I know. I'm so you know, with the what channel we're on
on Comcast, I've heard you do it right yet, No, I definitely
have. I had a good street going. But then I just I go
on autopilot and I'm so used to because I can say it. I can
do the whole spiel the way I've been doing it without even thinking about it.
I mean literally without even thinking about it. The problem is, if
I'm not thinking about it, I get it wrong. Yep, yep,
yep, like anything, I suppose. We've got an exciting got an exciting
show for you today. Genius here and coming up in the second hour the
band Marvel Prone we'll be here with us live in studio. Now, they've
been on the show before for an interview, but this will be the first
time that they're joining us live in studio. So I'm sorry, the first
time they're gonna be playing for us live in studio. I should say they
were here live in studio before, but they're gonna actually play for us today
in the second hour, So really looking forward to that. Also, quick
programming note, we do not have the weekly segment that we do with my
favorite conservative Eric Pilcher. He had a bit of a scheduling conflict and once
again it's not able to be here this week, and we couldn't bring him
on in the second hour because we have a musical guest already, so we
will have to forego that. But that reminds me he's my favorite conservative.
Two oh, very good, very good. And uh and he does the
classic film reviews. I mean, come on, bonus. Now, that's
a that's a prerecorded segment, so we'll definitely have that for Friday. And
they're awesome, They're always awesome. Yes, yes, but Jenny is here,
and of course we do have Marvel Prone coming up tomorrow on the show.
We should mention two Iron Jaw. They're from Texas. Correct, Yes,
they're gonna be They're gonna be skyping in in the second hour from Texas.
Really great band are They're going to be sending you some tunage tonight.
Excellent, some brand new stuff. Very good. Yes, I'm looking forward
to having them back on. They were so great the first time they were
on. Yeah, yeah, I like them a lot. And uh,
if you're not familiar with him obviously, you know by the name Iron Jaw.
It's it's heavy so good stuff folk music. Oh, I didn't know
they had changed genres. Oh yeahs a man dan oh and a very large
bass. Uh huh, you know, not the kind you play the other
right right, Yes, a stand up bass. Very good. While we
look forward to that. That's a taller than me, I'll have I'll have
even more questions for them than I thought. I know, I'm I'm only
kidding. They are the wonderful heavy metal band that we love. And then
Friday on the show Crooked Cash, Yes, we'll be we'll be here with
us today or I'm sorry, on Friday. Rather, we'll be here with
us in studio. They've been on before too. Actually, so a lot
of return guests this week, which is we'll be playing live and they'll be
playing live. Yeah. They played live last time they were here and really
enjoyed it a lot and the audience was really into it. So so looking
forward to seeing those guys on Friday. So and by the way, if
you're listening to this right now and you're like, I need to get my

you can interact end O Pine in the Facebook live chat. But the best
thing to do so that we can hear and enjoy your dulcet tones is give
us a call at six zero three two five zero six zero seven. And
by the way, if you're just uh if this is the first time this
week that you've had a chance to catch the show, if you notice some
new theme music, that is the uh the brand new mister B I believe
is his name, the producer for Jerry Robinson and the Scumbags. He well,
I should know that I'm the bass player. Yes, it's mister b
Yeah. Yeah, he uh remixed the Commander's theme from the album Scum of
the Earth Uh and uh made a shorter version of it for my intro music
for the show, and I had absolutely love it. It's awesome. Absolutely,
the entire album is awesome. But to have that's that snippet or or
or would it be a riff snippet? It's a it's a riff. It's
a riff. Okay, to have that riff cemented to Matt Connaughton unleashed,
I mean to have them married together. Oh, I mean, where are
you gonna go? You have the greatest musician to ever live. Oh,
he truly is Jerry and the Scumbags. Yes, and I and I didn't
know either that this beginning part was a surprise. I had no idea that
he was going to add this. You are listening, Tom, and that's
pretty cool. That's awesome, that's really awesome. That's definitely really awesome.
Yes. Well, let's uh well quickly say hello everybody in the Facebook live
chat. Melanie Liberty looks to be the first one in from the great state
of Vermont, says hey, guys, Also easyg Eric Agnan says, hi,
my many peeps. Rona Ferverro, of course, from the great state
of California, says, Hi, guys, Jenny see you're in there.
Shalom peeps. J Fett I think we mentioned is in there. Also from
the great state of Vermont. Carol Zawarrowitz says Hello, Hello, Carol.
Mike from Queen City Cabinetry is in the Facebook live chat. Queen City Cabinetry.
One of our great sponsors here at WMNH, Dylan Reynolds, speaking of
very talented musicians, is in the Facebook live chat. Hello Dylan, and
Dylan says, I need to send you some of my songs. Yes,
absolutely, by all means, please please do Oh and I see Chris Rose
from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has also joined us on Facebook. And if anybody's
in there who I didn't say hello too, it's because I just can't see
you for whatever reason. Sometimes I go back and I look afterward and there's
people who were in there that I can see later they clicked like on the
show or whatnot, but I couldn't see them in real time because Facebook is
uh, well Facebook is Facebook, But do you want for free? It's
not just you? Because I was in the car with Miriam yesterday. Yeah,
she was saying the same thing that you'll say something and she can't see
what you're reading. Oh, she can't see the comment that I'm reading,
the comment that you're reading. Yeah, it's just it's wonky. Well it's
free, so yeah, Well it's like I've talked about on the show too.
You know, I bring in my own computer here that I plug in,
and I have Facebook open on this computer, but it's also opened on
this big monitor, and sometimes I'll see certain people and certain comments on one
screen but not the other. It's it's odd, but the ghost in the
machine, but it's it's Facebook or maybe you know. One of the theories
election deniers believe is that the ghost of Hugo Chavez was in some of those
voting machines. Maybe the ghost of Hugo Chavez is uh in these machines here.
Who knows? Who knows? We're gonna need it. You can say
that and mean it is true. Well, yeah, that's the thing.
I'm not even the thing. I'm not even exaggerating. It's not satire,
it's not parody. I'm not being hyperbolic. There's people who really believe that
you know and this is here is in part what's wrong with the society that
we are living in now? Well, yeah, saying is just a little
six three two five six seven. If you'd like to join us six zo
three two five six seven Jenny, you had you wanted to mention, uh,
well, a couple of things. There's a zoom meeting that you're going
to be participating in. Yes, there is a zoom meeting tomorrow being hosted
by Rights and Democracy here in New Hampshire. And and we're going to be
specifically talking about the care of a cost campaign that I've been telling you guys
about the last few months, and I invite you very much to get involved
in this. I'm going to drop out a link into the chat room where
you can sign up four to participate in the zoom meeting, or if you
have trouble with it, you know, discontact me more than happy to help
you. We do have an important date coming up next month in October that
involves a nation campaign and I'd really love to get you involved, so please
check it out, Please get in touch with me. I would love to
have you with us on this zoom call tomorrow night at six pm let's grab
your coffee or your tea and come join us for our chats. Very good,
Very good. And you also wanted to mention there was something about Medicare
advantage. Oh yes, absolutely, yes. So, as you may or
may not know, open enrollment is coming up here in October, and this
is the period of time when if you are on a Medicare advantage plan,
you can look at different plans and decide on which one you're going to get
stuck with. I'm sorry, which one you're going to have If you are
not on a Medicare advantage plan, this is when they're going to come at
you and try and talk you into dumping traditional Medicare for Medicare advantage. If
you've heard me speak about it, you know I highly, highly, just
my personal opinion, recommend that you do not do that to yourself, with
the heck that I have gone through with my Medicare advantage policy. Let's face
it, they're just trying to us it's all to die off by delaying and
denying care. But that's a bigger topic. What I need from you,
guys, is those advertisements. They're gonna mail them to you. You're gonna
see you might see a video on the TV. If you want to snap
a video for me, take a picture something comes in the mail, take
a picture of it and send that to me. I really want to take
a look at this advertisement that's going on. And I'm doing this as part
of a larger project with the Be a Hero organization. You guys might remember
I was invited to speak on Capitol Hill with Be a Hero. They're an
amazing organization fighting for healthcare for all of us and for home care home care
services which are vital to have in our communities. So this information we need
to gather it for a number of reasons, in part because there are some
new laws that are supposed to help product consumers from being tricked. But we
all know how the game is played, and they'll try and talk you into
switching. One of the ones that used for me was you'll get a free
pair of glasses. I did not get a free pair of glasses. They
paid for the frame, but when it came to the lenses, they were
only going to pay for them if they were a beginner. Like children's version,
the least amount the first level lens, like nothing greater than that.
