Speaker 14: Yeah, So, so what's been going on? So we h, it's been more than a year since you've been on the show with us. What's uh? But you've always got a lot going on. You know, you're you're a musician obviously, but you don't just release music you've got You're kind of a I think I refer to you as a multi what did I What did I say on Facebook? A multi media sensation something like that. So yeah, yeah, get us up to speed. What's been going on?

Speaker 21: Yeah, definitely another problem? So yeah, first, as you guys know, the album's already out. It's called Brando Meads on most of your platforms. Prior to that, I just got a book out which is called Going Too Soon. And as you know, the phone guys played last time that's based on that which is you know, losing a child and that sports and it's out now on Amazon's and basket. That's really all support that you guys can Prior to that, I'm also working on other film projects for next year. It's going to be like an uplifting, motivational kind of short film or dark film they call it.

Speaker 21: So be out sometimes soon next year, made by January. So also you guys getting an exclusive on the show as well. I will be releasing a single based upon me. My mother had passedway this year in May, and I wanted to do something and honored her. So I decided to work on a single which will be called Since You're Going Away, and that will be out make your ingent as well. So I'm working on a lot of projects.

Speaker 10: And that's with you.

Speaker 14: Yeah, that's the thing. Like I said, You've always got a lot going on at once. What Uh so, Yeah, sorry to hear about your mother, that's uh yeah, it makes me whenever I hear that, you know, it makes me kind of take stock and I, you know, realize how fortunate I am to to still have my parents. But was was she a big Was she a big influence on you growing up?

Speaker 9: Oh?

Speaker 21: Yes, she she played a huge role into the like disparation you can say, behind me and getting into the music and the passion behind that, and you know now that she's going I kind of like just really hits me home sometimes.

Speaker 14: Yeah, no doubt. The reason I'm curious about that is, you know, you you obviously you have a very impressive work ethic because you do so much. And I wonder if that's something that you got from her, or if that's something that you just kind of you know, sometimes not everything we get from our parents, So some things are just kind of the wiring in our brain is what it is for whatever, and then we just kind of go go in different directions. But I was just curious if that was something you got from her or from other family members.

Speaker 21: For the most part, I mean, my parents always show me, especially a young age, like to really work hard in which you've ben even go all the way, so they had somewhat of a pivotal role for that. But I think for the most part, I just think generally it's something that was a drive of mind that I really want to just do. I want to if I have to get something's gonna have to do with myself and doing it for many years. I was like, you know, I gotta go and do it because somebody will do it that way I do it.

Speaker 21: I was like, yeah, And you know, you seem like you said, the journey I think well to for many years and you know, just to see the amazing feedback of love beginning receiving from you know, yourself, you guys and other people, and it's just an amazing it's an amazing journey.

Speaker 6: Yeah.

Speaker 14: Absolutely, what is your uh? And by the way, I'm looking at your website by the way, and vero g music dot com. And you know, I'm curious because you know, a lot a lot of musicians listen to the show, a lot of industry people. How do you you know, what is your approach to kind of because you do have a lot going on and you're able to promote it all and get it all out there. Do you have a strategy that you use in terms of social media or marketing yourself? Like, I'm really interested in what your approaches to that because sometimes when someone has these various different creative outlets, it's hard to sort of disseminate that to the you know, to the public, you know, and build a fan base because they're not sure what to pay attention to, like what's what's your approach to marketing or if you have one and maybe you don't, maybe you just kind of put it all out there.

Speaker 14: I don't know, but you must be doing something right because you get a lot of you do get a lot of positive attention.

Speaker 17: Thank you.

Speaker 21: I appreciate that. No, I honestly, Matt, I think it's like Toronto error. That's how I learned from doing it for a good amount of years. Now I think it's from error and how I work, well, how do I do with the marketing and promotions is like like yourself. You know, I have for friends like you who are really like supportive and you know. I also I've been realizing that I've been using Facebook ads, which helps a whole lot now because you know, it's one thing is you as one person alone. You can't do it the only one person.

Speaker 21: You have so many things to do. You got to bamage your life and in your personal life, so it's like you just can't be to scare all day promoting promoting. So I realized that helps a whole lot with my marketing plan and my strategies with that and also just a word of all people putting out the word you know, hey, looks check her out what she's doing. And it's just just been amazing. It's been really supportive and it's been it's been an interesting situation.

Speaker 14: Do you enjoy that part of it because a lot of musicians don't like doing the you know, they'll do it, but they don't like doing that part of it, you know, the promotional part, or like you said using Facebook ads, I'm someone who it's all fascinating to me. You know, I'm a musician. I played in a lot of bands, but to me, like all aspects of the business have always been fascinating to me. So I'll do anything and I don't mind doing it because I actually enjoy it. Do you do you enjoy it? Or is or is that part the promotional part is something more you have to do, uh to get where you're going?

