22:20 Speaker 16: that we have here at ninety five point three FM.

22:21 Speaker 16: Love it here, but we also have a podcasting studio

22:25 Speaker 16: that I have at home, and obviously there's you know,

22:29 Speaker 16: you need computers for that.

22:30 Speaker 19: And Jenny did a wonderful job. A lot of the.

22:34 Speaker 16: The wonderful things that people bring us guests. You know,

22:36 Speaker 16: they come in, they bring us T shirts and stickers

22:38 Speaker 16: and all kinds of stuff or even vinyl records, and

22:41 Speaker 16: Jenny decorated the studio with all that stuff. I should

22:43 Speaker 16: take some pictures of it. But you know, to support

22:47 Speaker 16: all the great guests that we have on the show,

23:25 Speaker 16: that we want to do with the podcast. And that's

23:29 Speaker 16: just one of the ones that we do from the

23:30 Speaker 16: home studio. So that has no affiliation or connection to

23:33 Speaker 16: WM and H. That's completely separate. But it streams online.

23:36 Speaker 16: If you follow me on social media, you'll see all

23:37 Speaker 16: this stuff. But I needed something with a faster processor,

23:41 Speaker 16: so I ordered something.

23:42 Speaker 19: I ordered a.

23:42 Speaker 16: Referb on eBay, a refurbished computer. And you know, some

23:47 Speaker 16: of these places that you order these computers from, you

23:49 Speaker 16: can input whatever specs you want. So if you need

23:53 Speaker 16: a certain processing speed, a certain amount of RAM you know, memory,

23:57 Speaker 16: so forth, you can. You can put in all the

23:58 Speaker 16: specifics that you need. A course, the more of any

24:01 Speaker 16: one thing, any one specification that you add, the more

24:06 Speaker 16: expensive the computer becomes. But I found a really good

24:08 Speaker 16: deal on something on a refurbished I mean if I

24:14 Speaker 16: bought it new, this same computer with the same specs

24:17 Speaker 16: would have cost me hundreds of dollars. I got this

24:20 Speaker 16: one really cheap. But so and the seller I bought

24:24 Speaker 16: it from, they sell a lot of computers and they

24:25 Speaker 16: have a very high they have a great approval rating,

24:28 Speaker 16: not approval rating. Sorry, I'm thinking about politics. That relates

24:31 Speaker 16: to another podcast that I do, which I'm not going

24:34 Speaker 16: to talk about here on wmn H, but we'll leave

24:37 Speaker 16: that aside.

24:37 Speaker 19: But that's where. That's why the term approval rating was

24:40 Speaker 19: in my brain. What I meant to say is feedback.

24:44 Speaker 16: You know, because on eBay you leave sellers feedback, or

24:46 Speaker 16: if you're a seller, buyers leave you feedback, et cetera.

24:49 Speaker 16: That's what I meant to say, feedback, not approval rating.

24:54 Speaker 16: But the seller had a great feedback rating and whatnot.

24:57 Speaker 16: So I went ahead and I made this purchase, and uh,

25:02 Speaker 16: this bought this computer. And so I got it very

25:06 Speaker 16: fast shipping, and I was pleased with that. Got it

25:11 Speaker 16: hooked up, and everything seems like it's going to do

25:13 Speaker 16: everything that I needed to do for the podcast.

25:15 Speaker 19: It seems like it's fast enough. Everything's good. Only one problem. Now,

25:19 Speaker 19: this is a weird problem. So with the keyboard that

25:22 Speaker 19: came with the computer, I cannot.

25:23 Speaker 16: Type a letter T, a capital T, I should say

25:27 Speaker 16: by holding down the shift key and pressing T.

25:30 Speaker 19: I know, if this is boring, just hang with me.

25:32 Speaker 16: This is going somewhere absurd and hopefully you'll feel that

25:37 Speaker 16: the story has a good payoff.

25:40 Speaker 19: Or at least an interesting twist to it.