It's not even like it's amount of money that you can use towards. It's
like you have to use that grade of a lens, which is not good
for most people. They're meant for beginner things. They're not meant to be
forever. So these different sales tactics that they use, I'd really want to
see those advertisements. I'm going to try and help filter them to be a
hero. And no matter where you are you're hearing my voice, you're living
in the continents, or excuse me, you're living in the United States and
you are looking at Medicare open enrollment coming up, Please be aware of that
as well and send those to me. We do want to make sure that
we're protecting people, and I personally don't believe that some of these advertisements aren't
going to be trying to trick people, and we need to be aware.
We need to gather that evidence. Isn't there a regulation now too that they're
not allowed to well, what changed with that? They're not supposed to look
like they're because they trick people by looking like they're officially part of the Medicare
yeah plan itself, right, probably, yes, I mean there is supposed
to be new law that is going into a fact that or that is in
effect, I should say they're supposed to be law that prohibits them from trying
to sell it to you as if it is Medicare as if it is from
Medicare, because it is not. It is a private for profit insurance company.
That is what Medicare advantage is. All of Medicare advantage is private for
profit insurance companies. None of them are run by Medicare. Big difference there,
But I know there's a bigger push. There's bills that have been introduced
to try and fix it so they can't use the word medicare anymore because it
does trick people into thinking it. And one of the sales tactics they'll use
is, oh, you're covered for everything that Medicare covers. Well, we
all know that's not true. We've all heard the stories and I've brought you
folks plenty of them, and it's you throw it in the search engine,
you'll get hit with a ton of people who can't get access to the care
that if they had had Medicare, they would have gotten access to it once
a doctor showed medical necessity. See, that's a difference. That's a big
difference between medicare, and these private for profit companies they deny you and you
have to fill out you know, you have to fill out an appeal and
they get you have thirty days to do that, and then they've got thirty
to sixty days to even make up their mind. Now you're two three months
out, still haven't gotten the care that you need. This is not medicare.
This is what private for profit insurance companies are doing. And they're making
millions of dollars off of collecting our premiums and pocketing them instead of using them
to provide the care that they promised to do. So, yes, there
is some law in regards to that, but they're still allowed to use that
word medicare, and it's really important that people understand that it is not medicare.
Advantage is not medicare. Right, So this is part of what we're
fighting and we need all the help that we can get. The more people
involved in speaking to their elected officials, the better you are. Congress critters,
your senators, they are up there, they are voting on these bills.
They need to hear from you. All right, very good, very
good, by the way, Melanie law Liberty in the Facebook Live chat says
you are already my hero Jenny, and then she said you and Leatherface my
heroes Weatherface. I don't know how we feel about big of that category,
like it's it's not very I don't know, it's not very flattering. Really
well, you know. Miriam Banishad joins us in the chat and says,
I had a family member who got tricked and it was annoying to fix it
and we had to act super fast people likely to be able to fix it.
Actually, and what Miriam's referring to is there are companies out there and
they're going to pick up the pace real quick. Now that when once open
enrollment happens, which I believe is October fifteenth, if I'm not mistaken,
they will start calling you trying to sell you Medicare advantage over the phone.
It's legal for them to call you and try and do that, but these
are salesmen. They are using sales tactics to talk you into it. And
if you have a loved one who's on Medicare and you help make their decisions,
they could be tricked into saying yes and take themselves off in Medicare without
you even realizing it. You won't even know until something comes into the mail
saying welcome to Medicare advantage X. And you thought your grandmother, your child,
your mom was on traditional medicare, but they got tricked with that phone
call. And if you do have relatives like you know that you are concerned
about, have conversations with them, tell them to collect the data, sit
down, Offer to sit down with them and go over it with them.
But I very strongly encourage you to encourage them to not give a yes over
the phone without having concrete materials and their faces that they can see. Very
good, very good. By the way, we have somebody new in the
Facebook live chat V Altran, who who I have a strong suspicion is from
Greensboro, North Carolina. V Altran says, good after or maybe it's it
could be the room Roman numeral, it might be five Altran. You might
be making assumption I might be, So we'll go with V Altran says,
good afternoon, noon. Hashtag Matt and hashtag Jen. We are a pop
singing group quartet V Altran, V Altran from US. We say our names
twice. We do. Apparently apparently VA Ultran also says, we say,
awesome, hashtag Jen from us. We are from Greensboro, North Carolina.
Hashtag Matt and hashtag Jen and we sing and dance. Well, now,
wow, that's impressive. Are they trying to get on the show? I
don't know. I feel like that's all they do in Greensboro, North Carolina
as they sing and dance. A lot of that going on there, very
creative place, singing in answering and hashtags, lots of hashtags. Yes,
you're starting to have a little difficulty with those hashtags there, dear. I
guess six three two five six seven is a studio line. If you'd like
to join us A six three two five O six zero seven. And if
you are just joining us, if you don't know, we do have a
great musical guest coming up in the second hour, Marvel Prone. We'll be
here with us live and they're going to perform live for us in the second
hour. I wanted to get your opinion on this because you, of course,
used to be a New Hampshire State legislator. Yep, so you have
served in a body of legislation. This is going on in the Senate,
not the New Hampshire Senate, but the United States Senate, and this will
kind of get us caught up on it. The ap reporting Senate ditch's dress
code as Fetterman and others choose casual clothes. It says here the stuff he
Senate is now a bit less formal. Majority Leader truck Schumer said Monday.
That's staff for the Chambers. Sergeant at arms, the Senate's official clothes police,
will no longer enforce a dress code on the Senate floor. The changes.
The change comes after Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has been unapologetically wearing shorts as
he goes about his duties, voting from doorways so he doesn't get in trouble
for his more casual attire. Schumer said in a statement quote, there has
been an informal dress code that was enforced. Senators are able to choose what
they wear on the Senate floor. I will continue to wear a suit.
