Speaker 6: Can't believe you want to Patty, No, but no, look eight no, no, I eleventh pound cake. I don't even eat that anymore. Although that lemon pound cake did look good in that video. Now, I will say Afroman's original hit Because I Got High does share something in common with Trouble at the Donut Shop by Ricky Mapleton in that they are, both, in my opinion, a cautionary tale. Oh absolutely absolutely, yes, yes, nice, yes, because things go awry for you in Trouble at the Donut Chess. Very insightful.
Speaker 9: That is based on a true experience.
Speaker 6: You shoplifted a donut that was.
Speaker 9: A little bit embellished. Yes, for the sake of conversation, yes, but.
Speaker 6: No, okay, artistic license.
Speaker 9: I think my mind, yes, I think my mind was there at the moment of seeing all was true up to the moment of stealing the donut. Okay, going there realizing that I was not going to get a donut because they were sold out was absolutely mind blowing, right, mind blowing right. But there I was face and on the way home as I went to a other donut shop, what's your thousands of them around and got their donuts with no, we're sold out.
Speaker 6: Okay I was, but it was disappointing. So you in your mind, you were you take me back to that moment in the mind and in your mind you're at the donut shop, and.
Speaker 9: Then well, let's backtrack a little, can we?
Speaker 10: Yeah?
Speaker 6: Yeah, please please okay?
Speaker 9: You know, happy uh person living with you, happy wife, happy life, happy Okay, So nice, Ricky Mapleton, carry nurturer off. I went on a Sunday morning. I'm gonna go get these awesome donuts that we had a while back. Don't need them all the time. Not super healthy for you, obviously, but do you have gluten free?
Speaker 6: There? I see where you're going. You're gonna blame this on your wife.
Speaker 9: No blanging on, miss blaming son. Ricky Mapleton caring nurture okay, and really not being tuned in to the hip place to get your donut. I mean, I guess like Queen. Remember was Queen's Donuts still around?
Speaker 6: I have no idea.
Speaker 9: They were big for a while. I was the big thing. Cupcakes Bill Bill sorry Queen City Cupcakes. Bills Donuts are still around. I see if you've heard I see the Bills Donuts sign right there.
Speaker 6: Legendary bills donuts.
Speaker 9: How do they compare with? Should I say this donut shops name?
Speaker 6: I think you can.
Speaker 9: It is New Hampshire Donut Company, okay, and they're in Bedford and I was first exposed to them at a event, and I'm like, these are fantastic donuts. Yes, we're fourth out though, And so I said, okay, I'm going to go get some. Went there, signed on the door. I was there at ten thirty eleven.
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Speaker 9: I looked in line and it was the cheap white inch cheap old paper plates. Yeah, stuck on the window. Where sold out?
Speaker 11: Wow?
Speaker 6: Yeah? Okay? So I walked up, beautiful day. How good this place is?
Speaker 9: Huh? They are fantastic? I mean they're not. Yeah, they're good. They're good. Are they stand in line? I just dedicated half an hour of my life getting there and then going back empty handed. No, no, but there is a happy ending to this, okay. Number one, it was a fantastic idea to start the donut chips on and it was the seed, the seed. And second, I did go back the week following week, but I went online, which was terrifying for me. But I went online and if you order them online before five o'clock, you can pick them up.
Speaker 9: You walk in the door, around the side, and you get them. So that was the plan of action. I did have my wife, of course, helped me through the quagmire that is online ordering. Yes, the beautiful word quagmire. Yes, the quagmire von Blagmire. So I it was my favorite family character.
Speaker 6: I'm not going to do a quagmire. Yeah.
Speaker 9: So that's the story of the Donut Shop. It really I think it's really it's really fun. It's really upbeat, donuts, a yummy and now we have I think that project was called Celebrating the Donut twenty four songs Celebrating the Donut Too Bad.
Speaker 6: I don't even know the title of that CD.
Speaker 9: But there's a big pink Simpsons sort of donut on the front cover. When you look at it ladies and gentlemen. So that has that, it has one donut, one song about twenty four other types of donuts.
Speaker 6: I have the actual title truble, thank You, Thank You, Trouble at the Donut Shop, two dozen songs celebrating the donut. Come on?
Speaker 9: Is that not not called warm and warm and yummy? That is warm on?
Speaker 6: Come on?
