks Uh that would look good if we should paint that peregrine. I
don't know anyway. Peregrine Dream will be here in the second hour. They've
got a brand new studio track, and we have a world radio premiere of
that studio track which we will share with you. And they're going to be
performing live in studio. So really looking forward to that. So they will
be here with us in the second hour. Uh, if you would like
to be with us right now, you certainly can. Uh. Six oh
three two five six seven is a studio line. Six three two five oh
six seven. You can also text me it's six nine one seven four four
seven six. You can email me Matt at mattconnorton dot com. You can
interact into opine in the Facebook live chat what am I forgetting? Oh,
and you can find me on social media at Matt Connerton. I made a
mistake there. I put things in a different order than I usually do.
I'm usually on autopilot with that. If I try to change it up,
I screwing myself up. That's Friday and uh and of course uh you can
give us a call on the studio line at six oh three two five oh
six oh seven, six oh three two five oh six oh seven. Speaking
of Friday, it is my favorite day of the week here at WM and
H. It is my long day here and I do love it so because
not only do I get to do this show and hang out with you Find
people until six pm, but then I'm back tonight from eight to eleven pm
for retro Spectrum Radio with Polly C and I do. See Paul in the
Facebook live chat. He says, hello, big fan, join us tonight
for our three year anniversary episode and Halloween episode, all crammed into one fun
filled episode of Retrospectrum Radio at eight pm Eastern tonight. Do join us,
Yes, do join us. That will be a lot of fun. I
can't believe it's been three years now. The actual show, Retrospectrum Radio,
similar to this show, goes way back predates WMNH ninety five point three FM,
actually, but it's been so you can you can go online and find
even older episodes of RSR. But tonight will be the three year anniversary of
Retrospectrum Radio being here at WM and H can't believe it's been three years,
just gone in the blink of an eye. But I do love my Fridays.
I get to, you know, Friday night, I get to hang
out with poly C and DJ Steve and Mike from Queen City Cabinetry. Twenty
ten, Yes, Paul says, twenty ten, thank you is when Retrospectrum
Radio originally started. Let's say hello to everybody in the Facebook lapchat and then
we'll get into some stuff. There's some big news regards in the New Hampshire
primary. I'm a little bit surprised that this has played out the way that
it has, but we'll look at it. Eric Pilcher joins us in the
Facebook live chat. Of course, Eric does the Classic Film Reviews as I
mentioned, and we'll have his review of the film Halloween on Halloween. But
he also mentioned yesterday was the speaking of anniversaries. Yesterday was the anniversary of
the Classic Film Reviews two year anniversary of Classic Film Reviews here on Matt Connorton
Unleashed. So that is wonderful. Jenny, of course, is in the
Facebook clive chat and says shilloam peeps. Jay Fed joins us from the great
state of Vermont says good afternoon everyone. Eric said, this group has a
late nineties early two thousand vibe. I like it. I assume you're referring
to dark Waves. I played two songs of recent guests that we've had on
the show. So I played what did I play? Greatest Thing You've Never
Seen from the Coda Smart who is here with us earlier in the week,
Just amazing? And I also played dark Waves from the band Sunset Electric they
were here? Were they also here this week? Or was that last week?
It all blurs together, my friends, It all blurs together. But
yeah, a couple of great couple of great tracks. And like I said
later on in the show, at the top of the hour, you're going
to get to hear the brand new track from Peregrin Dream. Hey, I
said at that time without stumbling on it. Excellent. So let's see Carol's
the Warwitz is in the Facebook live chat. Hello Carol, Ray Coates says
a loving energy and positive vibes from over the pond. Yeah, Ray's been
on the show a couple of times now, very very talented, and he
will be back next month. I think I want to say it's November ninth.
I'm not sure. I don't have it right in front of me,
but always always love talking with Ray Texas. Mike is in the Facebook live
chat and says, listening while either Extreme or Godsmack sound check for tonight's show
at this new arena. Ah, that's tonight. I love Extreme, big
Extreme fan, not so much God Smack. I like the music. I
was never a fan of Solly's vocals for whatever reason, just never connected with
me. Melanie Liberty from the Great State of Vermont joins us and says,
hey guys, Hello Melanie. Charmaine Davis Elliott joins us and says, Happy
Friday everyone, Hello Charmaine. Rob die On. Of course, Rob is
an important part of the WM and H family. He has his own show
here called Through the Stage Door, and he does a weekly segment on the
morning show name That Tune and an entertainment report every Thursday morning. Hello Rob,
let's see. Eric Street says, can you do a Rhode Island impression?
I cannot, but if you tune into retrospectrum radio tonight, assuming that
Mike is with us, you can hear how a real Rhode Islander speaks.
Although I don't feel that Mike's that Mike's accent is particularly thick. But Brad
Pierce, the comedian who was at the event last night, had a very
very heavy Like I said, you would immediately know he was from Warwick,
Rhode Island. Miriam Banish joins us since this Happy Friday, thank you.