Schumer did not mention Fetterman in a statement about the dress code, which will
only apply to senators, not staff. The changes prompted outrage from some of
the chambers more formal members, eroding a bit of the goodwill that first term
Fetterman had earned earlier. This year when he checked himself into the hospital for
clinical depression. He won by partisan praise for being honest about his diagnosis,
which came in the wake of a stroke he suffered on the campaign trail last
year. When he returned from treatment, he started donning the more casual clothes,
which he says make him more comfortable. Kansas Senator Roger Marshall, or
Republican, said it's a sad day in the Senate and that people who Fetterman
and Schumer represent should be embarrassed. Marshall said, quote, I represent the
people of Kansas, and much like when I get dressed up to go to
a wedding, it's to honor the bride and groom. You go to a
funeral, you get dressed up to honor the family of the deceased unquote.
Senators should have a certain level of decorum, he added. Republican Senator Susan
Collins of Maine agreed, arguing that the relaxed rules debase the institution of the
Senate. She joked, quote, I plan to wear a bikini tomorrow to
the Senate floor. Unquote. Wow, Susan Collins vava voom dang on that
microphone walking to Monday's evenings vote in a short sleeve, button down shirt and
shorts. Fetterman said he wasn't sure if he'd take advantage of the new rules
just yet. He said, quote, it's nice to have the option,
but I'm going to plan to be using it sparingly and not really over using
it. Uh, they're freaking out. I don't understand it, Like,
aren't there more important things that we should be working on right now instead of
you know that I might be dressing like a slab unquote. When Fetterman reached
the Senate floor, he still voted from the doorway baby steps. He told
reporters. Not all Republicans were upset about the change. Missouri Senator Josh Holly.
We all know him from fist stop pump fame on the day of January
sixth, Oh, the one that went running who went running away? You
know, from the tourist event. Yes, Missouri Senator Josh Holly was wearing
jeans, boots, and no tie on Monday evening, an outfit he says
he normally wears when the flies when he flies in from his home state for
the first votes of the week. Uh. Quote, now I can vote
from the Senate floor on Monday's unquote, he said, noting usually wears a
suit and tie every other day. Nearby Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy was also tieless.
The Democrat says he's been reprimanded by the sergeant at arms in the past
for not wearing a tie on the floor. Let me skip down a little
bit. So for Fetterman, his signature hoodies and jim shorts were a sign
of his recovery. Before he checked himself into the hospital, his staff had
asked him to always wear suits, which he famously hates, but after a
check with the Senate Parliamentarian upon his return in April, it became clear that
he could continue to wear continue wearing the casual clothes that were often his uniform
back at home in Pennsylvania, as long as he didn't walk onto the Senate
floor. He still wears suits to committee meetings when they are required. Okay,
Well, that's that's the bulk of it. And by the way,
for anyone who doesn't know John Fetterman, I don't know his exact height and
weight, but he's a very large man, so it's probably very difficult for
him to find suits that fits unless he goes to, uh, what is
it? What's the place there? You're gonna like the way you look?
Always like those commercials big and tall, No, no casual mail, Nah
suits are us No? No, I don't know. But the guy at
the end would always say, you're gonna like the way you look anyway.
It's probab Fediment is six eight. He's six eight. That's a big,
big man. So it's probably very difficult for him, even even before his
recovery, which is probably why even when campaigning for that Senate seat, it
became normal to see him in hoodies and shorts, because it's just difficult for
him to wear normal people's clothes because he's clearly not a normal person. Hendy
find the short short he's six foot eight. Well, I'm sure it's easier
to find hoodies and shorts that fit than it is to find Oh, Polly
C in the chat room, Thank you police to the rescue gentleman's warehouse.
Oh that's the name of the story. Yes, policy from retro Spectrum Radia
with Policy Friday, and it's here on WMNH. Yes, that's I used
to like those ads anyway, I now personally I have no strong opinions about
this one way or the other, much like the well, not exactly like
the subject I discussed yesterday. Yesterday I discussed the subject on the show,
which ended up taking the full two hours, which I do have an opinion
on, but not a strong opinion. I'm amenable to opposing arguments, and
I kept an open mind about it, and I thought I presented a pretty
balanced picture. Not everyone agreed, but that's okay. But I am curious
to get your opinion, in particular because you did serve in the New Hampshire
State Legislature. I have no idea what the dress code is there. I
assume that there is one. I also though, in at least one instance,
I remember over the years hearing something about somebody I think it was a
libertarian what was refusing to follow the dress code or something? Anyway, So
can you tell us about that and what your opinion is on the matter.
I wonder if it'll be a surprise or not a surprise. So I actually
do have a strong opinion about this, and I am in favor of the
dress code, and I will tell you why. When you are in the
halls of where the seat of government is and you're making passing laws and how
people are going to be forced to live their lives or what's going to happen.
There needs to be a strong level of decorum. There needs to be
the rules that keep the house functioning appropriately functioning, or you have mayhem.
If you expect democrats and work together, to Democrats and Republicans to work together
to get legislation through, whether it's conquered or it's Congress. You do that
by practicing a level of decorum. And I do believe that the level of
dress is part of that. You know, you act like you look right.
So when if everybody's in business attire, and that's what I'm talking about,
business attire, every body is going to follow more likely to follow rules
of decorum than they would otherwise. If everybody's in there with sweatpants or sweatshirts.
You know, and I and I would argue, if you're six eight,
you're having to get special order pretty much anything. So you can order
a pair of pants just as much as you can order a sweatshirt. So
that for me, it is kind of a uh yeah, I see that
as a as an as an distraction or or an excuse. If you will
in in New Hampshire in conquered, everybody is expected to be in business attire.
As a matter of fact, they I don't know if they've fixed it,
but they never had a c when I served. And in the wintertime,
wintertime, in the summertime, it really gets hot in there and somebody
would have to Usually it would be a woman would get up and go to
the well and request that gentleman be allowed to remove their coats. And when
I when I was leaving, I think people were starting to think, maybe
you should say people, but I'm probably I'm betting it's probably still gentlemen may
remove their coats when it should literally just be people. But that level of
decorum is important for legislation to for that discussion to happen, for the debate
to happen. And it is very true that votes are changed on the floor.
You know the right people get up and speak, or you point out
something and a piece of legislation that's a major error that if put into law,
is super bad. You want people listening and practicing that level while this
is going on. I don't think I think you take I think you cheapen
And I also think it would be one hundred percent inappropriate too. I can't
imagine a leader coming from another country to speak before Congress and they're sitting there
in sweatshirts and shorts. You know, like that's that's not okay. When
people come to speaking, they should they should be walking into a place.
That's the thing. See that's part of the thing too. And it bothers
me because you know, I have a loved one that doesn't see things the
way that I do. But those chambers are sacred, set those are those
are the very seat of our country. Those have to be held to a
specific level. If you cheapen it, if you crash open the doors and
run in there in sweats, you you are not going to continue to operate
as the country that we've all gotten to grow up in. I mean,
I'm kind of afraid we're losing that anyway. But now I don't know if
you know this, but our President Joseph Robinett Biden, when he was a
senator, h he would often ask permission to remove his coat. I have
some audio here, If please have a seat and their permission, I'm gonna
take my coat hold And people were and people were into it. They liked
when either were like whoo, yeah, well that is decorum. Is that
you asked, you know, made gentlemen take off their coats? That was
that was back when he was in his seventies. He was he was a
younger, strapping man of that. That's right. He's in his lady,
No, he's not in his eight eighties. He's eighty, but he'll be
eighty one. And but he's got a coffee mug. Did you know this.
He's got a coffee mug on his desk in the oval office that says
life begins at eighty and when you fill it up with a warm beverage,
the coat comes off. Probably. I don't know what. I don't know
what goes on there, but I think you're surprised you that that's my opinion.
