ninety seven. If you're in Manchester and hello to oli our online listeners across
the nation and around the globe. You can go to my website Matt Connerton
dot com for all of your live streaming options, social media links, contact
info, show archives, etc. Et cetera. It is Friday, June
thirtieth, two thousand and twenty three, and I am not alone. If
you haven't girl problems out for bath for your son. I got ninety nine
problems, but one. DJ Reckless is at the news desk. What's up?
What's going on? It's another day. It's beautiful out, yes,
yes, as well little humid, hum, little humid. Yeah, but
it's that time of year. I do so love the summertime. Listen,
it's not raining, okay, so yeah, doing pretty damn good. Yeah
yeah. Oh yeah. The other day I thought I was gonna get swept
away. Yeah. I got caught in two of those storms. That was
not impressed, not impressed at all. Away it was very frightening, but
welcome everybody. And by the way, it's our last, our last unleashed
of the week. And then just to remind people too, next week we
are off. It is our summer break, but it is only for a
week. So next week we've got a brand new, fresh batch of best
of editions for you that you can hear so and the morning show will be
off also to no live shows next week, but then we'll be back on
July ten. We have a very exciting show for you. Today. We
have a busy show, let's see, coming up in just a few minutes.
We're going to do well. Actually i'll circle back to that. Coming
up about four or forty five, we're gonna do Eric Pilter's classic film review
the return this week, and the subject is Raiders of the Lost Arc,
good old Indiana Joe. That's right, the original, the original Indiana Jones
film, Raiders of the Lost Arc, the very first one. And then
and then in the second hour we're gonna be joined in studio by Hue the
Gecko, so very excited about that. He's our musical guest today. But
in just a few minutes, we're going to do the world radio premiere.
I do so love the World Radio premiere. Is Jerry Robinson's Mailbox Dog is
the name of the band. That's a sick name for it, Ben,
Yeah, I know. I mean if it was just mail Box Dog,
you'd be like, oh, that's kind of dumb. But Jerry Robinson's Mailbox
Dog. That's got some shine to it, right exactly. It gives you
that like yes for a band name that you need. And Jerry is great,
you know. He uh he recently called the show. He's become a
friend of the show. He called and he uh gave me the position of
what is it, uh, commander to the Supreme Leader in Jerry Robinson's Rock
and Roll Army. So very exciting. I'm the commander to the Supreme Leader.
Can you even believe it? I never even big. That's a big,
big thing for you, Matt. I know, I know up in
the world, aren't we. I can't wait until my uniform arrives. That's
gonna be really exciting. And uh so he recorded a song it's called down
in New Orleans or playing in New Orleans. I'm sorry you're playing down in
New Orleans. And I'm not sure I have the title exactly correct. But
here's the thing. Not only is he on the track, but a couple
of other people we know are on the track with him, Uh Billy Painter
of course Outlaw Radio he plays drums, and Eric Pilcher, who is actually
credited on the track as Eric Pincher. Apparently that's his stage name, so
when Eric, I guess when he performs, when he records music, he's
Eric Pinchercher. Well that could work too, But actually I had no idea
that he could play a guitar like he does. I mean, it's just
fire, I think, is what the young people say, right, you
say fire fire, It's it's amazing. So we're gonna hear that in just
a moment, of course. Jerry Robinson's Mailbox Dog the world radio premiere of
his of his new soon to be hit song playing in New Orleans. Very
exciting. I think it might be a demo. I'm not sure if it's
the official song or not. It sounds a little, uh, you know,
like a garage band, but no, but it's it's really really good.
I can't wait to share it with you. I've been I've been on
pins and needles all day. Uh. Speaking of singles, by the way,
we should mention the song we opened with today open the show is a
track called Attention by Sammy Adams. But you also have some involvement in that
song, don't you there, DJ Reckless a little bit, a little bit
of a little bit of writing choruses. Yes, yes, yeah, no,
I'm stoked. I'm stoked to hear that. Actually, I'm even stoked
to play it live next week because I'm on tour with him. So ah,
yes, yeah, you should mention that plug that next week Thursday,
Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Possibly, I don't know what's going on.
The weather, yea, the weather. But Thursday we got Sammy Adams and
collywoods at Bernie's Beach part in Hampton, New Hampshire. I'm really stoked to
be playing on that show. If anybody has followed me for a while now,
you guys know that me and Sammy are like like best friends. I've
done shows with him before, from Boston to Sanna, New York or as
the Sanna No It's Loud and Loudenville, New York for Sianna College. This
is a little warm up though, because August thirty. First, Sammy's coming
to Manchester with me and we're doing a joint show together at Soho by Strong
Lounge. Tickets are gonna go up, I think next week. I believe
we're looking at it's it's the whole thing. But I'm really stoked on that,
Like, that's that's huge Sammy. Sammy used to be involved in the
Barstool Sports and stuff like that, went on tour with them. Oh,
I didn't realize that. Yeah, this was years ago though, so he's
kind of coming back. COVID kind of just took him out. He was
like, I don't want to make music now. Now he's making music and
he's killing it. Yeah, yeah, you'd stop. His tour so far
has sold out. Yeah, and excellent. Yeah, excellent. Now that's
cool and it's cool that you did that. So you helped him, You
helped right? Did you did you produce or what? What? What did
you do? Write that song? I hope write that song? We actually
was it December? No, it was before, it was before okay,
and then it didn't get released till like recently. Yeah. Yeah, that
song is set in the archives for dude, probably six seven months by the
way, so I haven't heard a ton of his stuff, just a little
bit here and there, dribs and drabs. But that song, obviously he's
not rapping on when he's singing. Yeah, he does. He have other
songs like that where you're singing. Yeah. So I think recently he's coming
out with him. I can't speak for him, but I feel like he's
trying to get a new sound. Yeah. Like I said in the green
room, green room with him together a few weeks ago in New York,
and I was listening to some of the tracks and I was like, it's
not what you would think he would do. He came up during that frat
rap era with like Mac Miller, Waka Flocka stuff like Dad doing them frat
shows. Now he's like gone from the frat rap era to like sort of
dm ish. That track was produced by UM some project X I'm not sure,
but to eight Mafia, and if you know eight to eight Mafia,
they're pretty good and pretty big in production. Yeah. Yeah, oh very
cool. That's cool. You're gonna be touring with him, and uh,
what do you have? You've got a show tonight right locally? Right up.
Yeah, we're back. It's been a while since I've been at six
oh three. Yeah, it has, actually has, it has, yeah,
because I've been exploring other other avenues right now, other parties stuff like
that. Yeah, but yeah, No, we're back to back tonight and
tomorrow night at six or three. Feels good. It's good to be back
there. Actually, I will say yeah because as you as you know,
I've been playing Soho a lot. Yeah. I love Soho. I love
the vibes, but I want to I want to go back. Yeah,
you know what I mean. Yeah, and it's important that I show the
people, the bartenders over there that hey, I didn't just dip out right,
I'm seeing what works and something's working in this city. Yeah, yeah,
absolutely excellent. Hampton picked up two this week. Walies my weekly residency.
That's crazy. Oh yeah, you should plug that too, because I
don't think you've mentioned that on the show. Because every Monday until Labor Day
we're at Walies in Hampton Beach and if you are a bartender, server or
even work in the restaurant industry, you get fifty percent off your tab.
Oh so they do an industry night and its Industry Nights. Very cool.