Speaker 9: So yeah, I did not get arrested on them on the way home. I was like I should. I wasn't impressed.
Speaker 6: But you fantasized at some point about stealing the donut.
Speaker 9: Clearly, I think we all have that quick flash of uh, I'm steal these donuts? Yeah, yeah, how what Then of course reality sets in. Yeah, and not wanting to be the old guy stealing donuts set New Hampshire Donut Company.
Speaker 6: M yum yum.
Speaker 9: Right, So yeah, that's the and then now we have other songs about donuts on that. And that was the last the project before the bread Man of bread Time story, which is all kind of connected in Flour in its own particular way.
Speaker 6: I yes, yes.
Speaker 9: This, this last couple, this last six to eight months has been very entertainment entertainment wise, revolving around baked goods such as donuts, bread rolls, so.
Speaker 6: A lot of gluten.
Speaker 9: I feel like, well, they do have a gluten donut at New Hampshire Donut Company, and I just would like to give them a quick word of advice if I could. When you go in there, they have these beautiful display that you choose from a cream and they look fantas behind this nice little guard. Then they have the poor little gluten free guy and it looks like half the size. Super sad. It's like, why don't you just make that big too. I know it's more money for that flower, but make it this big as that give you know, there's gluten free and then and then there's a vegan free, and they're both just made with different types of flour, which does give challenges when you're baking a donut.
Speaker 9: You have to use something called cilium husk and you have to use some other things to hold a donut together, so usually it's not as fluffy and delicious. But the small little donut when I went in there. You go in there and go look at that small little gluten free and that's the one that I usually get. So I eat it on the way home and I'm not feeling really bloated. When I get home, I just ate. But then of course I'll have a piece of the Boston Cream, my favorite.
Speaker 6: Oh my god. Yeah, so yeah that's the well, very good. Yeah. Donut, donut, donut. We'll have to listen to some of those. Oh, we do have a call though. Let's see us on the line.
Speaker 12: Matt Goton, Ricky Mapleton, happy Saturday morning, and wow, thank you for really this is exciting to be on. We here at the community are thrilled that you are having us on today. We first of all, if you could play someday I'm going to live in the castle on the new Ricky Mapleton.

Speaker 9: Yes, this is from the project called The bread Man, a bread Time Story. The beauty about this is we made this. Uh with narration before each song, and I really feel it sets things up. It's uh my, uh boy, I'm gonna step on some hollow ground, but it's my twenty one twelve, my, my, my Tommy, my quadrophenia. While uh with of course everybody that helped me with it. Speaker 9: Yes, we all have dreams, yes, pretty much what that song is about we all, we all aspire to something.
Speaker 9: Ricky Mapleton's speechless. I've heard that a million times, but I'm really kind of I hope everybody's kind of right there.
Speaker 6: Wow, I hope. So if you are just joining us, Ricky Mapleton is here of course, and uh we are featuring also some songs from Trouble at the Donut Shop, two dozen songs celebrating the Donut because, uh, this is something that you would released uh a little bit ago back in December, but we never really got a chance to feature it within the year.
Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's right, fun, whimsical, happy songs about donut right and Ricky Mapleton's wheelhouse. I'd love happy, I love snappy, I love just fun stuff. Fun stuff. And then of course we have The bread Man, which is a mind bending.
Speaker 6: Story.
Speaker 9: Yeah, so I went quite It's been quite a great year. And I think someday we live in the castle. Someday we all have to if we if we focus on something, It's hard to do in today's world, isn't you know, to focus creatively, whether you're building a car, or you're making donuts or your whatever. Yeah, well, I'm sorry, I'm getting a little bit. That's what I'm looking for. I'm choked up on a donut. I guess, I guess, so, I guess so yeah, so yeah. Speaker 6: The Donut Okay, we're gonna shift gears. Two dozen songs, OKAYK goodness. One of these is called maple bacon Donut. Now I've never had a macon maple bacon donut, but that that actually sounds disgusting to me. H, maple bacon.
Speaker 9: You got your sweet and savory grumble platter, Oh, maple bacon, maple bacon bacon.
Speaker 6: I haven't heard this song. I don't know the uh.
Speaker 9: Yeah, you want to just touch base on a few of them and not go through the whole song. If they're not super well, I shouldn't say that about my music. I'm sorry.