No, by the way, we talked about this, Uh, just
I'll just share this with the audience we on the way here today. I
did tell Jenny that I was going to ask her her opinion this on the
air, But then when she started to tell me, I said, no,
no, no, no, no, save it for the air,
yep, because I don't know what. I don't know what you're going to
say, and I want to be surprised were you surprised, No, not
really, No, I genuinely didn't know which way you're going to go on
this. But I think your argument about decorum is very sound. That does
make a lot of sense, and a great point too about you know,
if somebody's another world leader is coming to visit or something like that. Now,
I so I agree your arguments are sound. Let me ask you this,
though, would you make an exception for someone like John Fetterman who has
had health problems and is just enormous and it's probably a challenge for him to
wear suits like everyone else. I'm not opposed at all to an exception that
may need to be made for an individual, but I don't think the exception
should be a pair of Bermuda shorts, and well, he doesn't wear Bermuda
shorts. I've seen some interesting pictures of shorts on him. There are other
things he could wear that would be more professional and create a more professional scene,
not just on the chamber floors, but also I feel in in in
committee meetings, especially public hearings. You know, if you've got a subcommittee
work session that it's just a few of you getting get of the work,
that's fine. That that's no big deal. I don't think you have to
be dressed to the nines for that. But if you've your having hearings where
the public is coming in, where people are coming into two jockey positions on
bills, those official business meetings and those that are of House sessions or Senate
sessions should be under that decorum and in that appropriate attire, and he could
put on something a little bit better. You know, he doesn't have to
go to the extreme. He could totally put on a pair like how about
a pair of kults, you know, or not lots Like isn't that that's
the wrong thing? I know, I don't know why that came out,
Yeah, squirrel. But he could wear like like cargo pants or and like
maybe a button shirt or even a pullover shart, but not a sweatshirt.
What about a wrestling singlet as he's about to choke slam Josh Holly, that'd
be kind of fun. Like he's perfinitely none of the bottoms that those people
wear. He's showing he's in a wrestling singlet and Josh Holly is in his
cowboy boo because it's a Monday, and Federman just choke slams them. Just
no, okay, yeah, see these are the things we're trying to stop
from happening in there, in case you haven't. That's right, Okay,
I got confused. Yeah, it's it's it's supposed to actually be a pretty
special place, right, go figure now, Oh it's special, but not
although the actually it's really the house where the wheels really seem to be coming
off. But you're right about that. I don't think. I don't know
if we'll have time to get to that today. But but you know,
the Sundate Dell does still have some degree. You're right about about that.
But oh, any uh so any stories about I seem to recall a few
years ago, this was after you had served, though, there was a
libertarian who was refusing to wear a suit or something in the New Hampshire legislature.
I don't recall any real issues with a tire. When I was irving,
we had Representative Valancourt, who's now passed away. You could tell what
kind of a mood he was in by what tie he put on. Really,
yeah, if he put on the black tie, get out of the
way. He was coming in hot. He was gonna he was in a
mood. If you put on something a little lighter and brighter, well he
may not even go near the podium today. He might just sit and listen
or pace around and make faces at you. He was a very he was
a big character. He had he had it was a huge personality. Love
him or hate him. He passed away. He served the state. So
that's the that's the closest that ever really happened while I was serving, as
far as a tire or anything like that. It was more or sometimes we
would try and get away with different things. People try and get away with
things like trying to put signs on themselves or something like that. I mean,
but nothing to the extreme, nothing inappropriate. I don't remember anything inappropriate.
And committees either, yeah, you know, I mean decorum. When
I was in conquered, decorum was a big deal, and to my knowledge
it still is that big deal. And I truly believe that that helps set
the correct you know, the correct feeling, the correct setting to actually talk
about government and try and get people on opposite sides to come to an agreement
that the society as a whole can live under. You know, you need
that, you need things to be kept seriously Nothing should be a joke,
nothing should be taken lightly. And I think if your laxidaisical about your dress,
you're gonna be laxadaisical about your attitude, right right, all right,
No, I agree. I think you've convinced me. Let's see, oh
in the chat room, I think we have another. I don't know how
j fed gets into these scraps with our friends in Greensboro, North Carolina.
But v Altrans says master Jason Feederson. We say, we say no,
we did not hack Isaac Banks from US hashtag Jason, we did not Isaac.
We say, why you put two isaacs? What? That's what?
It says he there's two Isaacs. Now, I guess, like a cell
divides creates new I guess he's cloning himself. And then what it is?
And then val Trans says hashtag Jason. We say it's just Isaac and we
are cool soul Jason Fetterson hashtag Jason Fetterson. We say why because we did
not hack him, as Isaac Banks. We were minding our own business.
It's true, we say to you, Jason from US hashtag Matt we did
not hack Isaac Banks from US. I don't know. I think he's not
going to sound guilty. And Matt hashtag Jason just ask a crazy question on
us. We say, oh please, We say oh please, from us.
We just minding our own business, we say hashtag Matt and hashtag Jen.
We just want to enjoy your show on Facebook Live from us to you,
and Jay Fed says, yes, you sound guilty. See now that's
what I said. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Starting
to sound a little money in that room. If you'd like to get him
with a call six zero three two five six zero seven, the studio line
is open. Six zero three two five zero six zero seven. V All
transays hashtag hashtag Jason, we are not guilty. Guilty, guilty is charged.
Get the gallow. Oh sorry, oh my got excited. Burn the
witches. No sorry, yeah, there's uh this this actually let's grab this.
I think, uh, put him in jail. I think our friend
Charles Richardson is on the line. Hi, Charles, Hey, gang,
what's going on? It's going down? Not living in Florida safely? How
about you? Oh please, don't even go there. I'm trying to I'll
trying to avoid that. And just like COVID nineteen, I wanted to avoid
it as much as possible, But I do. I do agree with you
know, dressing up when you're going ahead and in front of public, and
if you're in a political office or you know what, any type of profession
that involves representing somebody, you want to be the best stretch. You don't
want to show up and sweat to the T shirt or shorts or you know.
Heck, even in some cases a button down shirt is still casual,
you know what I'm saying. And I mean that could be formal, almost
formal for maybe some professions like well, we don't have to go that much
like business casual. But it's like when you're going ahead and representing the country,
when you're going ahead and coming into somebody, like if we're gonna have
another leader come in, dude, you gotta dress up. You gotta go
ahead and represent your country requirement though ties are miserably uncomfortable, So I would
like to I think we could do business but make ties optional. Oh okay,
I don't like ties either. But you know something, when I was
DJ and weddings and this is DJ, now come on, well I was
DJ and weddings, I always wore tied no matter how uncomfortable it was,
because I am representing the business. I'm representing people that are going to weddings
that are formally dressed up most of the time kind of music. I had
my beach weddings, but formally dressed up. I'm not going to go in
there like a slub, right right, I'll be. I'll be a shlub
setting up by service. Then I'm sneaking into the bathroom changing and I'm coming
out looking like you know, ye five and a half million dollars. They're
paying you the money for it. You owe them that much. And we're
paying these guys an awful lot of money to be able to and these people
sitting in Congress, in the House and every day, trust me, they're
getting paid. Oh yeah, the money. They can go ahead and get
those fancy, fancy suits. Uh, even the people that apparently have health
conditions, I'm sure they can find something. Even if it's like a T
shirt tucks you know that, I'll take the button down over the T shirt
taltho. Although it would be it would it actually would be funny if Federman
showed up one day and a T shirt talks just to mock everybody and he's
someone who might actually do it. That would be funny. Yeah, but
what you were reading at the start of the show, though, it sounded
like he was actually like, I don't want to abuse this, right,
I voted from the door away, right, Yeah. True, So I
think it matters to him a little bit. Yeah, No, it does
clearly, but he wants to have the option. I mean, we can't
go ahead and shy away from you know, we don't want to discriminate somebody
because they have an illness, just like we don't want to discriminate somebody Ronda
Santez against the and I you you racist rights, right, So I'm gonna
say about that, right, he's over here, taken away and I because
oh, it's not beneficial, it's not it's no, No, you're doing
that because you're a racist. Yeah, I'm glad you're dropping down that in
the Republican. I'm so happy to see your political career go in the toilet.