Yeah, the Opknot does that on Wednesdays. Yeah, that's excellent. So
it's been busy, uh, not so a lot, not not till this
week. Oh okay, it popped off this week. I think it was
a multitude of things. Yeah, I think it was Bike week before that,
and then just the beginning of the summer or beginning in June just particularly
slow. Yeah. Now that we're about to uh oh by the way too,
today is the last because it is June thirtieth, it's the last day
of Pride month. How did that go? Because you dj at Pride in
Manchester? Um, it was definitely interesting. Yeah, I enjoyed it.
It was a really eye opening experience. Yeah. I did not like djaying
in the rain. Oh no. But seeing the amount of people that came
out that night or that day was kind of like, but where were you?
You were? You were underneath something, right the tent over there?
Yeah okay, but it was it was definitely interesting. I forgot that it
rained that day. Oh yeah, no, it rained. Oh yeah,
that puts a damper on things. See what I did there, it's it's
upun damper. It was rained anyway, That's why I'm in afternoon drive.
Um. Yeah, very good, very good. Um. Oh, and
we should mention too for those watching online. Although I haven't seen I know
Melanie usually is the first one to point it out. I haven't seen her
in the chat room yet, but you've got you got a lot of red
going on over there. Oh yeah, we're matching shoes, um, drink,
headphones, phone, yep. I like. I don't know if you
can tell, but red and black and my favorite colors. Yeah, yeah,
yeah, no, I like it. Red's my favorite color. Absolutely.
By the way, too, we should remind people watching online avenue hat
my people's action hat. This is the wonderful hat that Jenny got for me
and when she was in Washington, DC doing some great work and continues to
do great work with advocating for healthcare for for people who are in need,
which is a big subject. We won't get into all of it right now,
but I think she's planning to come in with me on the tenth of
July when we come back from break, and she'll she'll talk all about what
she's been up to, and that'll be uh, that'll be very cool.
Um. I think we should, uh now before I give the phone numbers
out and everything. I think we should because I know everybody is on pins
and needles. I'm excited. Yes, actually we'll say hello to everybody in
the Facebook live Jack No, no, no no World Radio Premiere time.
I'm excited. Well yeah, but I can't do this to me. I
saw, I saw. Well, you know it's in radio. See you
want to you gotta hook him in, you gotta spring him along a little
bit. Uh, It's it's true, it's true. Our friend Mike from
Queen City Cabinetry is in the chat room. Mike, of course not only
a sponsor of WMNH, but one of our great co hosts on retro Spectrum
Radio, which you can hear tonight from eight to eleven PM. I'll be
there, of course with Paulic and uh Mike and uh DJ Steve tonight.
The theme is summertime Songs, appropriately in the summer of SIXTEENA. That's uh,
that's some Brian Adams right there. Yes, I always forgot who that
was sung by actually till now. Interestingly enough, he would have had to
have been like a child if if it was actually the summer of nineteen sixty
nine, So the song is not is not autobiographical. Eric Pilcher is in
the chat room, and and he's very excited for the world radio premiere of
playing in New Orleans by Jerry Robinson's Mailbox Dog. He says, number one
with a bullet, I think today, I think this will be the launching
pad that's going to send that song straight up the charts to number one.
Rondo Favera, Rondo, Ronda Favero. You know what it is in my
mind? I do this sometimes. I created an amalgam of her first name
and last name, and I said Rondo. It's Ronda Favero from California,
says hello everyone, Hello Ronda. Also Isaac Banks, of course, joins
us from Greensboro, North Carolina. And there is policy, he says,
Hi, big fan, We're big fans of you. Policy, and I
will see you this evening for retro spectrum radio with policy. All right,
let's get to it without further Ado. This is what you are about to
hear is magnificence. This is again the name of the band is Jerry Robinson's
Mailbox Dog. And on the track with him, Jerry Robinson has Eric Pincher,
who is actually Eric Pilcher, but apparently his stage name is Eric Pincher,
playing guitar smoking Smoking on the guitar and the great Billy Painter on drums
from Outlaw Radio. Billy Painter fantastic. And by the way, looking at
the artwork for the single, it's interesting. It looks like two insurance salesman
and a guy from Duck Dynasty. But it does. But that's what it
looks like. But anyway, you're a guy from Duck Dynasty. That's what
That's what it looks like to me. But without further ado, here,
Oh my god, you are gonna love this. This is this is great
Jerry Robinson's Mailbox Dog playing in New Orleans. Check this out, one,
two, three four, all right on the corner called the New Orleans.
Everybody's having a new time. Yeah, we're gonna rocket rolling it here town,
babe, gonna New Ridge and h oh, come on up people now
in joint you'll find boys feeling nervous to cool down. We're gonna play it
down in New Orleans. And Louisian playing gout in New Orleans. Me that
Los Breed playing it down in New Orleans and say, yain't's winding and winding
my hand down? Yeah, like to be a big rock in the start
trying to make a little funding. I got no way it's gonna work.
It's hard, Nabby. Can't you take my harnty? Do win? You
when you got in the police shake you an stread playing gout in ther plies
at the DC. Yeah, yea't waving and winding my hand all right,
by Eric, Good time to get funing meal men, working sons trying to
make a little money. And I got no bring the donna works hard.
Stayby. You can take mine corny with you. Stand out in the morning,
sack me like us reread standing out of Morley and this day Hi Hi
Si Yeah, all the best Jerry, Jarry r y Wow. I mean
what else can you say? Wow? Stunner, Yes, yes, check
out Billboard. Jerry Robinson's video chronicles is the YouTube channel and uh that guy
um and uh his YouTube videos are great too. And he's got a radio
show, The Crazy Jerry Show, just fantastic. And I've I often say
I think he's the next rated art comedy star, the next Howard Stern.
Jerry Robinson, He's the guy right there, damn. Eric Pilcher in the
chat room, he says, regarding the recording of that, I just picked
up the guitar and ripped. It was magic, just ripped. Yeah.
All the calls are starting to come in. People are people are very excited
for this world radio premiere. Hi, welcome to Matt Connerton Unleashed. Who's
this hello, Matt? So this is Jerry Robinson. Oh my god.
You know, Jerry, It's always wonderful to talk with you, but now
I feel like I'm talking to a bonifide rock star, big big fan here,
Jerry. Yeah, DJ Reckless he's on board. Guys, thank you
so much for playing my very very first actual real song. It's it's been
I mean, I know it's been a couple of benits since I have got
tall to you. But I could not have done it but got my great
friend Eric Pincha and Billy Painter. Yeah, those guys are just magic in
the studio. Clearly, I really think you got a bonafide like top one
Billboard hit coming soon on the rock charts. Man, I really do top
one hundred. I may call my people, I say, probably top seventy
five at least. Let me call my people. Thank you guys very much.
We've been dozens and dozens of dollars on that recording. Billy Painter.
He knocked out the drums and one single take didn't even spreak a sweat.
Eric Pincher laid down that sexy guitar riff and all the stuff, And to
be quite frankly, I don't understand why I screamed Jerry in the middle of
the song, but I guess it just felt right. I must tell you
I was a little bit puzzled by that as well, but that's okay.
It's just it's all rock and roll. And I love the name Jerry Robinson's
mailbox Dog. What a great name. I mean, if you had just
called it mailbox Dog, I would have been like, oh, that's not
very cool. But Jerry Robins, You're right, talk by itself is kind
of you know. I I tooled around with a couple of different names,
like, well, there's one particularly I can't exactly say over the radio,
but one of them was like Jerry and the scumbags and all sorts of stuff.
