Gene Simmons of KISS | Matt Connarton Unleashed
Speaker 1: If you're a long time listener of the show, you
Speaker 1: probably know this, or if you know me, you know
Speaker 1: this about me. My favorite band is Kiss. And I'm
Speaker 1: getting a little nervous because just in the past week,
Speaker 1: so Ace Frehley, who has not been in the band
Speaker 1: for a long time, apparently has had a stroke. Uh.
Speaker 1: So that's uh, that's disconcerting. And uh and Gene Simmons
Speaker 1: a couple of days ago, apparently he's fine. But Gene
Speaker 1: Simmons actually had an accident. I guess he lost consciousness
Speaker 1: while driving. So just uh, a couple of couple of
Speaker 1: very uh, very precarious things there. But let's see we
Speaker 1: have a call. Wow, let's see he's online. Hi, welcome
Speaker 1: to Matt Conerton on unleash.
Speaker 2: Do this, Oh Math, this is Gene Simmons.
Speaker 1: Of Kiss. Gene Simmons of Kiss. Oh my goodness, I'm
Speaker 1: so relieved to hear from you. I've been worried about you.
Speaker 1: You had that terrible accident. You apparently lost consciousness and
Speaker 1: crashed into something. Uh are you okay?
Speaker 2: I don't know, Matt, do you tell me? Am? I okay,
Speaker 2: Well you.
Speaker 1: Sound great, I mean you sound very normal. Gene Simmons
Speaker 1: of Kiss. You sound like you always do well, although
Speaker 1: that again, I don't know much how you sound these days.
Speaker 1: You used to call the show all the time when
Speaker 1: we were on afternoons, and now I hardly ever hear
Speaker 1: from you.
Speaker 2: Well not, you know, I do sleep in on Saturday mornings.
Speaker 2: I'm a musician.
Speaker 1: I didn't think you ever slept, Gene Simmons of Kiss.
Speaker 2: Yes, it's a it's a good substitute. That's sleep for
Speaker 2: the bourbon that I don't drink anymore.
Speaker 1: That's right. Well you never you never were a drinker,
Speaker 1: which I commend you for that.
Speaker 2: Oh you say so, you say.
Speaker 1: Well, no, I mean that's more acist thing. But uh yeah,
Speaker 1: So how are you doing? Are you doing? You're doing okay?
Speaker 2: Uh?
Speaker 1: I was very concerned. I thought maybe a heart issue
Speaker 1: or something. I know you have aphib I didn't know
Speaker 1: if that may be cause you to lose consciousness while driving.
Speaker 2: It's funny, I do have a fib mat. But the
Speaker 2: thing is is, whenever I turn on one of my
Speaker 2: Kiss albums, yes, my heart just beats right to the rhythm.
Speaker 1: No kidding, even the elder that's right, Well, that's amazing. Well,
Speaker 1: that's exciting, Gene Simmons of Kiss.
Speaker 2: Very good, And I'm calling you this morning because I
Speaker 2: decided to get up early, whip up some pancakes, and
Speaker 2: listening to my favorite radio show host.
Speaker 1: Ever to think of, Gene Simmons of Kiss, listening to
Speaker 1: my show and making pancakes gives me a boundless joy.
Speaker 2: I must tell you, yes, and one more thing, Matt
Speaker 2: before I go and let you continue with your fabulous
Speaker 2: radio show.
Speaker 1: Thank you.
Speaker 2: Yes, Uh, screw Ice really forget him?
Speaker 1: Wow? Wow? I know you don't always get along, but
Speaker 1: all right, well, we hope that Ace recovers. I hope
Speaker 1: that Ace recovers.
Speaker 2: Yes, I do too, math, but if he doesn't, you know,
Speaker 2: that's just the way everything was meant to be.
Speaker 1: That's cold, Gene Simmons of Kiss. That's cold.
Speaker 2: And when the day finally happens when people go to
Speaker 2: kiss dot com and order anything, uh huh, still get
Speaker 2: one third off the price?
Speaker 1: Wow?
Speaker 2: Really, that's correct. We have to wait till he bites
Speaker 2: the big one.
Speaker 1: Okay, okay, all right, well, I do like to save money,
Speaker 1: but I but I do still hope that Ace recovers
Speaker 1: right new too, hmmm, are right, Geene, Simmons of Kiss.
Speaker 2: I have a good show man, all right, rocking and
Speaker 2: keep rolling.
Speaker 1: Thank you, Ray and Gina. I would just remind you, oh,
Speaker 1: never mind, Gene Simmons of Kiss. That's amazing. We haven't
Speaker 1: heard from Gina in a long time. Well, very good,
Speaker 1: very good. Well I do hope, uh, it sounds like
Speaker 1: he's doing great, and I hope Ace Freley recovers. Ace
Speaker 1: actually had to cancel the rest of his tour. He
Speaker 1: was on a tour that I think was supposed to
Speaker 1: go for the rest of the year, but he had
Speaker 1: to cancel the rest of his dates for twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1: So very very uh, very concerned for mister Freeley.