25:42 Speaker 16: So I can't type a capital T on the keyboard

25:45 Speaker 16: that came with the computer unless I hit caps lock

25:48 Speaker 16: and then hit the T key and then undo the

25:52 Speaker 16: caps lock and then go back to typing in lower case.

25:55 Speaker 19: You know, every other key on the keyboard.

25:58 Speaker 16: If I hold down shift and push that letter and

26:01 Speaker 16: makes a capital letter, that's how you do it when

26:03 Speaker 16: you type, But not with the T. For some reason,

26:06 Speaker 16: if I hold down shift and press T, it doesn't

26:09 Speaker 16: even make a lower case TA. It doesn't make any

26:11 Speaker 16: T at all. If I don't hold down shift, it

26:13 Speaker 16: will make a lowercase T. So the KEYT works the

26:16 Speaker 16: tkey rather, I said KEYT.

26:18 Speaker 19: The T key works.

26:20 Speaker 16: I believe I'm suffering from an adult onset dyslexia. But anyway,

26:24 Speaker 16: but I can't make a capital T using the shift key.

26:27 Speaker 16: So I message the seller. Right this is where it

26:30 Speaker 16: gets bizarre. I messaged the seller. I said, computer works

26:35 Speaker 16: okay so far, but there's a weird glitch with the

26:38 Speaker 16: keyboard that came with it. I am unable to type

26:40 Speaker 16: a capital T using the shift keys. The only way

26:43 Speaker 16: to do it is by turning on the caps lock.

26:47 Speaker 16: So so far, the T is the only key that

26:50 Speaker 16: is an issue. But I just started using it. This

26:53 Speaker 16: is the response I got from the seller.

35:42 Speaker 16: the main focus, or if it was a Beach Boys

35:44 Speaker 16: documentary that just had a lot of Brian Wilson in it,

35:51 Speaker 16: key component of the Beach Boys. But Brian Wilson, it

35:54 Speaker 16: was a really interesting guy. But he did have a

35:56 Speaker 16: lot of mental health struggles and a lot of people

35:58 Speaker 16: took advantage of him. And but one of the interesting

36:04 Speaker 16: things about him was he was such a musical genius

36:08 Speaker 16: that he kind of took his own talent for granted

36:12 Speaker 16: in some ways. This specifically stands out in my mind.

36:17 Speaker 16: A family member of his might have been his daughter

36:19 Speaker 16: or somebody was at his home and he spontaneously sits

36:25 Speaker 16: at a piano and he writes something and it's really

36:30 Speaker 16: really good, and it so impresses the person who was

36:33 Speaker 16: there at his house hearing him compose this incredible song,

36:38 Speaker 16: who then said to him, you've got to write that

36:41 Speaker 16: down or like he creates this song and then he

36:45 Speaker 16: basically says it was getting late.

36:47 Speaker 19: He said, well, I got enough of that. I gotta

36:50 Speaker 19: turn in. I gotta go to bed.

36:51 Speaker 16: And then whoever it was who was there with him says,

36:53 Speaker 16: you've got to write that down or record that or something.

37:42 Speaker 16: only dreamed of at the time. The family Stone was

37:46 Speaker 16: an integrated world, black and white, men and women, and

37:56 Speaker 16: you think. For a period of time from sixty seven

38:00 Speaker 16: seventy three, their music was inescapable.

39:18 Speaker 16: musicians and other people in the music industry. We love

39:22 Speaker 16: talking to creative people. I love interviewing creative people. But

39:25 Speaker 16: a subject that also seems to come up a lot

39:27 Speaker 16: on the show, not intentionally, but it just kind of

39:29 Speaker 16: works its way in is mental health. And we talk

39:32 Speaker 16: a lot about how music affects our mental health in

39:34 Speaker 16: a positive way, how people dealing with mental health issues,

39:41 Speaker 16: whether it's depression or or maybe trauma, all kinds of things,

39:45 Speaker 16: How people use and create art as a form of

39:49 Speaker 16: therapy in a sense to deal with with their issues.