And then I thought, oh, my goodness, Jerry Robinson's mailbox Dog.
What a dream team right there? Yes, yes, it's just Scott.
It's it's just a magical name. People will hear that name and say
I got to hear some of that. Yeah, I kind of a part
to me kind of wishes you would have played the intro, but I'm the
stand that you have very limited radio time. Yeah. Yes, if y'all
want to see the full the full song plus the intro of me explaining everything
and kind of sticking it to an individual, you can find me out over
on YouTube, of course, at the Crazy Jerry Show. Yes, yes,
everyone needs to check out the Crazy Wait is it I thought it was.
Is that the YouTube channel? Well, I believe that's the at handle,
But of you can find me at Jerry Robinson's video chronicle. Oh okay,
that's what I was I was confused about. I want to make sure
that people know exactly where to find you, Jerry yet, because you are
the next rated art comedy star. You are the next hour at Stern and
you might you might just be the next David Lee Roth. Oh wow,
David Lee Roth. I mean, he's pretty big shoos to fill. H
But listen, I couldn't have done it without you either, Matt. When
you stayed on the phone with me for four hours helping me send a file
over email, that made it so simple and easy to send you that file
for the song. It was worth it, my friend, it was it
was worth it. I remember that night, oh yeah, oh yeah,
I had to go without dinner because Matt didn't cook. M that's right,
that's right. I remember that. I still feel pretty bad about it.
But but you're a great listen, guys. I hope you have a fantastic
rest of your day. Thank you so much for showing up. Jerry's Jerry
Robinson's mailbox dog all the best, Jerry, All right by Jerry. Guys.
Good for Jerry Robins. This is fantastic, just great stuff, great
stuff. They're gonna have a big summer. Yes, the Astronomical the World
radio premiere. Outstanding. H if you are just joining us, Oh,
by the way, Isaac Banks in the chat room helpfully points out David Lee
Roth was the lead singer of Van Halen. Good job in Greensboro, North
Carolina. They're very focused on education and making sure people know things, which
is important, which is important if you're just joining us. By the way,
we have a lot of great stuff today. We have in just a
little bit, uh, Eric Pilcher's classic film review. So you get a
double dose of Eric Pilcher. You get Eric Pincher and Eric Pilcher, and
this week the subject is the film Raiders of the Lost Arc, the original
Indiana Jones film. And then in the second hour we're gonna be joined in
studio by Hue the Gecko, who will be performing live for us. But
meanwhile, if you'd like to get in with the call, you certainly can.
The studio line is open six zo three two five six seven six zo
three two five zero six zoo seven. You can also text us at six
one seven nine one seven four four seven six. I'm on social media at
Matt Connerton. You can email me Matt Matt Connerton dot com. And of
course you can interact end O Pine in the Facebook live chat. But the
best thing to do so that we can hear and enjoy your dulcet tones is
to give us a call at six zo three two five z six z seven
six zo three two five six seven. Um. By the way, a
lot of a lot of big news, uh with the Supreme Court this week.
That's going to require a deep dive. I don't think we really have
time for it today, but it's gonna require two shows. Dude. Oh
yeah, yeah, there's there was a lot, uh, new new decisions
handed down today. Um, but it's um, it's pretty remarkable. Uh
and um, but not surprising the student debt. Out of everything, I
thought the student debt decision was the most predictable. Um, I'll say that.
I mean the administration had to know that was coming, and I'm sure
they did know. Oh and supposedly, but I must have already happened.
Wait wasn't I did hear about the colleges can't discriminate against color? Well?
What that was? So? What that is? It effectively ends affirmative action,
or at least as we've known it at colleges, so that colleges can
no longer Now they were never able to have a quota system. That's uh,
that's prohibited. But um, but they were able to put more weight
on bringing in uh students who are who are black Americans? You know,
for example, because I first, I will be honest with you, colleges
are some of the most Some of these colleges are some of the most racist
people I've ever seen in my life. Like I've seen sororities and frats that
have not had a single person of color, and it disgusts me. It
disgusted me, that's interesting that that's yeah, that's that's local colleges too.
That's not an angle that I would have thought of. But but that is
interesting because if yeah, because part of why colleges like to be able to
colleges like to be able to generally most colleges, certainly not all. I'm
sure like to have a degree of diversity on campus. But you're right because
if you if college is now and by the way, where this has already
been done, because I think college is in California. I think in California
there's a law, there was already a law in the books saying that collegists
could no longer make a you know, effectively, collegist could no longer have
affirmative action. And they did see a whitening, if you will, of
their college campuses just far less diverse. I think it was in California,
which is surprised you're telling me the universe the deve Alabama it isn't like racist,
Okay, Alabama has always been racists. Well, I wouldn't paint with
such a broad brush. I would there are are people in Alabama who sure
a racist. I mean, you're going to find you're certainly going to find
in a place like Alabama, I would assume more and more. Yes,
uh, that is the Okay, I'll wheeld that back a little bit.
That is the the Deep South. And uh uh but I I do think,
uh, but your your point is interesting in that if there's less diversity
on campus, and certainly you are going to see less diversity and uh fraternities
and sororities and um, part of that might just be a function of of
you know, like here in New Hampshire, obviously we're a very white state
to begin with. You know, Manchester, being the largest city in the
state, is is ethnically diverse, and so as Nashua. But you get
out of these cities and it's it's it's pretty uh you know, it's a
pretty white place. So so some of that's baked into the cake, and
that you're just not going to see a ton necessarily of diversity on college campuses
here to begin with, just because uh, you know, from students who
come from out of state, out of state students matriculating here, you're just
not going to see a lot of diversity to begin with. And most of
the kids that Coda's college up in here at least done in southern New Hampshire,
like saying as New like that those are kids from like mass Yeah,
that's mainly what it is. Yeah. Um, But what's interesting, oh,
Scott Robinson is in the chat he says, boy, those Republicans keep
on proving how much they stand up for the working folk A bunch of bees?
Can I say that? Well, I cleaned it up. Um,
you can say whatever you want to in the chat room, though we don't.
We don't censor the chat room. You can Melanie swears in there.
It's fine. Um, I'm just careful about and day in my life.
I'm just careful about what I read on the air. But what is interesting,
and this is why will you know, We'll we'll talk about it a
little bit now, obviously, but we'll sometimes in the week that we're back,
we'll we'll really do a deep dive on this. But just to get
into a little bit of the nuance around uh, that particular ruling, the
decision which was written by Chief Justice John Roberts, the majority decision on that
case. He was very careful to say that this does not mean that admissions
boards at these colleges that they can't consider somebody's personal story when making decisions about
admissions. So, for example, if someone submits an essay about and they
discuss in that in their admissions you know, the essay that they hand in
with admissions as a specific name for that, it's escaping me at the moment.
But if they discuss some of the hardship or or some of the challenges
that they've encountered because of their race or ethnicity, you can still consider that.
So it's not as though, because part of the practical issue is okay,
if you say to colleges, well, race can't enter into it at
all, then okay. So what do you do if you're in charge of
admissions and you get a letter from a potential student and they do talk about
race in their letter and some of what they've had to deal with. Do
you take that and say, oh, I got to burn this. I
can't even and then I have to try to wipe it from my memory because
I cannot allow anything in that letter to enter into my decision because they talked
about race. No, So he was careful in what he wrote to make
it clear that that can still play a role. But you just can't,
you know, you can't have it where someone is checking a box in terms
of their nationality, and then you use that that cannot play a role.