Miriam J. Fed says, oh, this is regarding Eric's reviews. What
he never wants to do. The reviews all start sending mine again. Matt,
Well, a little competition, you know, it can be a good
thing. Let's see. Eric Pilcher says radio broadcasting was set back centuries last
night. Matt care to discuss now, Because we don't talk about that guy
when he's not unless he actually calls another show, we don't talk about that
particular individual. But although I will say this, that particular individual was bragging
last night with his little podcast. He calls it an internet radio show.
We don't even use the term internet radio anymore. That's very sort of twenty
fourteen when he does that. But anyway, he was he was talking about
how he was bragging about how it's his first show back in four years and
he was so happy to be back on the air after four years. And
I'm I'm listening to him and I'm thinking, wasn't he on like a year
ago doing his show that he had a bunch of stuff go wrong? But
he was just doing his show a year ago. Oh, Polly c had
a suggestion, Paul loves my impressions. But who is this? Hi,
Welcome to Matt Connorton, unleashed. Who's this? Praise Gez. This is
father Bruno. I have not heard from you in years. Oh my god,
my father is going to be very very happy when he hears this.
I don't know if you know this, but my father, Martin, he's
a very big fan of yours. My father, Yes, he loves Father
Bruno. Well I know your father Bruno. Yes, this is surreal.
It's been so long since I've heard from you. Are you still at the
Vatican? It seems like yesterday, right, Well, actually it does seem
like yesterday in the sense that many of your previous phone calls on the show
are included in some of our best of episodes, So yes, it does
seem like yesterday. But this is amazing. How are you father? You
know matt I left the Vatican, were no longer shining the shoes of the
pope. He embarrassed to me, and I don't iron this quotes anymore.
It's all over, it's done. Well, what happened. I just got
sick of being humiliated by this puffed up pope. You know, I can't
do it anymore. So I decided I'm going to run for Prime Minister of
Italy because Italy's in a lot of trouble, now, you know, that's
right. I didn't know that. I didn't know that. There's so much
going on in the world. Father, it's hard to keep up with everything.
I did not know that there was trouble in Italy. But you're running
for prime minister. Yeah, it's a long shot, I admit it.
But to run a campaign in Italy it's like the United States. You need
money, right I would assume so, yes, and probably a lot of
it. And I need to help with this, you know, because you're
a certified hypnotherapist, right, that is correct, Father, Yes I am.
And now in a room of one hundred people, how many people can
you hypnotize in that room. What would you say, Well, there's really
no limit, Father Bruno. So if we were to have say an entire
room fall, I mean, it could be several hundred potential for one hundred
to make it easy, one hundred, No, I can understand what percent
you can put under. Yes, well, anyone who wants to be hypnotized
can be hypnotized. They have to want to participate. You know, it's
not mind control. It's not like what you see on TV and in the
movies. But if you need someone to hypnotize some potential donors, maybe you
know, we could work something out. That's what I'm talking about, Matty,
you and I were in the same wave right here. I need donors
for my campaign. I need I need donors, I need big donors,
and I need your expertise. Yes, yes, you know, we got
to find suggestible people that are going to elect somebody who they can trust and
who is more trustworthy than a priest. And I dare say, and if
I don't know if you've already chosen a campaign slogan, but if you have
not, I might humbly suggest, how about who is more trustworthy than Father
Bruno? Exactly? Exact amount. You so see, you're so smart man.
You know I listen to your show. I try not to call in
too much because I don't want to disturb your musical show and the bands you
showcase. And I need some music in my campaign. And my idea is
I opened with some good blues you know, home song, good band.
We put it together in Italy. Here. I need your help with this
because you know music, and you know hypnosis and and and and I got
to raise money, yes, yes, I'm gonna have to raise a lot
of euros. Is that what they used there? I got twenty million euros
to get really to get roll in here because Italy. You know, we've
had terrible leaders in this country and the country is deeply in debt. H
now, I you know I approached the Pope, doctor the popa he's got
he's got control of a lot of money in the Vatican U. But I
don't think but he wouldn't. He gave me nothing. You know what he
said? What did? I like you very much, but I'm giving you
a bump kiss. You know that it is? Is that that is an
Italian word? Correct or No, actually it's a Yiddish word and it means
nothing. He's not going to give me nothing. Well, that's that's terrible.
Did he explain why? You know? What I've decided is I need
a professional hypnotist to actually go on the air with me and and and suggest
the people who want to be hypnotized. You're looking for honest guy to run
the government and and to uh contribute to my campaign. And we're going to
fix Italy and and make it great again like it was under Rome. Oh,
make it all lead great again. Well, isn't that what everybody wants?
I mean, how many people voted for Donald Trump? I know me
right, something like that. It was a shocking four million people in Rome
contribute to the Father Bruna campaign for Prime minister. Wait a sad, Father
Bruno. I'm not going to math, but what is the population there?
Yeah? I'm not exactly sure, you know, because the government they lie
about everything. I know, right, maybe not seventy four million? Yeah,
twenty million, twenty million would be enough. Okay, just send me
a dollar. That's twenty million dollars right, yes, And I would just
say, Father Bruno, to anyone who might be listening from from Rome,
you might find yourself a feeling an inclination to send Father Bruno money to help
him. That's why I'm asking you that, out of one hundred people,
how many people can you get to contribute to the Father Bureau campaign for Prime
Minister? Really well, I would just say, Father Bruno, if there
are one hundred people ten percent, give me a number. Father Bruno.