Speaker 21: Yeah, definitely. And you said youselt you're outimization, so you know more first time how hard it is to do and get yourself out there and people to pay attention to what you're doing. So I think we know by doing this now this is kind of like strategy with Facebook as or other ways of promoting yourself. I do have some way of enjoying doing it because it gets you to know, like people to know what they're paying attention or engaging with three YEARSIC or engaging or contacting you like hey, you know, I want to check yourself out or and it's that source.

Speaker 21: So it's it's and I thought about somebodys as well, like, you know, one thing we don't have anymore is so technology wise we're so focused on just putting on that's it. I'm just kind of go to school. I like to meet people, like just engage with them and get to know what they're like, you know, talk to them like your friends, your supporters, And we don't have that anymore and speed, so I mean we should.

Speaker 10: Have that more of it.

Speaker 14: Yeah, and tell me about a brand new me. This is Is this a album that you've released or is this an EP or what? What is this exactly?

Speaker 10: Yes?

Speaker 21: Yes, so this album is a full album. It has ten songs, and this is actually long way way. It's been a long way, like holding up like it's been a while. I finally get this album out and it's just this phenomenal doing music. As you guys heard of thanks for playing that, and it has other amazing tracks on their young Girl as a Lot, as lot of as a Body. He has a lot of great other songs in there, Big shots rats. But that's my producer for similar tracks on there, and all the producers have a chance to have, you know, worked on this album.

Speaker 21: But it's just been amazing to see the feedback on it and the title of brandomly the constable of that, it's pretty much of me skating like like you know, it's a new leaf, new chapter and it's a new way of looking at life differently.

Speaker 14: Lessen excellent, excellent. Did did you you mentioned delays in getting this done? I'm just curious, like what what what was holding things up?

Speaker 21: Yes, So one of the factors I was kind of going through it at the time before the Games I'm gonna release was the financial part. Is to say, because as you know, like being an independent artist, you don't really have a backing or support in essence to help you invest into your you know, your projects or anything in that nature. So with this I had to financially put all the money behind back on this project. And now I'm starting to appreciate the feedback and the love and support with this, which has been a long time coming.

Speaker 21: But it's just amazing to see now it's worth it.

Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, And there's so you said there's ten tracks on the album, correct, Yes, Now, were these all recorded in the same studio or did you kind of mix it up as far as what the process was.

Speaker 21: For the most part, Yes, it was at one particular studio. They shout out to Eddie. He was an amazing engineer on this project as well. And you know, it was just years in the making and this is something we've been doing this since last year's album and to finally getting completed and put it out there, it was just the journey was amazing. It's also it was small, but it.

Speaker 10: Was worth it.

Speaker 6: Yeah.

Speaker 14: And you learn a lot along the way with something like that, right, you know when when things i mean that's the thing when not not just in music, but in anything in life, when things don't necessarily go as quickly as you'd like or quite as planned, at least you learn you know as you're going what can what can hold you up, and what can what to prepare for and you know in the future and whatnot. So there's always learning involved, which is a good thing a silver lining and then once you come which and then what you come out with is uh is uh worth it?

Speaker 14: Did did you work with you mentioned a producer. Did you work with the same producer on all the tracks or did that change?

Speaker 5: Uh?

Speaker 21: No, No, I've been working for a good money years now and with this album, I think it was like two or three songs. He produced this artis me other producers I've worked with, also a new producers I work. Oh and you know the song is just you get just to hear the album, the sound is totally different, and when you hear the vocals, you see the growth in the vocals is totally like expand and it's just like a whole new Christian sound of Who I Am House.

Speaker 14: Okay, So it sounds like has your approach changed over the years, because it sounds like this is an evolution for you, which makes sense because that you know, the album is called the Brand New Me as as your approach in terms of singing as that specifically changed over the years, because you were talking about the vocals changing.

Speaker 21: Yes, yes, definitely, since you know when we're beginning, you know, my other projects are done. I don't just like I don't really discredit that because it's who I am, my journey. But I feel like this album particularly now that's all Now, I think it's really shown, uh, the the amount of growth, as they say, as me as in my artistry and my songwriting. And you could you definitely hear it, the difference in the change, but it's definitely more stronger.

Speaker 14: Yeah, so it sounds like you're more confident with it. Yeah, No, that that's that's great. And uh so we're gonna we're gonna close out in a moment. Speaker 14: I guess in the back of my mind I figured Boston because of the Bostones, But uh no, that's really although in some ways Portsmouth does look like Boston released parts of it too, But uh no, that's very cool, very cool. How long did it take? Was that one day just filming in different places or what went into that.

Speaker 13: It?

Speaker 10: Yeah, Well, we originally were gonna do it for at like like eleven or one or something like that, but it ended up raining that day, so we cut it back a little earlier.

Speaker 6: But we went.