Speaker 6: I'm curious to play this one because I'm wondering if it can convince me. Because to me, the idea of a maple bacon donut sounds disgusting. But I'm wondering if the song will kind of convince me that it's something that could be delicious. That is a great segue. Let's find out. All right, all right, let's give this a spin. We'll see. This is called the maple Bacon donut Song.
Speaker 5: Babe boo bag and.

Will you when you go to krispy Kreme, I don't know if you've ever been to one the a krispy Kreme factory. You go there like you would go to a Dunkin Donuts, and you can see the donuts being on the conveyor bell and you get what's called a hot one right off and only happened between I don't know five am and ten when they're making them. Speaker 18: I like that.
Speaker 9: It was about two years ago that came up, but I just loved that heaviness of that. Yeah, yeah, I get that nice Fender Precision sound and that's what I really lived for that.

Speaker 6: That's right, we do. We do have another call here. Let's see what's online here.
Speaker 10: Good morning, Matt Connerton and Ricky Mapleton. This is Tom toming I am sitting here having some whole weet toast with a jelly and a little bit of peanut butter, and I decided to call in and see if you would be kind enough to play a song called what About Me from a bread time story. I think it would definitely set the tone, and perhaps I might risk it and have a bagel. Oh, don't be silly, all right, Thank you very much, mister Connaton.

Speaker 9: Well, I strive they know they know, yeah we we I didn't meet all of them at one time last summer we got together okay at Applebee's. Oh really, yes, common ground?
Speaker 6: Have they been in your pool?
Speaker 7: No?
Speaker 6: Okay, no, no, but uh.
Speaker 9: Well I guess technic if I if you really want to think about it, they've all they've all been in my pool fair enough, if you know what I'm saying. Yes, yes, well we don't want to break the fourth wall. Yes, I think we What is that called in wrestling when you when you o k fob k fabe, k fabe. So we're doing kind of a am I is that what I'm kind of doing?
Speaker 2: A k fabe?
Speaker 6: Well, we don't want to break k fab do what I'm saying. I'm ready to come clean. No, don't do that. Wow, this is intense man.
Speaker 9: You know you don't set up a bit just to ruin it. So yes, wow, So yes that's what John Hopwood you say. Maybe you do when I was on Afternoons coming in and just ruined the bit. So yeah, to answer your question, yes, all my all, the all our friends and Collins have technically been in my pool.
Speaker 6: Okay, we'll leave it at that. Well, we'll leave it at that, so we should play this. This is so The actual title is Drunk and Disillusion yes, what about me?
Speaker 9: Okay, So this is later on in the Operator. This is during scene two. This is from the bread Man the bread Man, Yes, what has happened now? Is the bread Man who we were introduced to as a young child earlier in the show, Yes, who gets beat by bread by his dad the bag and and ends up having a trist or a relationship with the princess who comes down and gets bread. And now years later he's made it into the key due to a lot of different murders and there's a lot of stuff going on. But he eventually ends up living in the castle as the not new King, but moves in with the princess once they have kind of how do I How they got rid of the queen the prince, Yes, due to poison bread and everything else that goes along with it.
Speaker 9: Now he's looking at what he's created, and since the princess, who now is the queen's getting all the attention, he's disillusioned. I guess it's a great way of saying it. And as he looks kind of into himself during this portion of the play, all right, very good.
Speaker 6: This is called Drunken Disillusioned What about Me? By Ricky Mapleton from The bread Man a bread Time Story.
Speaker 14: With the death of the King, the princess becomes the Queen. She's in charge, and everyone seems to be respecting the queen, and really the bread Man is in the back of the scenes. Nobody's really paying attention to the bread Man. He's getting a little frustrated that even the queen is not taking his advice. He's become jealous and he's losing affection for the queen.
Speaker 11: Queen.
Speaker 14: The bread Man stares into the mirror. He looks at himself, perplexed, wondering why the queen is getting so much attention and none for him.
Speaker 15: No real beautiful, every one gaincy, I'm.
Speaker 4: No real beautiful? What about me? What about me?
Speaker 18: What about about me?
Speaker 11: What about me?
Speaker 22: What aboundy?
Speaker 16: What about me?
Speaker 4: What about me? I know a beautiful everyone can see yo, all beautiful? What about see? What a bouncy?