I can't give you a firm number, but I will just say this much.
I'm very very good at what I do. If you understand what I'm
saying, you know, I don't dispute that I'm very good at what I
do. I need to raise a lot of money here. Now, there's
something else here, you know, Yes, you know face of book,
you know you you're you're on the Facebook right, yes, absolutely, yes,
And and you know I'm watching your show now. And recently you said
you were a little bit depressed. Yes, that is an issue that I
struggle with. Yes, but you don't look depressed to me. You're very
animated. Well, I have to say at no, oh once once in
a while. Once in a while it is if I'm having a really bad
day. No, I feel okay, I feel I feel energized from the
event that I did last night and also, you know, this is this
is a part of the day where usually even if I'm feeling pretty down,
I can you know, I come in here and I feel pretty good because
this is this is what I would love to do to you. You're going
to the study, you become someone else, right and everybody right, I
hope. So I do want to be like although I love having some haters,
to be honest with you, but yeah, people, oh there are
haters, father Bruno. There are people who deeply dislike me. I want
you to know I am not a hater. I'm a big fan of Matt
Connerton unleashed. I appreciate that, Father Bruno. I'm a big fan of
you. That's why I've missed your calls. But I appreciate that. We're
a fan of each other, and we need to help each other because we
both need money, right, yes, don't we, all you, especially
because you're right, everybody needs more money except the billionaires who don't pay any
tax. Right, that is true. The billionaires definitely do not need more
money. I agree. Maybe we can hypnotize some of them, the warrant
buffets. Who's that guy at Amazon Bezos? That is really that's not a
name Bezos. That's a made up name, right, I know it sounds
like it would be the name of a currency in some country you've never heard
of, you know where they have it. They agreed to me, you
know, the Italians, the Romans, they were not fond of the Greeks.
But listen, I need to raise one hundred two hundred million dollars eventually,
but I started twenty million, and we go on from their euros.
You know, you're around the euro's theorem, but it's almost the same as
dollars. Can you help me with it this? Well, listen, and
so, uh so, what what we need to do is so in other
words, if we can get someone like Warren Buffett in a room where I
can uh Bill Gates too, it's a big contributor. These are these are
these are few tropic people that would like to see the world uh uh be
better, you know, and and in sorrow, sure, sorrow. So
we need to hypnotize him to yes, yes, I have to admit,
father, do it. Not only can I do it, Father Bruno,
but I've always wanted to. I've always wanted to be able to hypnotize a
billionaire exactly exactly. Matt we need to hypnotize a few billionaires. And and
I got an idea. You know, I got this idea. I don't
know where I got it, but I want to run a go fund me
campaign for Father Bruno. Oh, minister, what do you think? Well,
can you work? I think in Uh? I know in the United
States, I don't think that's legal for a political campaign, but I don't
know how that works in Italy. Well, we can't. It doesn't matter
when we raise the money. It's Italy. You don't care. Really,
you know, it's a corrupt system. But you know, all that counts
is the money and the color of green. You know, it's kind of
like the Murdox. You know, it doesn't matter who the advertisers are as
long as they like green, right, the murdochs Uh. You know you
got to run Fox and News. Well I know that, But do you
get do you get their media in Italy? Matt, Come on, man,
this is the Internet, the age of the Internet. Yes, yes,
you can get anything that's true, that is true. This is what
I'm suggesting. I want you to manage my campaign. Yes, the Prime
Minister of Italy. I want to reach out, reach out to the billionaires,
the billionaire class, and I want to run a go fund the campaign
for fun of Bruno for a prime minister. What do you think can you
make it work? There might be one issue. I don't speak Italian.
Is that a problem I don't understand. Well, it's a you want to
be prime minister of Italy. If I'm going to run your campaign for you,
I mean that's a high profile gig. Aren't people going to kind of
notice, Hey, the guy in charge of father Bruno's campaign, he's not
the one of us, you know what I mean? Are they going to
trust an American, a guy from New Hampshire to run your campaign? I
mean they trust you, your father Bruno, but we could keep you in
the background. Do you remember do you remember that guy named Manifort, an
American? Right, Paul Manifort. Yes, I think he might still be
in prison. In fact, he was involved in many campaigns in Ukraine,
right, Oh he was, Yes, he was involved in many things.
Yes, yeah, and you know he kind of he's kind of dropped off
the radar. But you know, I got a lot of respect for him.
You do, this guy knew how to raise the money and so I'm
not asking you to be Paul. I'm not asking I'm just asking you to
loosen up the people who've got the money, who really want Italy to be
great again. And I need somebody who can tap into that and and make
people suggest to the request to elect Father Bruno prime Minister of Italy. That's
what I need, and to go fundme campaign. You know, I don't
know anything about it. You know, I've heard about it. It happens,
you know, But we need to raise twenty million and I need a
guy like you. You know, a guy would experience, a guy with
charisma because on radio show that can talk up Father Bruno running for prime minister.
And I took a big chance, you know, quitting the Vatican.