Yeah. Christ Chris Christy has surged ahead of well, I don't know
if surge is quite the right word, but he's pulled ahead of DeSantis in
the New Hampshire primary polls that I've seen. When we were coming in Charles.
When we were driving in today, I was looking at the latest news
article on my phone and one of the first things that popped up was another
incident in Florida. It was regarding Florida's banning of the n Frank diary Van
Frank, and a teacher had made a comment something and I might be conflating
a little bit, but a teacher had made a comment about how it was
written by a twelve year old, so their peers should be able to read
it. But that's Florida is just getting really extreme. It doesn't matter who
wrote it, it's if it's not appropriate, just shouldn't be on the shelves.
The diary of Anfred is not appropriate. The diary of any no,
no, no, no, I've never read them, going off the reservation
confused shouldn't be on I've never read the diary in Freaks. I cannot comment
if it is or is not. No, I'm not gonna go ahead and
jump into that rabbit hole. If it's and if this is this is something
that could I suggest you read it something that I misunderstood and correct me from,
because you guys probably know this way more than I do. Well,
When Rand de Santez passed that don't say gay bill. Apparently it was about
pedophilia in the classrooms. Looking to these uses, the excuses that have been
used are just that they're excuses. The Diary of Anne Frank has no pedophilia.
There's nothing in the Diary of Anne Frank except the horrors of what a
Jewish kid went through and what it was like living a hiding for two years
before she was murdered. Well, that's what the book is about. But
it's not about sex. It's not about pedophilia. Okay, well that's good,
that's good. But seriously, oh my god, I don't know if
it is it appropriate to read about such tragedies like that in the elementary It's
not elementary school. That's not elementary. We're not talking about elementary school.
We're talking about junior high high school kids. Nobody teaches the Holocaust in elementary
school. That's just that's BS. That's total BS. There is no elementary
school that teaches the frigging Holocaust or the Civil War or the Korean War.
We don't teach anything about killing people in elementary school. School. You have
to you have to go back decades that until the last time I was in
elementary school, we teach the Holocaust. We teach World War one, World
War two, the Holocaust, junior high, high school when they're older and
in hopes that they won't end up in wars themselves, or that maybe they'll
have more sense than we did, and not getting into wars. But to
not teach these things. You know, when you forget about history, you
doom to repeat it. If the whole system down here is all messed up,
there's a lot of Florida nothing. Nothing about this governor that he passes
is going to surprise me. It's going to sadden me, it's going to
but it's not going to surprise me. This is just we hopefully get rid
of his behind when his term runs up and just get out of here.
Don't ever see him again. Wow, you got a super strong opinion.
Well, he's a Arles has been Charles. I thought he liked him.
No, Charles has been consistent on that. He has not been a fan
of De Santis for as long as I can remember. That's good. Yeah,
that's good. As soon as see you can keep him with my pride
and joy Disney. Okay, that's real lot. Not banning the Holocaust.
If I was on my show, there would be so many leaps right now.
Any oh boy, I'm gonna I'm gonna go calm down before I have
to pick up my son. So you guys have a great day, all
right, Charles, we appreciate the call. Thanks man, Take care all
right, bye bye. Oh. Yeah, Charles has never been a fan
of the Santis. I mean, I guess I just kind of in the
beginning. Maybe I wasn't thinking. I thought in the beginning he was.
But I'm glad to know that he's not. Yeah, but I would like
him to keep him well, don't want I mean in our state, you
can keep him. I mean, that was the first time I've ever heard
him a call to Santa's racist, This is true. But he was pretty
and he was pretty emphatic about it too that that actually surprised me. But
yeah, Charles is not a fan of the governor of Florida. That clearly
is the case. And he likes the other guy, right who Trump?
No, Charles Trump. No, Charles doesn't like Trump either. I want
to know who he now, see now, I want to know who he's
back. He may not have anybody he's backing necessarily because the thing about Charles
is he's not as in the politics as we are. True, you know,
he's more of a casual observer. He's not like so he I don't
know if I don't know if there's anybody he likes. I haven't heard him
mention anyone he particularly is supporting. Nobody outside of your Hampshire is into politics
more than it is our sport. It is our state sport. I mean,
I think my my perception of Charles is politically he leans more right than
left, so he would probably support a Republican over a Democrat, I think.
I mean, that's my impression, but I don't even know. He
might be an independent, I'm not actually sure. I feel like the independence
is going to grow more if we have a rehash, if we have a
rematch between Biden and Trump, well then I think that's accepting what's going to
happen. Well, people who are just going to be like, I'm done
going because they independence grow in this country. Well, last I looked,
forty four percent of the American electorate is independent, neither Republican or a Democrat
or you know, independent or undeclared. I think in New Hampshire we use
the term undeclared, whatever term you want to use, But that doesn't mean
that forty four percent of the electorate who are independents don't necessarily tend to vote
for one party over the other. They just many of them just don't want
to be a part of a member of a party, but they still vote
consistently one one way or the other. Unfortunately true. I'll give you a
little tidbed here. When we were talking about the dress code or gone,
Katu did an informal survey should members of Congress have a dress code? And
over ten thousand people have voted ninety percent say yes. I'm not surprised.
Michael Smerconish on his radio show he puts up a poll question every day.
I think it was was it yesterday? It was either yesterday or Monday.
There was a poll question and yeah, overwhelmingly his audience said, yeah,
there should be a dress code. So, like I said, I didn't
have a strong opinion one way or the other. But your arguments are persuasive.
No, they are right. I mean the decorum thing. I was
a decent rep absolutely, I flipped House votes. By the way, Sepsis
joins us in the Facebook patch at and says education time for us. Does
independent or undeclared mean that they don't want to participate? Uh No, that
just makes a good question. It just means they don't want to be part
of either political party. Like me, I don't want to be you know,
do I vote one way more than the other? Oh? Yes,
even more so now than ever. But I don't want to be a part
of a uh an ideological heard the state of New Hampshire refuses to recognize the
word independent. You might only be undeclared, say undeclared, which I know
bothers you. I personally don't have a problem that bother me. I think
independent is independent undeclared as I don't know. I'm not picking anything, but
to me, being independent is in a sense a party choice. We are
almost at the top of the hour and I see musicians in the hallway.
Yes, yes, yes, So we're gonna take a break, gonna show
some love to our amazing sponsors, and then we're gonna play a song from
from these guys Marvel Prone while they come in and get set up because they
are going to perform live for us in the second hour. So so there
is plenty more to come here on Matt Connerton Unleashed. Oh, by the
way, Stepsa says, we're not being fresh. We actually don't know about
any groups or political things. Oh no, we meant no, No,
I got that, Yeah, yeah, no, we were serious. Is
it independent and undeclared do mean the same thing in the state of New Hampshire.