Speaker 11: What about me? What about me? What about me?
Speaker 6: What aboundy?
Speaker 5: What about me?
Speaker 11: What about abound.
Speaker 6: About It's very emotional songs.
Speaker 9: Yeah, there's a lot of emotion in The bread Man of bread Time Story. Yes, a lot of a lot of a lot of insight. Take it or you can take it from face value. It's just a fun, little, fun little play we did. But yeah, there's a lot of impactful things, and I just would like to thank again the amazing musicians that were all over this compilation. Is that a good word I'm saying compilation, compilation of songs, and there was I would say, it's twenty five musicians on here.
Speaker 24: Wow.
Speaker 9: But I rarely want to get a big shout out to Larry Holt, doctor Holton. Okay, and Larry Holton and Ryan Fitzpatrick or the big two that did this with me. Then we had all fabulous musicians come in and help out. You can tell the difference I would think of people listening, can tell the difference between the bread Time story versus some of my other stuff that may not be as layered but still fun. This is kind of a little adventure off into something a little different as far as Ereky Mapleton Galaxy of Stars.
Speaker 9: Yes, but I want to thank everybody, and my wife of course, who puts up with everything that I do so right right, so I got gotta plug her.
Speaker 6: Very good, very good. So we're running out of time? Should we hour ago? Should we play?
Speaker 9: Well?
Speaker 6: Okay, so I figured out what song Mellow Mike requested, Yes, Uh, someone sent me a message who was paying more attention than I was in the moment, So we'll play that. We'll play that one at the end of the segment. Should we play though, Uh? Just quickly? Should we play one more track from Trouble at the Donut Shop? Two dozen songs celebrating the donut?
Speaker 9: Will you seem to be very pro donut today? When I came in the studio, you were all a gleam. You had the gleam of a donut in your eye.
Speaker 6: Yes, and so.
Speaker 9: Whatever you would like to place her, I would be honored.
Speaker 6: Jenny said the same thing this morning. She said, you've got the gleam of a donut in your.
Speaker 9: Eye and a donut stick.
Speaker 6: But yes, but we we and we did go. We did stop at Duncan, But I didn't have a donut.
Speaker 9: Is it that something that we go to there for for drinks more than donuts? You with the name Duncan Donuts.
Speaker 6: In my case it was for a sausage and eggage. What are you thinking that let's protein need protein?
Speaker 9: How's your acid reflux?
Speaker 6: Fine? So far? Okay? Perky?
Speaker 9: Beating that you were after leafles go, I coming on your back hard and heavy.
Speaker 6: I did burp earlier. There is that's good to know. Thank you tell me about this. There's there's a song on here that stands out to me. The title stands out to me because it's unlike all the others. It's called us a number one? What an awesome country? Ducks in my pool?
Speaker 21: What is this?
Speaker 9: So here are some probably when I was doing the project has nothing to do with donuts. Usually, when you put out a project on a with a distributor, a someone that you distribute to your music, you might as well put out as many as many tracks as you can my theory, because you get X amount of tracks per submission if you would in the independent world of releasing music. So I always at least try to have And when all said and done, if I'm looking through the files, what's this?
Speaker 16: Yeah?
Speaker 9: Okay, yeah, this is This was done last summer as I was had a moment of clarity. Watch my plastic chlorine floater float around my small little pool. Yes, and uh, I said, what a great country we live in And I just kind of pop this. Can we listen to a second of it?
Speaker 4: Oh?
Speaker 20: Sure?
Speaker 9: Because to be honest with you, I don't know what it is. I kind of think I know what it is, but I'm not sure. Because Ricky Magnilton myself, I have about one thousand, three hundred songs for my good Lord, for my troop too, and my people that like to enjoy my music and can dig into.
Speaker 6: Well, here's the second of it.
Speaker 24: Oh the sound of yes. Yeah, you know what makes this country number one? It's my ducking the wool, having so much fun. Got a flag tick too, what's back? You would say, Hey, that's where it's that.
Speaker 4: You gotta work.
Speaker 19: Hard, keep it cool, jun't be no bodies fool.
Speaker 22: That's what maks us say.
Speaker 19: Number one, US say, just having some fun, got my duck in my pool, corting things that ain't nobody's fool because I'm keeping my boot clean.
Speaker 4: US say, USA, keeping my coreer.