You know, I was a very steady job. I only have a small
room. But I need to help you, Matt. You know I'm being
very serious here. I mean here, did you Father Bruno? Did you
am I inferring this correctly? Did you quit the Vaticans specifically to run for
prime minister. Yeah? I got tired of the top down thing. You
know, I didn't get to be a cardinal, you know, I ran
for cardinal and some Mexican you know, sabotage my campaign. You remember that,
right, I do remember? Yes, yeah, he said I'm making
I'm making a pastry in the shape of a penis and has ruined everything to
remember that. Yes, I vividly I got to go higher. You know,
people don't understand sometimes you never give up. You just you reach for
the golden ring. And this is and I need help from an expert.
Somebody is a specialist in tepping in two people who want things to be good
again. And we all want that, and so I need I need somebody
that can tap into that. And who would be better than Matt Connaton to
certified hipotherapist? Right, yeah, although you do realize I have no experience
in politics, right, You're not serious about politics? No, no,
no, I said, I have no experience in politics. I've never run
a campaign. I've never run a campaign for dogcatcher, let alone Prime Minister
of Italy. So just full just the money man. Just got to get
me the money. You've got to trust me. You've got to trust the
priests. You know, this is the problem with Peter Wright. He didn't
trust the priests. You know, he made up some fake story. You
know you didn't that Vene and and tept Peter Wright. Uh the real story.
I had to tell him what time it is, you know, and
the priests we don't. We don't do bad things. Made up a story.
It's a fake news. Let's and I think Peter Wright at the end
he goes island when I made uh, I made this accusation. Well,
I know, I know, uh, I know you and Peter Uh,
I haven't always uh seen an eye to eye, but that's okay. But
no, I haven't seen eye to eye with a guy that's slanders. The
priest. You know, of course you think you think I would. Well,
it's like that that Mexican you know, that Mexican priest. He said,
uh, he said I was making uh. I know, I don't
know, I remember kind of I remember uh uh like the English my first
language. He was, he said, I was, I was making pastry
in the shape of something dirty. And of course I wasn't, you know,
and and and and and Peter Whitey he said he didn't like the priests.
He got out of the Catholic Church and the Catholic Church. Let me
tell you something. We built Western civilization. You've mentioned that, you've mentioned
that, Yes, yeah, everywhere you know. So I'm just telling you,
you know, I want you to consider and there's something in it for
you. Matt. I'm going to give you ten percent of everything you raise,
Okay, I mean that's fair, right, that's more than fair.
That's very generous. I don't know if and the disc could launch you into
you know, a special place in radio. And I don't. I don't
have to learn this. You think about it for a little while. I
don't know. I don't have to for a day. Two you get back
to me, and and and we set everything up here in Italy. We
raised the money, we save Italy and maybe the next time we save America,
you know. And I don't have to learn to speak Italian. I
don't have to get Rosetta Stone and learn Italian. No. No, you're
you're like behind the scenes, but you're going to be on TV doing the
ads. You know. You'll have a translator, you know, but your
voice, you see, you have the voice, Max, the voice,
Max. The voice. Voice is very important. It's like Donald Trump,
he's got the voice too. Sympathize a lot of people, right, and
that we agree, father Bruno, Yes, yes we do. And you
do do the same thing. Because you got the voice, you can help
Italy be great again. Now, Italy, it's not the greatest country in
Europe right now, but we can be if we unify. I don't and
I don't. I don't put I don't put myself at risk for being charged
with treason for helping Italy become the greatest country. Have big that. If
you want to make money, you gotta go big. Now. I'm not
in it for the money. No, you're used to having no money.
You're you're a man of governries. You live in a room it used to
be the em vatticing, you know, and I shine the pop shoes and
I and I'm iron his clothes. But he's not going to help me.
I know. I'm gonna tell you. He don't have your voice. No,
and your voice can hypnotize people. And that's what I need right now.
That's all I'm asking. I'm putting your mind, okay, and just
took about it, and you get back to me in a couple of days.
Okay, all right, that sounds wonderful, Father Bruno. I appreciate
the opportunity. Great it be good good talking to you you as well,
Father Bruno, thank you for the call all right, bye bye. Wow.
Wow, we haven't heard from Father Bruno in years, literally years.
Like I said, it doesn't seem that long, because you know, we
have the Every Saturday morning from nine to eleven am, we run a best
of episode and Father Bruno shows up in quite a few of those. But
we haven't heard from him in a long time, in a long time.
Wow, he's running for Prime Minister of Italy. That is that is very
exciting. That is very exciting, and what an exciting opportunity for me.
But again, I just I worry though, I mean, will I be
seeing as well, I be seen as just seen as disloyal to America if
I'm focused on helping Father Bruno to make Italy great again. I'm a little
bit worried about that part of it. I don't know. But that is
exciting. And he likes my voice, and I assume you all like my
voice if you're listening to me right now. The only reason I mentioned that
is when Father Bruno. This might be a little inside, but I'm sure,
I'm sure there's some of you who know this. When Father Bruno mentioned
liking my voice, the first thing that popped into my head was I posted
the clip online and I played an edited version of it on the show.
That time. I called into the Tom Gully Show and he got angry with
me and said that I sound like Kermit the Frog, which I will acknowledge.