39:53 Speaker 16: And so no surprise that a lot of creative people

39:58 Speaker 16: suffer from mental health issues of their own. There's a

40:00 Speaker 16: lot of depression, there's all kinds of things, anxiety and

40:03 Speaker 16: so forth. I got to take a gulp of my

40:05 Speaker 16: water here. My allergies has been terrible lately. But I

40:10 Speaker 16: thought this was interesting. You know, Spotify gets a lot

40:13 Speaker 16: of negativity in the music industry because they pay artists

40:16 Speaker 16: so little. But this I thought was a positive thing,

40:21 Speaker 16: so I wanted to highlight it again. This is from Billboard.

40:29 Speaker 16: resource hub. Supporting creators well being is essential sustaining a

43:53 Speaker 16: that's something positive and Spotify gets a lot of negativity

44:00 Speaker 16: well earned in some ways, right, but I'm not saying

44:06 Speaker 16: anything about I'm not really making any judgments about that.

44:08 Speaker 16: I just wanted to highlight something positive about that. So

44:11 Speaker 16: we might hit one other music industry story. And then

44:54 Speaker 16: This just went up yesterday. More ticketing regulatory scrutiny, secondary

44:59 Speaker 16: platform shady reseller connections re emerge in BBC investigation. So

45:05 Speaker 16: this is something that's happening more across the pond. But

45:09 Speaker 16: these things can always have an effect globally if you

45:12 Speaker 16: don't know, and we've talked about it quite a bit.

45:14 Speaker 16: There was one segment where we kind of went in

45:16 Speaker 16: depth on this what is a secondary reseller market? Kind

45:19 Speaker 16: of funny because I was talking about eBay earlier, completely unrelated,

45:23 Speaker 16: but you know, because obviously on e if you purchase

45:25 Speaker 16: something on eBay, it's you know, a secondary market of

45:28 Speaker 16: sorts a different kind. But but when you're purchasing tickets

45:34 Speaker 16: on a secondary market, so you're not buying them necessarily

45:37 Speaker 16: from Live Nation or Ticketmaster, same company, but you might

45:43 Speaker 16: be buying say, for example, you go to Live Nation

45:45 Speaker 16: and something is sold out. You want to go to

45:47 Speaker 16: a show and it's sold out, but you might find

45:48 Speaker 16: tickets to that show from a available from a secondary reseller,

45:53 Speaker 16: which means another service that seems to have some of

45:58 Speaker 16: these tickets for a considerably higher price. So in other words,

46:04 Speaker 16: everyone's heard of scalping, so you might have a secondary

46:07 Speaker 16: service that bought in bulk some of these tickets when

46:11 Speaker 16: they first went on sale. So instead of the consumer

46:16 Speaker 16: having access to those tickets, this reseller bought them, and

46:19 Speaker 16: now this reseller is selling them at a fty profit.

46:26 Speaker 16: If that sounds shady and sketchy, I don't know that

46:28 Speaker 16: I necessarily have a moral or ethical objection from a

46:32 Speaker 16: capitalism standpoint, but I understand why people don't like it

46:38 Speaker 16: and why people think it's shady and sketchy. And what

46:41 Speaker 16: makes it even more shady and sketchy if you feel

46:44 Speaker 16: that way about it, which you certainly have a right too.

46:51 Speaker 16: Is that sometimes these secondary resellers are actually operated by

46:57 Speaker 16: Live Nation. In other words, they bought up Live Nation

47:00 Speaker 16: went and bought up some of these secondary resellers. So

47:08 Speaker 16: a show and they give the secondary quote unquote secondary

47:11 Speaker 16: reseller that's actually a subsidiary of Live Nation some of

47:14 Speaker 16: those tickets. You know that doesn't feel very good to

47:18 Speaker 16: the consumer, does it Now that maybe you didn't know

47:20 Speaker 16: that before, and now you're learning that for the first time,

47:23 Speaker 16: and you're saying, wait a minute, I think I'm really

47:24 Speaker 16: getting screwed here. So we're not gonna have time to