They are not quotas to begin with, but you can't but you can't have
them check a box. But it's so it's a little more nuanced than saying
it can't play any kind of a role, because again, someone can indicate
their background, their ethnic background, and and that can play a role.
It's it's going to be interesting because these colleges are going to have to figure
out, you know, because nobody wants to get sued. And part of
what might be a problem is if if a college looks like they're still taking
race into consideration, which again there is a mechanism for that, but if
they look like they're doing it too much, someone might sue. Or if
they look like they've overcorrected and now they're just trying not to take black students
because they're they're paranoid about getting into trouble. It's going to be difficult to
navigate these waters going forward. So I would rather they had left it alone.
You can you can make a conservative argument for actually not getting rid of
affirmative action in terms of colleges by saying, well, what about the right
of free association. Maybe that's more of a libertarian argument. But if if
you want these colleges to be able to take whatever students whoever they want to,
then maybe it's not the government's place to be telling them who they can
and cannot take and interfering with their admissions process. And therefore, if they
want to have an affirmative action process, they have a right to and who
is the government to tell them that they can't. You could argue it that
way if you want to give a pro It sounds counterintuitive, but if you
want to give sort of a pro affirmative action argument from a conservative perspective,
that's probably how I would do it. And if any of the conservatives on
the Supreme Court had decided to vote against striking down affirmative action at colleges,
that's probably how they would have approach it. You know, who are we
to say what a college can and cannot do in terms of how they admit
students. But it is likely to have an effect. I mean, you're
going to have less diverse colleges in the United States. I think there's no
getting around that. Chris Pourrier or I'm not sure if it's Poorior or Poorier.
I'm never sure how to say his name. But Chrispy is how he's
better known stand up comedian is in the chat room. He says, Supreme
Supreme courts newest may harm. Oh newest decisions may harm and cause and chaos.
To obstruct and help Trump anyway they can end is more proof of obstruction
and against the Constitution. For Pete's sake, Roberts is guilty of obstruction,
so it seems I wouldn't argue it that way, but I take your point,
Chrispy. Tom Blanchard joins us in the chat room and says a person's
name might give away a person's race. That's an interesting point. I hadn't
thought of that true. I mean that, you know, obviously a limited
circumstance. That's true. Miriam Bannis joins us in the Facebook live chat and
says good afternoon and hello Miriam. Also, Jenny is in the chat and
says shalom peeps. Isaac Banks says, what's with ex President Trump? Well,
that's another broad question we can do a deep dive on um. Scott
Robinson says they should also disallow large donors, so that little pete Vanderbilt can't
get in. Well, that's another thing that's come up in this is the
legacy where you know, somebody who's very successful, shall we say, someone
who's very wealthy, who does donate to a school and then there because they
went there, it's their alma mater, they're they're a an alumni or alumni
is it? Would it be a lump yeah, alumnus if they're an alumnus,
alumni would be the plural, the Latin plural. Uh. You know,
should there should their son or daughter automatically yet to get in, and
should should legacy be considered? I think that's what what you're getting at scott
um So that was that was one one of the decisions. Uh. You
know, It's funny because people at myself included a lot of people were were
quite pleased with the recent support Supreme Court decision about uh keeping uh keeping out
the independent state legislature theory. But but this week, boy, I'll tell
you what a lot of that good will has gone. So anyway, Uh,
the point being, I don't I don't like that decision, the one
about the website designer. That one's a little more uh complex and nuanced and
I will will save that for when we do a deep dive. Um,
but because we we've got to get to Eric's review shortly. But uh so
there's a lot too, There's a lot to talk about. And I know
that the student debt one though, I I think that was the one you
brought up, right, you brought up the student debt first. Oh,
you brought up the colleges. Yeah, that in the LGBTQ decision, right
right, But the student debt, I mean you probably know a lot of
people in your peer group who that affects. Yeah, that one was not
a surprise to me. But I thought way back when Biden said, when
he signed an executive order saying the administration, you know, we will we
will forgive student debt, I thought at the time, No, this is
going to be trouble. What was the decision, Well, they struck it
down. They said the president doesn't have the authority to do that. Part
of the problem is there's a law called the Heroes Act, which was signed
into law in two thousand and three. And what the Hero's Act is supposed
to do is as I understand it, and I'm not an expert on it,
but basically, if you can have under the Heroes Act, you can
have your student debt forgiven. If say, for example, you have student
debt, but you are going to go and fight in the military. It
was done in kind sort of in the wake of nine to eleven. You're
going to go fight in the military, but you've got all this student debt.
Well you can get your debt forgiven or deferred or whatever. So so
something can be done for you so that this debt doesn't continue to be a
burden. That's what the law was originally for. The Biden administration said,
well, we're acting within the scope of the law. We're saying, because
of the pandemic, it is an unfair burden. So they tried to use
the pandemic as the reason. Because of the pandemic, it's an unfair burden
for people to continue to have to have to continue to pay this this debt
where you know, people are losing their jobs and again, you know,
in the early days of the pandemic, with the shutdowns and everything, people
are getting laid off, people are losing their jobs, but they still have
all this debt. So of course there were deferments on the debt. But
then Biden said you know what we're going to do student loan forgiveness. He
was under a lot of pressure from the left to do that, and they
tried to use the Heroes Act, and they said they were acting within the
scope of the law. Well, they might have been acting, from their
perspective, within the letter of the law, but there's the letter of the
law and the spirit of the law, and that is not what the Heroes
Act was supposed to be four. So they were not acting within the spirit
of the law. And apparently the Supreme Court said they also were not acting
within the letter of the law, and so they struck that down and said,
no, you can't do this. But I saw a trouble with that
right from the beginning. I from the beginning, I was skeptical that they
were going to get away with that. So, but that is horrendous defeat
politically for the Biden administration. I mean that's because I don't see now supposedly
he was speaking today and that might have already happened about that. I don't
know what else they can do. There is not much. I mean,
it seems to me it's a dead issue now. The Supreme Court struck that
down. I don't know what else they can without control of Congress. And
it's really and even among Democrats, it's only the you know, like Bernie
Sanders and people like that. You know, well, he's not a Democrat
technically as an independent, but it's really just the left of the Democratic Party
that would ever go for that. Anyway, moderate Democrats really didn't want much
to do with it. So, yeah, a big week at the Supreme
Court's that's for sure. That is for sure. Well, we've we've got
to get to Eric's review shortly because we have Huey the Gecko coming in.
Oh, by the way, one other thing, one other thing I wanted
to mention. I don't know if you've been following this at all or not,
but yesterday on the show, I talked about how um I was.
I was hoping that Tom Golly and I could be friends again. Tom Golly
from the Tom Goalie Show, because he was very mad at me. It
was two years ago. Now he's very mad at me because I had Jesseps
from Pod Awful on my show and Tom was having a lot of problems with
Jesseps and the pot Awful cult and kind of used me as a scapegoat.
I felt blame me for everything, even though it wasn't me. I just
stumbled into the situation. So then two nights ago, Tom Gully starts his
show up again on YouTube, the Tom Gully Show, and he does an
eight hour and eight Well actually he was on for more than eight, but
eight hours of that he ended up with guess who jesseps from pot Awful,
So Jesse's on that stream with him. They went for eight hours. I
listened to part of it and then I was getting tired, and but I
checked it the next day eight hours. So then I'm thinking, oh my,
well, this is great. Obviously they're cool now. No, well
that's what I thought. It was very friendly. They had great chemistry.