I was saying that I think it should be different. Yeah, And
I don't have to me it's semantics. I don't I don't care either way.
Call me independent, call me undeclared, call me just don't call me
a Republican or a Democratic. Please, we don't call me late for dinner.
Well that too obviously. Oh and Sepsis says, Marvel Prone is awesome.
Yes, Sepsis, you are awesome and Marvel Prone is coming up next.

Jenny is here at the news desk, president and accounted for. Yes,
and as promised, we have a wonderful musical guest here with us.
We have two members of Marvel Prone. So we have Rayner, who has
been on the show with us before. Hi, Matt, it's good to
see you again. Wepe. Sorry you're so loud in the headphones there.
I'm kind of I'm adjusting the mics as we go here and then uh,
and I will let you introduce the new person or not well, not so
much new but new to us. Yes, we have Emily Donophan over here.
Hey, thanks for having us. Hello Emily, welcome, Welcome you.
And what's the story here? So you you were in the band before
and you rejoined the band? Is that? Yeah? So Rayner and I
went to high school together and my freshman year I wanted to start a band.
So I think Rainer was sitting at the lunch table and I was like,
Hey, do you want to be in a band with me? And
he said yeah. And that was ten years ago. Oh wow, and
yeah here we are today. Oh, very cool, very cool. And
then uh so when so when Marvel Prone started? So that was that was
the beginning of Marvel Prone. Yeah, and then Rayners kept it going all
this time. I was away for college for a few years. But I
moved back maybe three months ago. Okay, and yeah, Rayner had sent
me a message and I responded and we were talking and then he said do
you want to come back to the band? And I was thrilled. Oh,
very cool, very cool. All right, well, I'm looking forward
to hearing you play. And Emily, can you strum that guitar a little
for me? That's want to see if that okay? That should be good?
And rain Or can you strum a little? There is there? We
go? All right, cool, I'm gonna have to adjust on the fly,
which I'm used to doing so sweet. Yeah. Yeah, so if
you if you would both like to play something, and then uh and then
we'll talk a bit. Got sounds good, Matt Awesome, Mark Marvel prone
here in studio with us. Thank you. If you ever feel like taking
a chance, look at these hands up for reach out to me. I
can feel as she hits me deep down. He kills me. I know
she's fearing me apart, but she doesn't like a wake apart seventeen sacar chewed
up like nickel chick from my tongue, but bear family. She's always faking
another's breakdown. Get to my insides out curve. There's nothing. Let's too
hide, there's nothing to talk about when you already very mind. I can
feel it in my feet there, when we're dancing on the floor and when
I'm walking the street along, I don't feel like anymore. Second and sigar
ratched up like nickel rutched from my tone, Bobby, She's always another's break
down. You think it's so punk rock, Well you're lucky, girl,
because that's just what I want. If you'll ever feel like taking unchance,
look at these hands up reads up to me. I feel as she asks
me, kills me. She's doing in the v women in the street alone.
I don't feel it anymore. Wow, very nice, very nice.
Thank you. I'm sorry, Jenny, I didn't have your my concent again.
That was awesome, thanks, Jenny, absolutely absolutely, Yeah you sound
great. Now, So how often do you play with this configuration where it's
just the two of you? Or is this is this the first time doing
it this way? Yeah, it's like the first time, really kidding.
Yeah, yeah, we've probably done it before, but I don't think so,
which is funny. Yeah yeah, just for the radio thing. Yeah
yeah. So now, so usually it's it's four of you for regular shows.
Yeah, yeah, okay. Our bassist Matthew Bickerstaff plays with us a
lot, although he's going to school right now, so his availability is kind
of out the window now. Yeah, he might play with us again in
the winter for some shows. And then Madison Rousseau is still jamming with us,
an incredible drummer, and yeah she yea, so she's still playing with
us. Yeah, she was here last time. Yeah. None of our
listeners is in a store dancing down the aisles. Oh oh, thank you.
Ronda Fervero from California. Yeah, excellent. So, now, when
you don't have your bass player, what do you still play? Are you
able to to kind of work around that or oh well we actually yeah,
yeah, I mean like we'll practice with whoever we can practice with, because
I mean, everyone's availability. I've always had this challenge with the band.
It's just like, you know, everyone's availability is different in everything, and
so it's very rare that we actually get a full band practice. But I
just I just you know, surrendered to that, and it's just we'll practice
with anyone who who's available, and that that works out nicely. Yeah,
And you know we don't and we don't just like rehearse, we also like
try to you know, write songs together. Yeah, so excellent. How
often are you playing out are you or are you more focusing on Can I
plug a show? Yeah? We're playing a show at the Stone Church on
October nineteenth. Excellent, the Thursday. I think we're open up for some
jazz guitar jazz fusion guitarists from New York Kid. Yeah, so this should
be a cool show. It's a Thursday night. Yeah, But I would
say we've been playing like at least a couple of times in for the summer.
Things are slowing down nav we'll be working on some other projects instead.
Yeah, we've played at the Middle East. In Cambridge we played at the
press Room this summer. That was a first show at the press Room,
which is great. In the past we've played at the three s Art Space,
another great venue, and in Portsmouth trying to think where where else?
Yeah, those are the like notable locations. And we've played a couple of
venues here in Manchester, we've played Angel City Music Hall and you know,
I'd like to play a show. I've played with my other band at not
the Shas Skiing but the what is it called Strange Brew Tavern. I've played
there with them, and so I want to get Marvel prone show there.
Now. Who's the other band? I played bass in a band called River
sang wild. Oh that's we were talking about. That's the business card that
Christian found River saying why yeah, yeah, business cards on our perfect We
had a conversation about that today. Actually we have a call. Let's see
who's on the line here. Hi, welcome to Matt Connerton Unleashed. Who's
this Uh? I thought you were on vacation. No, I am live
on the air, Sir, Live on the air. You said you will
play the best of Matt, and I hear that. Our chattemy of mine,
and some people got I don't know how people got through, because I
couldn't get through. I was not here on Monday. We ran a best
of Oh, I'll come. I just had things going on, Joe.
I've got a very busy, very busy life. You took a day off
on Monday. You have personal issues? No, I just had other business
to attend to. Yeah, I'm sorry to disappoint you. Do you have
a do you have a question for our band? We've got a great guest
here today, Marvel Prone is with us. Oh oh yeah. Well I
want to wish you guys all the best of of luck in your musical career.
And uh, Matt is a very You're very lucky to be on Matt
Show. He's a very attentative person when it comes to the music scene,
and uh, he really gives bands a chance to explode out there literally on
the scene. That's that's that is very influential in New Hampshire. Yeah,
we really appreciate the opportunity, Matt. It's really great. I'm happy to
do it. Thank you, thank you, thank thank you. Al Joe,
I appreciate your saying that wonderful words of well it's true. I mean
I have listened to Matt on a few interviews with bands, and he just
does a bang up job and gives these guys an opportunity to share their art
form in New Hampshire. And I've been hearing a lot of things about New
Hampshire that it's a a pretty interesting town as far as Manchester and the music
scene and throughout New Hampshire. I didn't know this. Oh well, thank
you very much, just by listening, Thank you very much. I so
enjoy booking all of these wonderful bands. I don't think I'll ever run out
of talent. That's right, that's right. Well, Joe, Yeah,
Well, Matt's an expert because he was a bass player from what I understand,
in a rock and band, I believe. I don't know much about
it, but this is with the rumor that I heard. Hey Joejoe,
have you heard my new favorite band? Uh? Jerry Robinson. Oh yeah,
he's amazing. Ah, Jerry Robinson, the make believe guy, the
guy that was created out of Adobe. Yeah that doesn't some incredible sounds.
