Youtube vs. AI continues | Matt Connarton Unleashed
Speaker 1: Some YouTube news. YouTube reveals this is from music ally
Speaker 1: dot com. YouTube reveals latest changes to its AI content
Speaker 1: label system. This is something that you know could affect
Speaker 1: musicians and anybody who's creating content on YouTube, like the
Speaker 1: show for example, we stream on YouTube, says here. YouTube
Speaker 1: has been labeling AI generated videos since twenty twenty four
Speaker 1: if the creator's disclosed their use of AI tools when
Speaker 1: uploading it. Now, the company has made some changes to
Speaker 1: its labeling system. First, the labels will now be simpler
Speaker 1: and more prominent, shown directly below the video player for
Speaker 1: long form videos and as an overlay within YouTube shorts.
Speaker 1: The big change, though, is that YouTube is now using
Speaker 1: its own AI detection technology to spot videos that are
Speaker 1: AI generated. Oh good, but haven't been disclosed as such.
Speaker 1: I like this change, yeah, I mean yeah, it's I
Speaker 1: like this change. It makes sense. It does YouTube quote.
Speaker 1: If a creator does not specify whether or not they
Speaker 1: used AI, but our systems detect significant photorealistic AI use,
Speaker 1: we will now automatically apply labels unquote if the system
Speaker 1: falls flat, because this is something I always worry about
Speaker 1: people getting caught in the net who shouldn't be. If
Speaker 1: the system false flags of video the creator will be
Speaker 1: able to update its disclosure status in the YouTube studio
Speaker 1: dashboard unless they used YouTube's own AI tools, or their
Speaker 1: video includes metadata showing that it is fully generative generative AI.
Speaker 1: YouTube's added in its announcement quote it's important to note
Speaker 1: that it is a disclosure label alone does not change
Speaker 1: how a video is recommended or whether it's eligible to
Speaker 1: earn money unquote. Yeah. So part of why that's important
Speaker 1: for content creators on YouTube is if you you know,
Speaker 1: if your content is monetized or monetizable, you know, if
Speaker 1: it's fully AI generated, they're not going to let you
Speaker 1: monetize it. But there's a lot of things that you
Speaker 1: can't monetize on YouTube anyway.