They're joking around, their laughing, they're having a great time. And I
thought, well, if Tom's cool with Jesse, now clearly it's all water
under the bridge. It's been a couple of years. If he's cool with
Jesse, he must be cool with me. Right. So after my show
yesterday, I see Tom Gully pop up on YouTube. He's streaming, so
I was like, you know what, I'm gonna call Tom. I'm gonna
call Tom show. I called. I'm thinking if he's cool with Jesse,
he's got to be cool with me. I call into his show. He
immediately swears at me and hangs up. Apparently he's still furious with me.
And then I called back and I tried to kind of steam roll him a
little bit. I just started talking and he ended up hanging up on me
again. I put the clip up on YouTube for anyone who wants to see
it. But it's so weird, and I don't understand the whole reason he
was mad at me to begin with. Unless I misunderstood something, is because
I had Jesse on my show and Tom felt that that was some sort of
a betrayal or something. But then Tom just sit in an eight hours stream
with the guy eight hours on YouTube, so sure to say about that?
What am I supposed to think? So anyway, I don't think. I
guess not. I guess not. Tom Gully will always hate me, and
that's too bad. I still like Tom. Maybe someday he and I can
find our way back to each other. Maybe it sounded wrong, but you
know what I mean. But I'm gonna take the I'm gonna continue to take
the high road. But but I don't want him judging me either. He
should not judge me for associating with someone he just spent eight hours on YouTube
with. Yeah, yeah, you're not wrong, I know, right,
Thank you, thank you. I appreciate that I'm not wrong. Damn it
anyway. Oh well, yeah, all right, So before we hit the
review, because I know you have to leave soon to get out of here,
remind us what you've got going on tonight six out of three barn Girl,
back to back Saturday, and for tonight and Saturday, I don't know
what date is anymore. They just bleed into each other. You've been you've
been working really hard. Hey, money ain't gonna make itself, that's right,
Ken, but it's illegal. But no Friday, Saturday nights six out
of three, bar and grill, Independence Day weekend, yes, yes,
five day weekend not four. Yeah. Basically, yeah, you're right.
I'm taking a week off and then next week Bernie's Beach Bar with Sammy Adams
and Collie Buds sold out and yeah outstanding. Oh and we should remind people
to how to spell DJ Reckless. You can find me on Instagram at dj
r e k LSS. And I'm not changing the spelling of that. Okay,
good even though everyone spells it wrong. I've I've come to the point
where everyone spells my last name wrong and my DJ name wrong. So it's
just like, hey, why not at this point? Yeah, here's just
use to it. I saw my last name spelled seven different seven different ways
last week. Wow. Yeah, that's got to be a record. Or
maybe it's not to be. No, it definitely is. All right,
very good, DJ Reckless, thank you so much, and we are going
to Now I'm gonna go ahead and hit the review. This week. Eric
Pilcher has reviewed Raiders of the Lost Dark. And then we'll show some love
to our amazing sponsors. And then when we come back, Hue the Gecko
will be here with us, live in studio. Really looking forward to this.
So there is plenty more Matt Connerton Unleashed coming up. Don't go anywhere.
Neo meaning new and lithic I I see meaning stone. All right,
let's get back to this site. Thirteen Barrel near Hazelton contains a central past
passage and three chambers or cysts confuse that Mcrobby, in which case between the
removal of the contents of the barrel. This site also demonstrates one of the
great dangers of archaeology, not to life and limb, although that does sometimes
take place. Now I'm talking about folklore. In this case, local tradition
held that there was a golden coffin bury at the site, and this accounts
for the holes doug all over the barrow and the general like poor condition of
the fine. However, chamber three was undisturbed, and the undisturbed chamber and
the grave goods that were found in another in the area give us a reason
to h to date this. Frind, as we have, um any questions,
is okay, that's it for the day. Then um, don't forget
Michael thon chapters four and five or next time, and I will be as
on Thursday, but not Wednesday. I had it, Marcus, I had
it in my hand. What happens, yes, Bell Luck want to hear
about it? Not at all. I'm show everything he would do for the
music, Amaton films, to the International Treaty for the Protection of Anti.
It's beautiful, Marcus. I can get it. I got it all figured
out. Just making the place you can sell at Marsh. I need two
thous and ives. Listen to the five brooks of people to see you look,
I got these pieces. They're good pieces, Marcus as the Musam will
buy them as usual, no questions. I was, Yes, they are
nice and worth at least the price of ticket to America. The ship Life
World for Importance, and the waiting Intelligence and were coming before I did see
how everything tell me what they want? What do I want to see them?
For? What am I in trouble? Cereals are a major staple of
early American cinema. Hundreds of men, women, and children would flock to
local movie houses every week to catch the latest adventures of Zoro, Batman,
Flash, Gordon Tarzian in many others. The influences of these episodic films inspired
genres such as science fiction in action adventure. It also provides the influence for
this week's film in a franchise that has been one of the best for over
forty years. Released in nineteen eighty one, directed by Steven Spielberg and based
on a story by Star Wars director George Lucas, Raiders of the Lost Arks
starts the Indiana Jones franchise, and many argue Harrison Ford's greatest role and takes
place in nineteen thirty six as Jones an archaeologist, takes on the mission to
battle Nazis VYE to gain control of the all powerful Lost Stark of the Covenant.
Aiding Jones is former love interest Marion Ravenwood, played by Karen Allen.
Our opening clip was an introduction to Jones, an archaeology professor by day that
moonlights as an adventurous archeologist finding treasures for a museum. Our next two clips
provide more introduction to these characters. Jones in Ravenwood first, in a direct
continuation from our introductory clip, India is tasked by Army intelligence to go on
a mission defined the famed Low Stark before the Nazis do. Then we will
hear the terse reunion between Marion and Indie, former lovers bought together by world
saving circumstances and Jones, great deal have you? Professor of ideology experts on
the occult And I just wanted to say, it's obtainer of rare antiquities.
What I was saying, why don't you sit on You're do more to comfort
maka. Thank you. Yes, you're a man of many talents and you
studied under Professor Ravenwood at the University of Chicago, yes, I did.
You have no idea of his present whereabouts, which is rumors really somewhere in
Asia. I think I haven't really spoken to him for ten years. We
were friends, but a bit of a folly on, I'm afraid, doctor
Jones Night. You must understand that this is all strictly confidentially. I understand.
Yesterday afternoon our European sections intercepted a German communicate. It is sent from
Cairo Uberlin. You see, over the last two years the Nazis have had
teams of archaeologists running around the world looking for all kinds of religious artifacts.
Hitler's a nuts on the subject. It's crazy. He's obsessed with the occult.
And right now apparently there's some kind of German archaeological dig going on in
the deserts outside of Kira. We've got some information here, but we can't
make anything out of it, and maybe you can, Tannis, development proceeding
choir headpiece staff of raw Abner Ravenwood Us Nazis have discovered Tennis. Just what
does that mean to you, Tannis? Well, the city of Tennis is
one of the possible resting places of the Lost Ark, the lowest art the
Ark of the cove, the chest the Hebrews used to carry around the Ten
Amendments. Heverybody may commanded about the Ten Commandments. Yes, the actual Ten
Commandments, the original stone tablets that Moses brought down out of Monterau and smashed.
If you believe in that sort of thing, do you think, guys
ever go to Sunday School. Well, oh, look, Hebrews took the
broken pieces and put them in the arc. When they settled in Canaan.