I don't know what you call make believe, but dang, there's some guitar
playing in there. Yeah, no, the music is I have to I
hate to admit it. I hate to admit it. Not bad. What
have you done with Jojo even though he's pony? Oh No, Jerry's Israel
as it gets. But this is a Joe. I feel like you've turned
a corner. You're being very positive today. Well you know what it is,
Matt. I Uh, I hate to be positive on your show because
we're supposed to go out after each other. I'm supposed to have this rivalry,
right But in reality, you know, Matt, I do have respect
for you because you're very You're smarter than most of the people in New Hampshire.
Wow, okay, you know what I mean, Like you're intelligence suppedes
the people of New Hampshire, you know, who are basically into, you
know, hugging trees and uh, sucked it up. Maple syrup love,
maple serruve. What do you have against maple syrup? But yeah, well
I had maple syrup today at McDonald's. It wasn't bad. You're out there
in New Hampshire, but it's the same mentality as Vermont, you know.
I mean, you know, there's not much smartness there, you know,
with the people tree hugging and sucking up maple syrup for the tree. That's
all I'm saying. Okay, all right, well fair enough, But well,
Gal Matt is my one of my starting to become one of my favorite
broadcasters. He's got a lot of winds, got a lot of intelligence,
thank you, even though I don't agree with his opinions political and I hope
one day to call in and maybe talk a little bit about his leftist mentality
and how we could correct it. Right right, Well, I'll try to
keep an open mind in that vein. By the way, Matt, I'm
going to be announcing the uh, the day that I make my uh,
you know, my great comeback, and uh, I'm going to take away
some of your audience. I hope you don't mind. Oh yeah, you
know, uh, you gonna do your book. Joe, Joe, can
we plan on your show? What are you asking about this woman here uncontrollably?
Oh yeah, actually figgling about I think, well, I don't know
something, something that is sickled or fancy, clearly, but I think that.
But I think Joe, I think a raider is asking about Marvel Brone
being on your show. Yeah, Joe, can we can we can we
show up to your show. Where are you located out of Well, I'm
on my website. Matt has all the information because he's been appearing on my
show. And I want to also apologize to Matt four treat him like crap
when he was calling into my show. That's never gonna happen again. We're
gonna welcome Matt with with wide open arms because he deserves it. Wow,
Wow, you know this is I'm thinking about you, Matt. I I
don't know, I really like you. I don't know what it is.
I know we're so different in every category, but I like you. You
know I've learned to, uh, you know, listen to your voice,
and you know you're doing your job very well. M n h and uh
you know everybody like likes you and you're popular, so you know, you
really can't deny that. I hope to achieve the same achievements on the Crazy
Joe Show and put people in their place like they deserve to be. Well,
very good, Well, Joe. I do appreciate the positivity and the
and the support. I genuinely can match, you know, I mean I'm
not perfect, I genuinely do. Well, We're gonna hear Marvel prone is
going to play some more songs for us show, so we'll let you go.
Oh good, I was good. I want to listen to the style
of music that these people have. Very good. But I appreciate the call
positive, Joe, I like it. Well, thank you for accepting it.
Matt. It's always a pleasure talking to you, believe it or not.
All right, Well, well, thanks handsome and intelligence, I say,
now, wow, okay, you're very sexy young man. Well yeah,

he's at something something wrong. You call an ambulance. I don't know,
honey. I'm very interested right now. Oh no, no, good,
but we'll see. Maybe one day we'll hang out. Okay, guys,
thank you so much for the opportunity to make a few statements. And
uh, by the way, Eric, uh, I haven't had I haven't
said anything big about Eric the last time I talked to me. Treat me
with some proper respects, alas people treat me with proper respect. I mean,
I give it back, I understand it, I give it. I
understand. That's a good policy, all right, Joe policy. I have
a good day, all right, Joe you too. Bye bye, thanks
thanks man. All right, hey you're welcome by bye. Wow, very
very positive. It's a whole new uh, whole new Joe. It's a
whole new Joe. It's a whole new Joe. Well, I would love
to hear another song if you, if you would both like to play something
for us. Cool. Yeah, this is a song I wrote called new
Psychology. All right, very good. Marvel prone is live in studio.
Take th col in the eyes, she tell you us until cry hi five.
It's go will lie to take the die into the hide. Your psychology
it's got a hold, and it's taken everything everything I've got. Your psychology,
it's got a hold, and now I can see everything out of heart,
she says. Let's make them dispear and lay watch you pray. You'll
make you go and say all you play. It's all a game. Your
psychology it's got a fold on me and stapping everything everything I've got. Your
psychology it's got a fold on me, and now I can see everything.
I'm not your side, College you. It's got a fold one and it
staping everything everything outs got your side, College you, It's got a fold
one and now I can see everything out night. Very nice, thank very
nice. Thank you so much. Sorry, Jenny, I forgot to put
your I got calling you technical, MADDI. Well you gotta understand the board.
It's got all these buttons and sliders. But you've been playing with those
buttons and sliders, sliders and buttons on is that's true? That was gorgeous.
Thank you gorgeous. I loved that. If you're just joining us,
we have a Rainer and Emily from Marvel Prone live in studio with us and
they're playing some songs and uh, yeah, this is great. Yeah,
that's you said. That's a new song you just wrote. It's new for
Marvel Prone. But I actually wrote that for different band I was in in
college called Plane Jane. We kind of, you know, simmered out when
the pandemic started. But I've kept some of my songs and I'm revamping them
to play with this group. It's been really fun. It's a good project.
Yeah, excellent, excellent. Now so tell me, Yeah, so
when you went when Marvel Prone started, so you approached Ranner and just like
what what what made you like? Had you seen and heard him play or
what made Yeah? We were we were in the school rock band together.
We went to a really small art school, so we were playing in the
school rock band together, and he was a drummer at the time. Yeah,
but I was obsessed. I was starting to get obsessed with a guitar.
Yeah, when I was sixteen, I read a Jimmy Hendricks biography and
then I would just carry my guitar to class because at this charter school,
they didn't they didn't stop me from doing that. And yeah, I just
started playing a lot of guitar and everything, but I'd mostly played drums at
that point. So when we started the band, I was actually the drummer
and we had these two other guys in the band, uh Riley on bass
and Peter on keys. They went to Oyster River and they were my childhood
friends. And so when Emily came, I think she told me like,
hey, we should start a band with you Rally and Peter. That'd be
so cool. I'm like, oh, yeah, totally, how you met.
