Nobody wants Kanye West anymore | Matt Connnarton Unleashed
Speaker 1: Kanye's anti semitism definitely isn't flying in Europe. Prague the
Speaker 1: latest to shut down a YE show. Yeah, this is
Speaker 1: this is still following him his uh anti semitic comments,
Speaker 1: and I, you know, I wondered it was interesting to
Speaker 1: see how many people kind of you know, held it
Speaker 1: against him and how many people have kind of forgotten
Speaker 1: about it. I kind of get the impression that for
Speaker 1: some people, a certain amount of time has passed where
Speaker 1: they're able to look past some of the things that
Speaker 1: he's said. I think he came out one point saying,
Speaker 1: you know, look, I was on some medication that made
Speaker 1: me say these hateful things or whatever. I don't know.
Speaker 1: Kanye doesn't really apologize for much. But if you recall,
Speaker 1: he said some pretty awful and very anti Semitic things
Speaker 1: that anyone else that would have ruined their career. But
Speaker 1: Kanye West somehow has survived. But he's having some trouble
Speaker 1: here again. It's this is from Digital Musicnews dot com.
Speaker 1: The rapper formerly known as kan West will not be
Speaker 1: performing in Prague after the venue set to host him
Speaker 1: backed out. It's the latest canceled show for the outwardly
Speaker 1: anti Semitic artist Kanye West, who now goes by Ye,
Speaker 1: was set to perform in Prague as part of his
Speaker 1: proposed comeback tour, but the show has been canceled after
Speaker 1: the venue set to host him backed out. That makes
Speaker 1: the latest country to say no to the noted anti
Speaker 1: Semitic rapper. By the way, before anyone says, well, what
Speaker 1: about his First Amendment rights, well it's Prague. It's not
Speaker 1: the United States. They don't care about our constitution, so
Speaker 1: don't even buy I just only I mean that should
Speaker 1: be obvious to most people, but I just know there's
Speaker 1: going to be somebody out there listening going, ooh, what
Speaker 1: for Amendment? Yeah, it's a different country. Relax. Organized by
Speaker 1: Slovak producer Hugo Varga, the show was scheduled to take
Speaker 1: place on July twenty five at a horse track. It
Speaker 1: was canceled by venue owner Zuzana Rambova, who didn't cite
Speaker 1: a specific reason for the move, but confirmed that the
Speaker 1: arena quote terminated the organizer's contract. Notably, Varga was one
Speaker 1: of the organizers of a Slovak rap festival scheduled for
Speaker 1: last summer, where Ye was also scheduled to perform, but
Speaker 1: local protests against the event, combined with logistics concerns, led
Speaker 1: to the rapper withdrawing from the lineup, and the festival
Speaker 1: was ultimately canceled. Varga defended Ye at the time, blaming
Speaker 1: the failure of the festival on financial regulations in asserting
Speaker 1: that the rapper shouldn't be barred from performing. Similarly, Rambova
Speaker 1: said that Ye should be free to perform despite his
Speaker 1: past anti Semitic remarks. The show in Prague is the
Speaker 1: latest in a series of canceled performances since Ye began
Speaker 1: publicly making anti Semitic statements. In April, the rapper was
Speaker 1: denied a visa to the UK for the Wireless Festival,
Speaker 1: where Ye was announced as a headliner. Ultimately, the entire
Speaker 1: event was scrapped. Just a week later, the rapper postponed
Speaker 1: a planned show in how Do You Say That, Marseilles
Speaker 1: after rumors that French authorities were looking to cancel it.
Speaker 1: Since then, shows in Poland, Italy and other countries have
Speaker 1: also been canceled, citing concerns over y ease anti semitism.
Speaker 1: The rapper successfully performed two shows in the Netherlands on
Speaker 1: June sixth and June eighth after the Dutch Deputy Prime
Speaker 1: Minister confirmed they investigated his past statements and found no
Speaker 1: and found insignificant legal grounds for borrowing him from the country.
Speaker 1: In late twenty twenty two, if you don't remember, he
Speaker 1: began making anti Semitic remarks on social media, which led
Speaker 1: to a deluge of cancelations from sponsors and business partners.
Speaker 1: By the way, he also went on the Alex Jones
Speaker 1: Show and declared his love for the Fear. If you
Speaker 1: don't remember, earlier this year, the rapper issued a full
Speaker 1: page public apology in The Wall Street Journal blaming his
Speaker 1: anti Semitic remarks on untreated bipolar disorder in a car
Speaker 1: accident he was in years ago. I'm skeptical in those moments,
Speaker 1: I forgot about the full page public apology. That may
Speaker 1: not have been enough, but that's hard to come back from.