I don't have you know. I wish you know. What happened is
I ended up. My dad might appreciate this. I ended up with my
mother's nose. I would sound a little bit. I'd have a deeper voice
like my dad if I had my dad's nose, But I have my mother's
nose. So uh so that's the first thing that popped in my head when
Father Bruno said that, I thought of Tom Gully saying I sound like Kermit.
Uh. Tom Gully is a very cruel man. Uh, there's no
redemption for him. There's no forgiving him. I wouldn't even ask Father Bruno
to pray for him. Frankly, but uh wow, that was nice here
from Father Bruno. Well, uh, if anyone else wants to get in
with a call, we have a few minutes left in the segment. We
do have a great musical guest coming in in the second hour, but uh
six O three two five six seven is a studio line. Six three two,
five oh six seven, let's see and we'll the chat room got pretty
busy. Looks like oh yep. When father Bruno called let's see, yeah,
the chat room got busy. Oh. Polly C said this is the
comment that I was referring to when I picked up the phone. Paully C
said, let's put it this way, Matt, do your impression of Arnold
Schwarzenegger if he were from Rhode Island. Maybe I'll do that tonight on Retrospectrum
Radio, if you'll permit me. People love my impressions. Tom Blanchard says
in the chat room, but you speak a couple of words in French.
Yeah, I don't know any Italian. I took three years of Spanish.
I remember almost none of it. God, do I remember any of it?
I mean, I know, you know como estas miamo matteo. Uh,
I don't know. I guess that's about it, really, Audios buenis
nochis whenas That's about it? Do I know any words in French? I
know French Fries, French toast. Let's see. Isaac Banks, I joins
us in the chat from of course, Greensboro, North Carolina, says,
I went to the free dance yesterday at Lindley Recreation Center for me to go
to. Then I ran into my girlfriend, Tammy Cochrane. Ooh, that
must have been awkward. You went to the free dance. Tammy Cochrane was
at the free dance. You didn't know she was going to be there.
She didn't know you were going to be there. From what it sounds like
here, and you ran into her. There was she there with someone else.
M Isaac Banks also says good afternoon. Hashtag Tammy Cochrane. Please do
call me on the house phone and I love you. Wow. You run
into her at a dance and you're already on I love you. Isaac Bank
says hashtag Matt Connorton. I was giving a shout out to Tammy Cochrane from
Greensboro, North Carolina and lives in Greensboro, North Carolina. All right,
hm, let's see. Oh my goodness, some of this I cannot should
not read on the air. I suppose Tom Blanchard asking about the pastry that
Father Bruno was accused of making, asking if it was a big seller.
I got a little uncomfortable with that, that particular story. But but it
is it is funny. It's it's funnier if you know the context, if
you've been a long time listener, or if you've heard Father Bruno on some
of the best stubs. Eric Nana Rone joins us in the Facebook live chat.
Hello, Eric, let's see oh. Isaac Banks says she was by
herself hashtag Matt Connerton when she came in the free dance at Lindley Recreation Center
in Greensboro, North Carolina. Well, I'm glad you cleared that up.
Hey, a couple things just before we do get to the top of the
hour and we'll bring our guests in. Melanie says in the chat. I
bet it was Jenny's comments you couldn't read. She gets inappropriate sometimes. Hmm.
Let's see just quickly, if you have not heard the news President Joseph
Robin at Biden he's a Democrat. If you didn't know that, he will
not be on the Democrat ballot in the New Hampshire primary. I don't remember
this ever happening before. That's right now. As you might be aware,
there has been an issue where the Democratic National Committee the DNC, said we
are not going to allow New Hampshire to continue to be the first in the
nation primary. We are going to make that. South Carolina and New Hampshire
said no, we are going first. It's our state law. And that's
about it. And so the result of this now is that Biden simply won't
be on the ballot here, and apparently our twenty two delegates that are supposed
to go to the Democratic National Convention will not be seated. And this other
guy, so we bother mentioning his name or should we just call him this
other guy? I honestly can't even remember his name now off the top of
my head. I'm I'm almost embarrassed to say that he's his name. I
genuine I'm not even being funny. I genuinely can't remember this name. Somebody
else has announced their candidacy for president. He's been threatening to do this for
a while. Oh yeah, Dean Phillips. Dean Phillips, Congressman Dean Phillips.
He's served three terms in Congress. Apparently he's very, very wealthy,
and he is running for the Democratic ticket. It was kind of funny I
heard the Democrat, the Democratic chairman of the state Republican, I mean say
Democratic Party here in New Hampshire. I'm sorry, Ray Buckley. I heard
him being interviewed today by Steve Scully on a show that runs on the Potis
channel on satellite radio, and Scully was asking Ray Buckley, why is Dean
Phillips running? Because Dean Phillips came to New Hampshire made the announcement he's going
to be on the ballot. You know, he signed up and everything,
paid the money he's going to be so so in theory, this guy Dean
Phillips could win the New Hampshire primary. Mary Ann Williamson could win RFK.
Apparently he's running as an independent now. But so Steve Scully he asks Ray
Buckley, why is he running? Can you explain this? And Ray Buckley
literally he's like, I don't know. I mean, he didn't even really
have any answer. He's just kind of like, I don't know. He
said he wants to run. I said, fine, you're more than welcome
to and we'll treat you fairly like we do everybody. And that's about it.