Speaker 11: You loved ones.
Speaker 5: I'm living in the USA.
Speaker 6: Patriotic it is. I'm ready to invade the entire Middle East.
Speaker 9: So we get a little I like the fact that we're talking about spring. You seem right now, right, Yes, we got ducks in the pool. Yep, we gotta get out of my pool.
Speaker 6: Yeah. So I really feel that this is good. This is spring is almost here? Is that true? It's here officially, it is totally here.
Speaker 9: So this is our celebration. Yes, okay, so uh boy defended precision right there?
Speaker 6: Oh M love it. That's my one true love in music? Is the bass? Oh really? Yes? As a bass player, I certainly approved.
Speaker 9: Yes, absolutely, And I dabble in the bass on some of these songs, and I the base is just so so wonderful.
Speaker 6: Absolutely.
Speaker 9: Can I tell you a quick joke about yes, okay, there there's a guy on an island and he keeps hearing these drums in the background. He's he's on like fantasy island or a vacation island. Keeps hearing these drums. He goes up to the guy says, hey, what's all these drums? And the guy goes, you do not want those drums to stop, sir, bad, bad, bad. You guys say, here's that all night line goes up? He goes, what's up with these drums? You do not want these drums to stop? He goes, what happened to wing the drum stop?
Speaker 9: He goes, oh, very bad drums start based solo start.
Speaker 6: Come on, Uh, it's not a big lead up to that joke. That was a long way to drive. All right, we are almost out of time. Where should people go to keep up with everything that you're doing and get all their musics Go.
Speaker 9: To Ricky maple ten I am all over the place on Spotify, YouTube and all your other digital plaiform.
Speaker 6: Yes, yes, yes, yes, very good. Well, always a pleasure. This was kind of last minute, but so so glad to have you this morning. Always a good time. I really appreciate you having me on that. It's fun. Absolutely, we'll do it again. We should do it more often because you've got a lot of great stuff, very very good. So we'll close out the segment with say and do, because I think this is the one mellow Mike was trying to request.
Speaker 9: There's another emotional gut wrenchure to end with.
Speaker 6: And it's from of course the bread Man, A bread time story and if you are listening live on Saturday, of course stick around. Andrew Deevie is coming up next via WhatsApp all the way from the UK. But we will close out with this say and do from Ricky Mapleton. Thank you.
Speaker 14: Over time, the poison yeast begins to take its toll on all those who consume the royal bread. The poison quickly overtakes the Prince of yeast Land due to his bread gluttony, and he expires like stale, outdated bread. The servants find him on the floor diff is a week old bagette. The King himself too feels the effects of the poison yeast. However, due to his slight gluten allergies, he consumes bread only on special occasions, though over time he becomes frail. A funeral is held for the Prince, and the princess and the baker the bread man start sneaking off together more often.
Speaker 6: Rumors are abound. The princess and the bread.
Speaker 14: Man begin to spend a lot of time with each other, and they don't really care what other people think. At this point, the prince is dead and it's their time to be together.
Speaker 4: It doesn't really what this emboud me, and you doesn't really mad.
Speaker 11: Even in.
Speaker 4: A true we can have justice mom man.
Speaker 11: Again seen.
Speaker 4: Says due, save different.
Speaker 11: Z.
Speaker 4: It's so with all good fallach other.
Speaker 5: That we could have had.
Speaker 11: Been.
Speaker 4: People say down long together, but we can.
Speaker 5: Live by all the albums.
Speaker 11: Look up.
Speaker 16: Together mege.
Speaker 4: Said, said said say Due.
Speaker 16: Said said Dune.
Speaker 11: Said said du said.
Speaker 14: Things are really looking up for the Princess and the bread Man. It turns out that the bread Man's father has died and left a fortunate yeast to the bread Man. Where and how his father accumulated his vast scores of his only rumor at this point, but it is believed that when the bread Man was young, he sold off the baker boy's mother and gained a fortunate yeast. Granted this is only speculation regardless. In return for the Princess's hand in marriage, the bread Man offers the frail king a promise to supply all of Wheatland with his yeast import and export monopoly on the worldwide bread market.
Speaker 14: Of course, with recent death of the prince, the king has no choice but to accept, as he no longer has access to yeas from the Prince's family in Yeastland the king agrees to let them get married,