They put the ark in a place called the Temple of Salomn in Jerusalem,
where it stayed for many years until all of a sudden worsh is gone where
well, nobody knows where or when. However, an Egyptian pharaoh Yes invaded
the city of Jerusalem run about nine at PC, and they may have taken
the art back to the city of Tennis and hidden it in a secret chamber
called the Well of Souls Secret Chamber. However, about a year after the
pharaoh had returned to Egypt, the city of Tennis was consumed by the desert
in the sand storm, which lasted a whole year, wiped clean by the
law of God. Obviously, we've become to the right men now you seem
to know all about this town. No, no, not really. A
Ravenwood is the real expert. Edner did the first serious work on tennis,
collected some of its relics. What's this obsession? Really? But I never
found the city. Frankly, where somewhat suspicious in mister Ravenwood American being mentioned
so prominently in a secret Nazi cable rubbish raven Woods the Nazi? Well,
what did the Nazis wanting for then? Well, obviously the Nazis are looking
for the headpiece to the staff of rad and they think Abner's got it.
What exactly is a headpiece to the staff of ra Well, the staff is
just a stick. I don't know about this big nobody really knows for sure
how high it's. It's uh cha, an elaborate headpiece and shape of the
sun with a crystal in the center. And what you did was you take
this staff to a special room and Tagi's a map room at the miniature of
the city, all laid out on the floor. And if you put the
staff in a certain place at a certain time of day, the sun shone
through here and made a beam that came down on the floor. Here and
gave you an examp location of the Well of the Souls where the ark of
the couple of which yep, she's exactly what the Nazis are looking for.
What does this art look like? Kay? Was a picture of it right
here? That's good God, Yes, that's just what the Hebrews thought.
Now what's that supposed to be coming out of there? But me? Fire
caller? Guys, you can't understand Hitler's interestedness. Oh yes, the Bible
speaks of the arc leveling mountains and laying waste to entire regions, an army
which carries the art before it is invincible. And now Marian, and indeed,
yeah, hello Marian. India. Always new some day you'd come walking
back through my door. I never doubted that something made it inevitable. So
what are you doing here in Nepal? I need one of the pieces your
father collected. I learned to hate you in the last ten years. I
never meant to hurt you. I was a child, I was in love.
It was wrong, and you knew it. You know what you were
doing. Now I do? This is my place. Get out on,
damn we get a bully. I did what I did. You don't have
to be happy about him, and maybe we can help each other out.
Now, I need one of the pieces your father collected. Bronze piece about
this size with a hole in it, off center with the crystal. You
know the one? I mean, yeah, I know it. Where's appening?
Where's Abner Abner's did hurry? Sorry? Do you know what you did
to me? To my life? I can only say I'm sorry so many
times. We'll say it again anyway. Sorry, Yeah, everybody's sorry.
Apnur siged for dragging me all over the start looking for us a little bits
of junk. I'm sorry to still be stuck in this dive. Everybody.
Sorry, something it's a worthless bronze with down. You're married, You're gonna
give it to me? Maybe I don't know where it is? Well,
maybe you could find it. Three thousand bucks. We'll get me back.
I can get to another two when we get to the stage. It's an
important trust me. You know the piece, I mean, you know where
it is? Come back tomorrow because I said so. That's why see you
tomorrow. Indiana Jones, a great action adventure film, is as only as
good as as hero, and conversely, the hero is only as good as
the villain. Besides the aforementioned Nazis, this film has the nefarious doctor Renee
Bella played by Paul Williams. Bellak is not the typical villain that moviegoers encounter
during this era. Uh He was not loud, angry, and hot tempered.
He is cold, callous, and deliberate, so much so it might
even be considered charming. Our next two clips are examples of this. First
Indie encounters his rival while he is intoxicated after believing Marian has died. Then
Ballot confronts Marian after capturing her. But the Jones in the bamacin speck Comans
have been the Midlands. You're looking for me, Bellock, good afternoon enough
the Jones, I gotta kill you right now. But a very private place
for an idea. Well, these are don't care we kill each other.
They're not going to interfere in our business. It wasn't I who bought the
girl into this business. Please sit down before you fall down. We can
at least behave like civilized people. I see your taste in France remains consistent.
I want that you should in this way for us. After so many
stimulating encounters, I almost regret it. When shall I find a new adversary
so close to my own level? Try the local sewer. You and I
are very much alike. Archaeology is our religion, yet we have both fallen
from the pew faith. Our methods of not different as much as you pretend.
I am a shadowy reflection of you. Don't take only a nudge to
make you like to push you out of the like, No, you're getting
massed, you know it's true. A nice look at this. It's worthless
ten dollars from a vendor in the street, but I take it. I'm
buried in the sand for a thousand years. It becomes priceless. Like they
art, men willking for it. Men were like you and me? What
about your boss the fear? I thought he was waiting to take possession.
All in good time. When I'm finished with Jones, do you realize what
the art is. It's a transmitia. It's a radio for speaking to God,
and it's within my reach. You want to talk to God, let's
go see him be head. I've got nothing better. That's time and yeah,
the jugs of the big wad and gender and to save you, I
thought I would find you there as in the United States Marines Day, there
is dead yes, I know, I'm sorry. It goes on in me.
There is the clue. I'm much to tell you lust. We will
take that home and then I'm taking to the old man next Belloc and Marian.
If you're trying to escape on foot, the desert is three weeks in
every direction, so please eat something. I must apologize for the treatment of
you. Yeah, I who you wanted? No food, no word.
The kind of people friends are yours, that's particular. I'm a listen for
my word. They are necessary evils, not my friends. However, there
are connections. Even in this part of the world. We are not entirely
uncivilized. Beautiful. I would very much like to see you in it.
Oh Betty one, all right, when you get to drink around here,
I don't know how much time. Soon they will come to um and I
will love to be able to stop them unless you are able to give me
something to complicate them to your self, information which I can't used to protect
you from them. I've already told you everything I know. I have no
loyalty to Jones. It's probably nothing but trouble, and you are beautiful.
I don't think you need a shopher. So many of the common tropes of
action adventure films are excellently applied in this film. With that being said,
of course, there has to be a love story, and this film has
one that is the one between of course, Marian and doctor Jones. As
a matter of fact, it's a story that stretches across the entire franchise.
In our final clip, Marion proceeds to help in the clean up following a
battle in the relationship begins to grow again. This scene also features one of
the most well known lines in the entire franchise. Where'd you get that from
him? Good teller? I got a feeling I'm not the first woman to
travel with these pirates. Lovely, Yeah, yeah, what'd you say?
I don't even not the man I knew ten years ago. Years. It's
the mileage. I don't need a nurse. I just want to such a
babe, Bi Brad. Yes, where hasn't it hurt here? Here?
Jones? Jones. It never seemed to get a break ding. This film
was released during a brief dry spell for Hollywood. Business had been down for
the past year. It was fell by many that this film would be buried
going up against such films as Superman two, For Your Eyes Only and The
Great Muppet Caper that, coupled with very low awareness regarding the film, had
paramount prepared for the absolute worst. Despite everything going against it, the film
became the highest grossing film of nineteen eighty one. It generated over three hundred
and thirty million dollars worldwide. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards,
including Best Picture and Best Director. It won five for Best Art Direction,
Best Film Editing, Best Sound, Best Sound Editing, and Best Visual Effects.