It's like, okay, So there's even a Politico dot COM's Jack Schaeffer
wrote an opinion piece. I haven't had a chance to read it yet.
It says. It's titled The Pointlessness of Dean Phillips Presidential Campaign. Somebody else
made an observation to a few months ago when Dean Phillips was I forget what
show he was on. He was on a show on cable news, and
he was talking about potentially running. He hadn't made a decision yet, and
somebody, a podcaster that I like, said, he seems like he's from
another time. He seems like a nineteen nineties Democrat. It's kind of interesting
he does. He actually looks like it. He looks like he's from the
nineties. He looks like he should have been running in ninety two along with
Clinton and Songus and I can't even remember who else. But he'll be on
the ballot here in New Hampshire, and Joe Biden will not be on the
ballot. In fairness, he did come in fifth last time, but then
he went on to South Carolina and one and one bit and then he was
off and running. But this time he's not gonna be on there. And
I don't even know if he's going to be on the ballot in Iowa either.
He didn't do well there either. But I always say on the show
If you're a longtime listener, you've heard me say it many times, and
I firmly believe this. I don't say it hyperbolically. I mean it.
Joe Biden owes his presidency to the state of South Carolina and to Congressman James
Clyburn for Clyburn's endorsement of Joe Biden. That's what turned it around for him.
You take South Carolina out of the mix, or more precisely, you
take James Clyburn's endorsement out of the mix, and Joe Biden is not president
today. It would have been. I'm not saying that, you know,
the election itself would have had a different outcome necessarily only in that you know,
you would have had a different nominee that I firmly believe. So we
are going to it is the top of the hour. We're going to take
a break, and we're gonna show some love to our amazing sponsors. And
then when we come back, we've got a great band, Peregrine Dream.
They will be live in studio with us. So don't go away. There
is plenty more to come. W M n H will rip the dom off.
I don't know. Let's we go I don't know, let's go.
I don't feel incredible nonsense. You should have found out how to shouldn't feel
like I can't forever. I don't know any of those mind says this anyways.
Man's earn his shade. There are many ways of flood is not?
There are many ways to sail on sail. I don't know how, but
gone. Some days I've been my my sir. Some days I think this
is has Some days I know is well. Should have thought I have a
rule the world. I shouldn't like I'm forever. I don't know universe,
my mind says to see. So there a many was man's share. There
are many ways blood, There many ways to say. I wanted to say,
oh the many ways man all love, all the many with bloods.
There are many ways to say. This is as well stop don't know,
but don't know, but oh that is nice. I love it. That
is the world radio premiere of This Is Home. The band is a peregrine
dream guys, am I saying that correctly? Is a peregrine. Peregrine?
Yeah, okay, I wasn't sure. It's not a word you hear every
day. We've got the We've got the band in studio with us and they're
gonna they brought instruments and they're gonna play live and I'm really looking forward to
this. So welcome guys, and of course this is at Connorton Unleashed.
We are live from the studios of w m n H ninety five point three
FM and Glorious Downtown Manchester, New Hampshire, also on Comcast Channel six if
you're in Manchester, and oh hello to all of our online listeners across the
nation and around the globe. You can go to my website Matt Connorton dot
com for all your live streaming options, social media links, contact info,
show archives, et cetera, et cetera. Let's well, we'll start at
the news desk and uh, why don't you introduce your introduce yourself and tell
us what you do in the band. So I'm Tie and uh, I
play in two other bands. So I've been here before, yes, and
this is kind of a different flavor than I've people have known before and this
is bands under a year old, so it's something new, kind of something
I just started up. Yeah, So if you do know who I am,
I'm in a fake I'm in Reckless Child, as well as my brother
Trevor, who plays the drums also in Novakoy also was running Strange Attractions,
which is a booking company. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, we're talking
about that booking bands over at the Strand Theater in Dover. So we had
a season of that that was good. So music wise, that's pretty much
where I'm at, kind of switching my focus to music more than the booking
thing. Yeah, very cool, very cool. All right, And on
the bass over there in the corner, I'm meeting you for the first time
today, I believe. How are you, sir? Tell us who you
are? Oh sorry, let me let me pull that. Well, that
mic is really low, Sorry about that. Okay, go ahead, okay,
cool, I'm doing well. My name is Simon Trubowitz. I played
bass for Peregrine Dream. Okay, nice to meet you, Simon. Nice
to meet you as well. Met Is there anything specific that I should share
or no, no, just I wanted to know what you do and who
you are and cool all that. And then Caleb, Yeah, Hi,
So I'm Caleb. I'm I play guitar and I sing in Peregrine Dream.
I'm one of the two founding members. It's actually really interesting how it worked
out and kind of cool. There's a there's a an app called vamper.
It's kind of like a It's been described as a tender for musicians and basically
it's a networking app. Wow, I hadn't heard of this. Yeah,
no, it's really cool. It's a great, great concept, great idea.
You can put all your you can put all your songs that you have
published on there. You can you can talk to people in your area if
you're looking for a piano player or someone to produce, or just trying to
get your name out there. It's pretty cool. But anyway, Yeah,
so I play guitar acoustic and electric in the band, and I also sing
along with Simon here. So excellent. Yeah, excellent, And you,
sir, I like the shirt Thank you. Sabbath is always good. Absolutely.