No, I didn't do them. I just said we should start a
banding We're like, oh, I know the perfect guys. I know the
perfect Yeah, And I was like trying to start a band with those guys
for some time, but we were just kind of talking about it. Yeah,
So that was like Emily gave us enough reason to like, all right,
we got a singer, and I was I wasn't even saying I was
just the drummer and everything. And then but then when I did start singing
and I just started playing guitar, Emily left the band. She was like,
I'm done. Yeah. I left for maybe a year, yeah really
maybe, yeah, and then I came back yeah okay, and then I
left for college, so I really left, Okay, So yeah, she
just comes and goes as she pleases. Yeah, I'm saying, okay,
good good, No, no, why did you leave? So the first
time you left, what happened? Rader? I Rader took over? I
think, yeah, I think. You know, it's kind of hard to
collaborate sometimes, and we were really young, so we didn't know how to
collaborate yet. But then, you know, as we both grew as musicians,
I think we figured it out. And now, like, my favorite
part of being in a band is collaborating with Rayner and other band members because
you know, everyone brings something different to the table, so it's really fun
to create together and get like those different flavors you know. Yeah, so
you so you left for a year and then you were back. Yeah,
and then you had to leave again to go to school. Yeah. So
then I left for six years. Oh wow, yeah yeah. Okay,
what did you go to school for music? Oh? Excellent? Yeah,
I studied. Yeah, I studied jazz, did a lot of jazz performance,
but studied a lot of music theory and music history and all that kind
of stuff. It was a great experience. Yeah, stuff you have yet
to teach me. I want. I want to learn because I took a
music theory of course. I was first a music major at U n H.
I changed the computer science, but I took one year and I took
one year in music theory. It's like my favorite class of all time.
But I always got like her graduates degree in music theory. Stop keeping all
that knowledge to yourself weekly lessons, all right. I'm at the other end
of the knowledge spectrum. Like I tried to learn theory and I just gave
up on it. So I just I mean, if I hadn't had to
do it, I wouldn't have done it. But I don't know how I
passed my theory class, like no clue. Oh, did you study music
as well in high school? Not in college. In college I did other
things. But yeah, no, I don't know how I made it out
of that high school class. I stunk and I just completely stunk. I
couldn't get it. DJ Mark l WI Radio, who is in the UK,
says, love this music, guys, excellent, thanks for listening.
Yeah, and a lot of support from v all trend in. The chat
room really likes it as well. Cool and uh, let's see. Yeah,
we got a very busy chat room. Yep. Everyone's digging it.
Everyone's digging it. You want to play another song? Yeah, yeah,
I'll did another one of Emily's songs. Excellent. If you're just joining us,
we have Rainer and Emily from Marvel Prone live in studio. Then we
consume you're every word. I want to breathe the words you speak. It's
all quite simple, now you see. I wanna be the meeting you eat.
No, please spare me. I love to watch your lis Oh please
spare me. How could you be so cruel? I got this power over
you, You got this power over me. The things you say I'm never
true, the things I say loves all meaning, Oh spay, I love
to watch your lips? Oh please spay? How could you be so cruel?
The snow grandbad weave me smiles into jealousy. I give you everything I
and now there's a thing left for me. Oh please spare me. I
love to watch your lips. Oh please spare me. How could you be
so good? Oh please spay? I love to watch your live Oh please
spare me. How could you be so cruel? How could you be so
cool? You play me like food? Hell you'ld be so cruel? How
you be so cruel? You play me? Let fool? You play me?
How god be so cruel? You play fool? Play? All right?
Wow? Very nice? Wow? Thank you? Wow? I could
I could listen to you guys all night long? Seriously? Well you can?
You can find please do hockeyr wares man. I have been sharing your
page and thank you. Just while I'm speaking all on ad in there,
there is a DJ in the chat room who's listening live from the UK,
and I am helping them hook up with you. He'd like to get you
on his show. Oh that'd be sweet, ye maybe a little traveling.
Yeah. Tom Blanchard just joined us in the Tattoo and says so good,
very talented. Absolutely, thank you, thanks to absolutely. Yes, what
what do you have coming up for? Do you have shows coming up or
yeah, that's right, you did mention something. Yes, we have two
shows coming up to We have the Stone Church on October nineteenth, and then
we are playing at the Middle East in Cambridge on December nineteenth with Jean Paul,
Jean Paul, Summer Cult and uh is it flows Stanley. I don't
know. I can't remember. I can't remember the fourth band exactly, but
yeah, that's gonna be a huge show for us because those are our friends
in Boston. We love them so much. They're really they're part of some
incredible bands, and so it's gonna be a really fun show and probably gonna
pack the place. So yeah, very cool, excellent, excellent. By
the way, I noticed her in that song, and I wonder if if
this is something that you do a lot with It's it's kind of like you're
you're going back and forth on leads. Yeah, and it's it's it's interesting.
It really kind of almost sounds pretentious to say it this way, but
it sort of weaves a tapestry of the things of the you know, just
sonically Is that something that you do a lot or is that unique to that
song or yeah, no, I think I think I think we do that
a lot with our songs, isn't it. You know, neither of us
is the set lead guitarists, yeah, or lead singer for that matter.
Yeah, you know, so we all kind of just play different roles,
you know, depending on the song. Because it's interesting so watching watching the
two of you play it almost I mean, I'm sure there's a lot that
goes into writing these songs and learning them and putting it all together, but
it looks effortless the way you just sort of shift back and forth with the
leads and the and the rhythm guitar parts. It's it's interesting. Thanks.
I think it has a lot to do. It just kind of like letting
go, yeah, and not not worrying about, you know, small little
mistakes here and there. You can just kind of let go and yeah,
keep it moving. You can find the rhythm if it helps with transitions,
right, right, yeah, very good, Very good. Now, is
is there any there's I assume there's no recorded material yet right with you Emily
on Yeah, not yet with me, but we're hoping to write a bunch
of new stuff and then yeah, and record it. Yeah, I'm probably
in between these two shows we have will work stuff like that. Yeah,
yeah, at least work on writing stuff. Yeah, we're right. We're
gonna you know, finish some songs we started working on and write a bunch
of new songs and probably try to record ourselves and and then you know,
I find that like in the recording process, you can really like iron out
what you like and what you don't like about a song because you get to
listen to it over and over again, and and then so that let's probably
take what we like from that and go into a professional studio record some more
music. But that'll probably be like next year sometime, yeah, if we're
if we're consistent, So yeah, it's definitely a long process. Yeah,
I should mention we have we have three albums out yeah on Spotify, So
if anyone wants to, you know, check us out and Spotify. It's
Marvel prone and we've got three albums. The first one is moon Lightning,
the second one is called She Hits Me, and the last one we just
released last year. It's called eleven twenty two. Yep, Yeah, you've
got I'm looking at band camp now and you've got the albums plus oh yeah,
and I should mention we also have one light. Yeah, we have
like a mixtape that we did the RPM Challenge one one time. Oh you
did? Yeah, so we tried. We recorded an entire wrote and recorded
an entire album in a month. And this is actually when when I had
different people were in the band at the times, Megan and Edward were in
the band, and we all wrote and recorded an album together Entyler by ourselves,
and that's on band camp. It's not on Spotify. So if you
want to hear some deep cuts, that's go to our band camp. Which
which album is I'm looking at band camp? Yeah? Yeah. The RPM
Challenge album is called trayce Embrace. Oh okay, yeah, oh cool.
Didn't Easy Top have an album called tray Sombers. I think you're right.
I didn't know if it was if there was a connection there, if you
are, if you're the coincidence, I guess for really yeah, because it
was we were a trio of the time. Yeah, that's great. I
love that. Jeez. Maybe we'll play one of those at the end of
the show when we're when we're wrapping up. Sure, but Oh yeah,
it's it's getting late. Did you want to did you want to play one
more live? Yeah, let's just do one more Okay, excellent, we