The film has been a jug er not in marketing as well, spawning
video games, TV spinoffs, action figures, novels, trading cards, and
so forth. It has been an influence on characters such as Laura Croft from
Tomb Raider. Finally, this film spanned four sequels that have been released over
the last forty two years. The final film premiered on June twenty nine,
twenty twenty three. To know what a great franchise this series is, one
must see where it began, and you will see it is deserving of its
place in the upper tier of all time grades. I hope you will join
me in two weeks when we will go on a vacation with the lovable comedic
Ris Walt film. Our film will be National Lamp Queen's Vacation for w m

him. And by the way, Dylan Reynolds in the chat room says,
this is weird but cool mashup of different styles. I want to call it
robot rock. Lots of electronic elements to it. Thank you. That's interesting.
Yeah, at least that song anyway, I robot rock. That is
a good descriptor. Yeah. Recently wrote a song called robot Traffic with Jim
Hurley, who's actually the fourth shadow member of our crew, and I posted
a photo of the four of us. Uh So, Jim's kind of here
in spirit. We were late, so we couldn't have a guy loading a
full live kit. He will try and do that next time. Well,
very good, very good. Um, you want to We're tight on time,
so you want to just keep going? You got yeah? Should we
jump right into reject logic? Is there one that says reject on it?
Probably that sounds familiar. Let's see here, Um, oh I see it?
Yes, all right, let me download that. All right, I've
got it. Just let me know whenever you are, whenever you are ready.
Yeah, we're cool. All right? You all right? You got
it? Very very good. Here here you go. Should we the get
go live in studio? Rechecked your logical conclusion? It leads to anger.
Your shepherd dies from your friends. You never know where it ends. Reject
your logical conclusion leads to anger. Your shepherd dies, your friends. You
never know where it ends. Hey, reject, don't let it lead to
anger if it does. Use that productively, Yeah, use that abruptively.
It's anger. Gotta let it, Gotta let it bok, Gotta let it
cook, Gotta let it out, Gotta building up inside you. You gotta
hide it, gotta express it, Gotta and trash without putting it out.
You have the bodes that you want to send out. What leads you to
it? Don't let it be your love. Don't yet your love lead you
to anger. Reject your logical conclusion that leads to anger. Shepherd dies your
friends. You have no where it is building up inside? How you gonna
hide? How are you gonna express anger without sending a body? Don't mess
it all up with your anger up? What leads you to anger? How
do you visit? Don't misrepresent it? Hey looking for answers, no mistake,
happy accidents along the ways. All it takes. Certain if it is
means a random moment with a positive outcome. How come that is? It's
just the best wrong places, wrong places. I put my head inside a
bunch of different bases, smash them all over the places, breaking family bases.
That's a friction. I like. That's a friction. I like breaking
traditions, family wishing. I wouldn't change wishing I would with a little destruction.
Here, we're about to create something. I don't know. I gotta
go, I said, I don't know, I gotta go. How come
that is? It's just the biz, It's just the biz. I don't
know I gotta go, I gotta go. I like that. I like
the lyrics. Is some practical advice there about what to do with your anger?
That's good. Yeah. Over here it's gotta channel it a little more.
But I like what he did here. Yeah. Oh no, you
broke here, you broke her spoon. Yeah, I grabbed that from the
kitchen today. Oh really yeah? Yeah, he only destroyed my things.
Nothing on connorton set, which was what I told him. The rules were
said, nothing. Don't destroy anything in studio today. No, No,
that would be very bad. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. We
practiced a little bit of control, only a little bit, but we practiced
some form of it. Yeah. Yeah, then you guys sound good.
Now, Now, last time you were here with with Aaron Bilido, do
you do you kind of switch it up in terms of who you guys work
with or how does okay? So with the experimental indie thing, I guess
you're seeing really the core of it today. Yeah. I gave the new
songs that I have unpublished here a run. I gave these a run at
the Strange Brew recently in the recording that we did there with Scottie. That
was the same songs here with Phil. Phil's not uh percussionist or a drummer
by trade, but we're seeing the intensity and the energy that he has and
we're liking it and we're trying to harness that in a way. His name
is Phil, uh Phil. Norville Rodgers Rogers is Shaggy from Scooby Doo.
Got oh, okay, gotcha, And the same way I use Hue the
Gecko as my alias. When he appears on my uh my music, he
appears as Norville. Okay, I accidentally overstepped in my boundaries and I just
I supposed him. Just then? What about what about Tom? Is he
always Tom? Tom? Wait? What's what's Mike? Oh? Mike,
Oh, Mike. Mike One times appears as Mike Monoxide alias is Mike from
Off the Map, And today he said, I'll just be Mike. Okay,
Yeah, sorry, Mike, I don't know where I got to know.
No, you look like a time to me, We'll cycle a Tom
in. We'll put Tom in the mix if we meet him. Nah to
you don't want Tom. Yeah, I can come to next time. Yeah,
you can be Mike. It's all right, but very much so with
them today, Like I said, I wanted to show you a different side
with the I like how the callers said a little bit electronic. Yeah,
I wanted to show a little bit of electronic side. When I came with
Aaron last time, I wanted to show some more of the psych rock and
rock focused elements. And he's like a twenty five year professional in the biz,
so I also wanted him for the stability, and today I wanted these
guys for the lack of stability. Yeah, yeah, because I wanted to
show that we could do the contrast the wild we could be professional. Phil,
We're still figuring out where that balance is, right right, all right
factor yeah yeah, yeah, so we're we're you know, when we get
Jim in the studio with Phil two, I think it's a very good cohesive
unit because Jim is very well accomplished charmer, and the two of them bouncing
off each other and they have a sink that me and Phil kind of have
and then it starts to really blend. Well. So yeah, but I'm
happy with this combination here. So I was like, let's bring it in
and you know what we got Yeah yeah, cool, Well, if you
want to play, so we've got uh we've got about fifteen minutes left.
I'm just keeping you apprized of the time so that in case there is anything
that you definitely wanted to make sure you get in, you know, if
you want to, if you want to prioritize. Plus I I know you
had a poem too, and the poem I just threw in there. That
was the Okay family basis. But I have the five minute one with seventy
four BPN but it's kind of edgy. It has no swears, but it's
a little edgy. Yeah, that's okay. Um, what's what's it?
What's five minutes? Seventy four bpm? Oop? I can't put that on
with those? Is there one in there? I'm not. I wonder if
it's in the reptile um Medley? Oh I see it, yea reptile Medley?
Got it? Got it? Did I go somewhere from my pick?
Just now? All right? I don't lose your mind. There she is?
Ah, all right, I've got the I've got the backing track ready,
so you whenever, whenever you're ready, I'll go ahead and I'll go
ahead and hit it. We've so far not broken anything. You when I
when I go out on a Yeah. Yeah, our equipment. Let's go
out on a high note, though very much. I'm ready. All right,
here we go. Wait a minute, Okay, here we go.
Hey man, I haven't seen you in a while. Hey man, I
haven't seen you in a while. What brings you out today? I pause,
remove my glasses and I say, Hi, I'm here. He the
get go. I'm a reptile, nocturnal. I only come out at night.
It's where you see me in the sunlight. Today. I'm getting paid
for my time to say. If you don't know you're worthy, they'll do
you dirty. Won't pay you for your show or your style. That'll make
a reptile not smile. Hey. So the reason that I'm grinning is because
I'm slowly winning them over. So I'm from now on me see me at
day or night. Hey, Hey, it's hey. Hey, it's through
the rain, in pain, in vain. The harder I tried, the
longer, the bigger I get. Hey, let's fall the dirt doesn't hurt.