Uh. My name's Trevor Tyler's brother. I played drums and percussion in
Peregrine Dream Okay, Reckless Child as well. Oh, very cool, very
cool. Well, guys, I'm glad to hear I love the song by
the way as a song that that is really really good. Where was that?
Where was that? Where was that recorded? Where'd you guys do that.
We recorded it at various locations, I'd say, yeah, mostly at
Caleb and my house. Okay, Yeah, So it's been like a been
a mix of spots because you know how it is, we've we've had a
show almost like every other weekend, sometimes two in one weekend. Yeah.
Like I say, these guys, I told them when the fall came and
go, we're gonna take a break because we've just been like out straight.
But we set a deadline back in August. Hey, we gotta have these
songs ready, and you know, one thing after another, next thing,
you know, it's the week of and it's like, hey, we're missing
some tracks. We still got to mix this, we got to get it
published, and there's all this, you know, and everyone's critiquing parts,
and it's like, we just got to get something out there because we've been
we've been playing since what I mean April March. Yeah, i'd say,
like, yeah, like April March. Well, yeah, the three so
the three of us actually started up in I think January or February, and
we had we were playing with a bassis from up north at first, and
then he decided it was too much of a drive for him and then lo
and behold pretty much as soon as our very first gig. It's funny how
this happens. We found Simon and then you know, Simon's been plugged in
with us, and yeah, we've all just been contributing since then. Excellent,
excellent. Well I'm dying to hear you guys play. I don't I
don't want to run out of time. So do you want to do a
few songs for us? Yeah? Absolutely, We'll have to kind of I'll
have to kind of sound check on the board as we go. I'll be
riding the faders a little bit, but uh, I'll make sure we can
we can hear everything. But yeah, whenever, whenever y'all are ready,
if you're just joining us, we have a Peregrine dream here live in studio
with us. We heard the world radio premiere of the new track is This
Home? I'm sorry this is home. I'm getting too slex and uh,
these guys are They're gonna play live for us now, So yeah, whenever
you're ready, guys, just go ahead. Two one, two, three
four. A metal man driving through Vegas. We were driving through the NYE.
He told me about his ad slover, and I was just slong for
the ride, and I thought, you know, she's a girl. Hairs
made the sun shines, and riding up the scenes me and got things up
there, sleep sending us boys never gone a better wolve in in the mountains.
It was still a sweet young princess in her eye who took a walk
along, leave bad night, and isn't in it like everything's all right.
And I thought, you know, she's a girl. Her hairs made the
sunshine and made brighten up wool that it seems sleep. We got things up
the sleeves and us boys and never gone alone. I never saw her,
you asked myself. It been doing this so well from the very dawn of
time. And now I'm here, and now I know you will never see
quite how in boats on the other side. And I did you know she's
gone. He's made the sunshine of the prying of wool. But it seems
so I got these up there sleeves, set us bool, never gone,
never gone, never gone, never gone. You've never gone. Oh very
nice. I love that. You guys got a great sound, great great
sound. Yeah, yeah, you wanna you wanna go right to uh,
right to another one. Okay, yeah, uh the one, the one,
all right, Peregrine dream live in studio. M hm m hm hm
m hmmm, h m hm h m hm you ROMI, I don't need
to if we do move back, have a question why you always been mind
linking. I wish you could read my behind and hear what I'm saying myself
about it. Proud of me even though I felt I wasn't where I should
be. Got allowed you to find me. Even though I felt I wasn't
where I should be. Got allowed you to find me, and I had
had lost every time I fall home baby Yagi, and I know that I
can't. I can't be either one home will under saying, okay, you
so fine. I just wish it. I can know you playing from a
sting. I gotta last you was mine. I love you too the very
end. Never ever let it in. We got in a fast car.
Now I'm driving tube with all I ever asked for somebody I can move with.
That's called love. It call on a lack of ruben to when I
cried, she ain't ever let me lose it, and I had lost it
every time my far home baby, he hide car and I hid news and
I can't. I can eas the one home? Who is Lounder sending him?
Oh, and I hide had it or said every time I fall home,
baby, I give you go and I hide lose that I can't.
I can't be either one home? Who is Lounder sending him? Yeah?
I like your voice, man, thanks, Yeah, yeah, that sounds
really good if you're just joining us. Peregrine Dream is alive in studio with
us. DJ Steve from Retrospect Radio says, Hi, Matt and everyone.
I like what these guys are doing. Yeah, appreciated, Steve. Very
cool, very cool. You guys, wanna you want to do another one?
We got we got time? Yeah? Well you keep going? Yeah
cool cool. Oh yeah, no worries, no worries, nothing, nothing
like playing with two guitars and the g string is slightly out of tude and
one of them. Yeah. So the next song we're gonna play is called
Summer Sun. This one's for my girlfriend. Oh very nice? Is she
listening? I think? So excellent? Hope? So yeah, very good?
All right, somemer soon looks so inviting reflected off your face and the
smiles he flash at me. May wanna stay? So let's just see if
he'll why thinger about some pretty things. I can afford the Dimond hen ring,
but I would buy you anything if I could. Don't say you're leaving
me. Don't tell me anything bad, hello, tell me love me in
our sand s, talk silence. Just sit here under the clouds, feel
like wrets, and I ches a endo snatch. A bad world after all.
You see way the clouds in the castle in the sky, they don't
worry about nothing, Bady, neither do Wesse. The day passes by.
You're killing me, and that sundress. The look in your eyes reminds me
of thing. I'm the bed. It's the best feeling bad ball. I'm
still beaming your head and you're killing me with your hair and your smile.
A beautiful life, but has behind most clear blood. I think that it's
parade or ah. Don't say leaving, don't tell me anything bed little,
Tell me love me, and I'll stand so tall. So just sit here
under the clouds, feel the grass, and I toss ago. It's not
such a bed world after all. Don't say you live in me. Don't
tell me anything bad at all. Just tell me you love me, and
I'll stay so tall. So just sit here under the class, feel the
grass and to and no, it's not such a bad world. Have the
very nice Peregrine Dream live in studio with us, and we have a comment
in the chat room. Cynthia Moore says, oh my goodness, this is
awesome way to do it, Caleb Miller and Peregrine Dream. I keep almost
saying that wrong. I love the song one and this one dedicated to beautiful
Victoria Shaw XO, our favorite aunt Cindy and uncle Don. What a great
broadcast all the way around, she said, Sorry for the typos. I
got excited, not donut do it? Yeah, I figured I read it
that's how I read it as do it. Yeah. No, you guys
sound great. You guys sound great. Now, what's tell me about in
terms of studio tracks? So you have the one that we debuted today,
Do you have more? Are you actively working on more in the studio?
Actively working on some more right now? Excellent? Slowly funneling out the releases,
Yeah, as it comes. So so the way that we're gonna do
it. We released this one as a single this week, This is home,
and then we're gonna we're gonna bundle I think girl, She's a Girl,
and then a couple of Simon songs, one called I Never Fooled One,
the one is gonna be on there, and then a couple others.
So yeah, we're I think we're slated for a three or four song EP
by the the year. Yeah, so I would say by the new year.
Yeah, you should hear She's a Girl, which is the first song
we played, I Never Fooled One, which is a one he wrote,
and then the one last one you heard Summer Sun. You might see that
too. That's that's our hope. So yeah, it might be a five
song yeah, yeah, yeah, cool. Cool. And are you guys
playing out a lot? Yeah? We we've been pretty busy. Tomorrow is
actually our last show as of right now. But I think we just came
off a summer. I think we've looked at like ten gigs yeah, throughout
since uh when we really hit it at the springtime, probably around April.
Yeah, so yeah, these guys have been busy. And I got a
hand to these guys because the mix of them when I was booking at the
strand I have you know it is band especially got bands from Boston. They
just fall out stuff happens, and I get that. So I call these
guys up and go, hey, you guys want to fill in at the
last minute, which is like any band two hours an hour before a gig,
you're like what, But yeah, a few times they pulled it off
and is great. And we did a late night show. So those you
know, I was called those glorified band band practices because you get in the
last bit of people. But but I mean as far as the gigs we
actually booked, I mean I would say we probably did about ten ten over
the summer. Yeah, yeah, you know, we might get a might
get a Christmas gig in here. I think that'd be fun. Oh yeah,
yeah, there you go. There you go, very cool. Yeah,
Isaac Banks in the chat room is really enjoying you as well, and
thank you Isaac. Now, where where should people go online to keep up
with with what you're all doing? And uh, how do you spell peregrine
for people listening who have no idea? Yeah? Yeah, so I'll answer
that one. Yeah, the spelling, I mean, I won't necessarily spell
it per se just because it's too many letters. So the best way to
think of it, the peregrine falcon is actually kind of the inspiration for our
band name, yeah, the World's Fastest Bird, you know, and we
have a song that we're not gonna play today called Songbird. And I don't
know, I just I've always loved how music, you know, the right
song can just make you feel free, you know, like like a high
flying bird, you know, soaring just above it all, looking down on
it all. And I just thought that was such a cool kind of imagery.
And then you know, the the dream part of it is, you
know, a peregrine dream, so like a high flying dream, you know.
And and that can be different depending on the person it is. I
mean, for me, it's always been kind of always been music. I
mean for these guys it's it's music, but you know it can really be
you know, just a high flying dream that of freedom. Yeah, very
cool. Uh say that again, Simon. I'm trying to become a professional
pickleball player on the side. Professional pickleball player, Yeah, a lot of
time, Like Simon's looking for some competitions musicians especially, Yeah, very good,
play our instruments and then play some pickleball. What's better than that?
I will there you go, It's not it's not for everyone. I suppose
Yeah, Cynthony, I'm sorry, Cynthia. More in the chat says thanks
tons for explaining the story behind the band's name. Brilliant. Yeah. I
I honestly I was trying to figure out earlier, like because I knew I
had heard the word peregrine, but I couldn't figure out what it meant or
where it was from. But uh, cool. Well, we look forward
to some some more studio music soon. And you guys sound great. Thanks
for coming in and playing live. This has been uh, thanks for having