Yeah, go full send, Risk it all again, risk it all
again, play it safe and don't embarrass yourself. Hey, God for Fred,
you express yourself freely? See me, I see you do. I
look stock up too, Do you look stick up to? Maybe they haven't
gotten the chance because I haven't seen these people dance. But play it safe,
don't embarrass yourself. Take a chance by dan one more time. Here
we go me up. Hey, hey man, have seeing you in a
while. Let's brings you out today. I pause, remove my glasses and
I say, hey, hi, smile here mean the guy go, I'm
a reptile colonel. Only come out at night. It's where you see me
in the sunlight. It's where you see me in the sunlight. And today
getting paid for my time. They say, if you don't do your riggy,
then they'll do your dirty. Won't pull you, hey, won't pay
you for your show or your style. Yeah, donna make a rep tile
not smile. See. The reason that I'm bringing is because I'm slowly winning
them over. Yeah. So when you see me at day or night,
I'm sober and I'm getting paid. Do the rain or the pain in vain.
The harder I tried, the longer, the bigger I get. Best
to fall to end the dirt doesn't hurt, doesn't hurt, go full send,
do it all again? Hey, hey, play it's sake, don't
embarrass yourself all I can, God forbid you express yourself freely? See me,
I see you? Look, what do we do? What do we
do? Maybe I haven't given then the chance? Maybe I haven't given a
chance. Dance dance, dance dance? Well, very nice, Get into
that one, y'all. Do well? You both do that One's got a
little bit of an edge to it, right right, yeah, yeah,
yeah. Uh So we've got about ten minutes left. Do you want to
do you want to play another one? Or what do you want to do?
Okay? Um, Mike, you wanna just give me some kind of
like a backing and I don't know how to work with it. Just give
me like a little uh and can you just give me one ones on the
rock? Just that's it? So? Is it? Is this? Like?
So? Is this improvisational? Is that what you're doing? Or I
know this one? Oh? Okay, gotcha? Consumption production does it add
up to something? Consumption production does it add up to something? I think
it all checked up? Bunchingping, But will he produce? Squez him mica
lem until he makes some sum juice consumed produce, consume, produce, squeeze
milk a lem until I make them suo juice. Money doesn't matter, it
means nothing, it doesn't to nothing. It's juice, consume, produce,
consumed, pretty, consumed pretty speech me like I'm untiling to make them.
Hey, hey, hey, gotta get back to work, gotta get back
to work. Give me a little squirt of the choice you made sweet me
like a lemon. You consume produced till we get to heaven. Yeah,
maybe it's hell. I can't hell consume produce, consumed, pretty, consumption,
production, It's all just a bunch of nothing. How apropole? He
muted it? Not on purpose? Oh that's funny. Accidentally on purpose.
I told Phil everything you did today to do with intent. Yes, I
always do. Heart. Yeah, well that's not exactly what I meant.
Exactly what I meant Phil. You guys, very good, very good?
Um do we well? Yeah, we got about we got six minutes.
I don't know if you want to do a quick one or do you just
want to talk for a couple of minutes. Let's want to talk for a
bit. Yeah yeah, yeah, maybe over there by the news desk.
Well, give Mike a break and ha sit over here. Yeah, if
you want, is that all right, Mike, thanks, yes, yes,
I like to swap the flow every night. So if you're just joining
us, we have a few either Gecko here along with Mike, and uh
who's also in the band off the map, and of course we have Norville
here or Phil, but Norville is your your stage name? Right? Yeah?
All right? So the Gecko is going to uh jump over there,
stands on that one. That's a head scratcher. Hey, we have a
we have a call. We have a call coming in and it might be
might be a fan of yours. We'll see, Uh who's online? Hi,
welcome to Matt Conners and unleash. Who's us? Hey? Not a
san that's the sucks? Oh no, all right, well I guess that
was not a fan. No, that's all right. I always say to
people that like the same It was the same way Eric said this earlier on
your show this week. The haters are fans. Yeah, of course,
of course. Well I mean it's like, if you get a reaction out
of people, isn't that what kind of matters the most? You know?
And and so I like, how do you categorize that? Like I always
find that if somebody reacts to what we're putting out, which is love with
love. That's great. But a reason that I brought the chaos neutral today
was to kind of let the where you go. That's wild, that's crazy.
I know you're doing right right, all right, but I pull pull
out mike up mic actually actually both of you guys, if you want to
pull those mics up so we can here here you speak, Um, hello,
hello, whoops, sorry now my phone is going off. Um?
Who is chals um? Busy times? Yes, yes, yes, uh
no, but I mean, you know, getting a reaction out of people.
I mean, that's uh what happens when you play out. I mean
generally, obviously there's some people who are going to dig it, but this
I'm sure there's also some people who are just like what is this? Yeah?
So last time we played out, we did getto fest, which we
talked to you about there, which is my production. Um. And in
between that, I um, I put out like a renegade statement where I'm
like, hey, I'm hooking up to my one hundred and twenty volt battery
and playing wherever I want. And um. Jerry from Jerry and the Curls
in Providence, Rhode Island reached out to me he understood that vibe. He
had me come out to this wook and getaway. He had me play out
in front of the crowd, but he didn't book me as an act.
He just put me on to be a renegade and officially officially so and it
really landed well there. And so the electronic thing that people are talking about
there with the sound, I was trying to angle for that. You can
see me. I'm wrapping a Willist shirt today. Yeah, So I want
to shout out Jerry and the Curls, and I want to shout out will
Willist and and the gang down there in Providence and the rave review scene.
So and I'm becoming much a part of that because like um and, I've
always been focused in there. I just last time I was on here,
I wanted to mention the local scene, which still shout outs Faithan, shout
out Human Being, shout out Andrew North, shout out everybody that's here doing
the indie thing here in New Hampshire, wall In Park and faith In and
the Human Beings are bringing their gig down into Massachusetts. First show. So
you're on Facebook, check that out, maybe come out to the show tomorrow.
But um, I'm in Rhode Island a lot now because the Electric thing,
and I even went down there and I DJed and did a little bit
of a DJ and guitar thing. Yeah. So, um so, I
don't know, it's it's it's it's it's hard to hard to sometimes contain what's
what, what's all going on in Reptileville because it's a little spread out.
Yeah, it's like, Okay, all of a sudden, I'm doing a
blues sjam thing and strange brew and then the next night I'm in Providence at
a rave. Yeah, so it's like, Okay, the contrast there's extreme.
Yeah, that's cool though. That keeps that interesting, no doubt about
that. Uh yeah, we are, so we are bumping up against the
clock. I want to make sure people know where to find you online,
where people should go to keep up with everything that you're doing. Nowhere to
see you live and find the music that you've released and anything you want us
to know about. And if you got any shows this weekend that you want
to plug. Yeah. Yeah, Like I said, I really like the
uh that faith and I think she may even I don't know if Faithan has
a gig tonight even maybe she does check, but check out great than bands,
Humans, being wall in Park, they're all playing this weekend. I
however, I am. I just put out a new album called Flatmates with
Austin Groff that's streaming on Spotify under Huey the Gecko, so you can check
that out. And I know Mike's waiting for that Smam Gecko's album to drop
and he's like, where is that content? That's coming out soon too,
So but we just got to play a little live which is coolest. So
more to come Huey the Gecko. Mike ain't got no echo, just search
Huwey the Gecko. All right, well listen, gentlemen, Thank you to
all three of you for coming on today. This has been fun. And
I'll just tell the audience if you miss any part of today's show it we'll