Speaker 10: So we showed up in Portsmouth. We started at the parking Garage on the top floor. That's how we got like a nice shot of like the whole downtown in the top of the North Church and everything. And then we went to the streets, you know, like Congress Street and I think I Thinkaniel Street. Maybe we went to Daniel Street. But we went to this cool little toy store called g Willickers. Shout out to G Willickers Booking Toy in Portsmouth. Yeah, we played with some trains in there and stuff. They were really nice.

Speaker 10: It's actually where the original Slackers was, like in the day, that old that old skateboard shop. Okay, okay, by the same person, I guess. I mean, we found out a lot of cool stuff. They they came out and danced and they said we could use their shop. And we ended up in Prescott Park.

Speaker 13: You know.

Speaker 10: We tried to get all the all the fox you know, yeah, up in Portsmouth. I love Portsmouth. I didn't even know we were doing it in Portsmouth, but like everything about this whole song in video is like a holiday miracle come true.

Speaker 23: You know.

Speaker 14: Well that's what I'm curious about too, to ask you so How did this come about? You and Casey Darren of Soda collaborating on this and doing the Bostones cover?

Speaker 13: What? Like?

Speaker 14: What what went into that? How did this happen?

Speaker 10: So he's on tour with The Defiant right now. He works with them. That's Dicky from the Mighty Bosstones other band now And I I just when when I want to say, like, cause we were talking about this the other day, I was like, how the hell did we kind of get together? How did we end up talking? It was definitely through Instagram and I was checking out The Defiant and I think I think maybe I reached out through there or like we had maybe gone through like a post or we had both been from New Hampshire, both hardworking musicians from the area, both kind of like trying to work our way up, and we just we just started talking through dms.

Speaker 10: You know, That's how it happened. And you know, I actually the Defiant played with They played with me first in the Gimme Gimmes in Portland and Casey was the tour manager for that and he did the merch He does everything for them, I believe. And I got to meet him and you know, I handed on one of my records, and you know, we've just been talking. It's been almost a year we've been talking, but after I met him, we've been talking more. And I was just like, you know what, I want to do a Christmas song.

Speaker 10: I didn't have like solid plans to do this song. I just I was going up to North Conway where I am now. Actually I was coming up to North Conway to my friend Sean and Ryan studio by to push records and we and I just was like, you know what, I was going to do two songs. I was like, I'm going to do a Christmas song too, and the Mighty Bosstones one is my favorite Christmas song. It always is the first on my Christmas playlist ever since it came out. It's just like my kids love it. I tried. I just tried it in the studio.

Speaker 10: I did a scratch track of it, and I was like, hey, Casey, you know it. Do you want to play the horn gun? He said absolutely, so I pretty much just did the guitar, drums. I left all the background vocals empty. I left the horns all empty, and Casey did that cool solo in it too, So it was really a collaborative thing. You know, I recorded my part. I sent it to him, like I'd say, like three weekends ago. I recorded my part, sent it to him on the Monday. He had it done by Wednesday, sent it to my buddy Josh to mix it and master it, and it was done by the following Friday.

Speaker 10: So it really just fell together, piece by piece by piece perfectly.

Speaker 8: Yeah.

Speaker 14: No, that's fantastic and especially too, whereas you know, you kind of, you know, getting it out pretty close to the holiday, so you know, obviously the clock was ticking on that. So good for you for being able to get it done and get it out. And it sounds great, and like I said, I love the video too. Do you know if Dicky Barrett has heard it?

Speaker 10: I personally, having talked to Dicky in my brain, like in my mind like my dream world, he has heard it and he loved it. But I I don't know. The Mighty boss Stones have reposted it a couple of times.

Speaker 14: Oh okay, that's good. Then they then they they must like it, then that's good.

Speaker 10: I'm guessing he heard it. I'm hoping that he likes it. I'm hoping that it's all it's all good and they they love it, you know, Yeah, it's it really was an honor to do the song, and I just I hope I did it justice and you know, yeah, that's what it is. I'm It's all fairly like holiday chair, you know. I'm just really stoked that I got to do it. But I think he did. I think he has heard it. Yeah, yeah, and in my dream world he loved it.

Speaker 14: No, I'm sure he does. I'm sure he does. Uh have you been able to have you had a chance to play this live or or I don't know if I don't know if you intend to or.

Speaker 10: I have not got to play it live yet. But I am playing on the twentieth and Lowell at Codo and I'm playing the twenty second at O'Brien's in Austin, mass And those are my last two shows of twenty twenty four before I go to Germany in twenty twenty five, and we're gonna we're gonna put it in the set. I'm gonna add it into the set. I don't think Case is gonna come out and play the horn. Yeah maybe, I don't know.

Speaker 14: That'd be fantastic. Yeah. Uh, you mentioned Germany, So are you are you going to Abby touring over there.

Speaker 10: I am. I think like January fourteenth, we're gonna fly out and we're gonna play four shows that lead out to the school festival called puke Fest. We're gonna start out in Hamburg, We're gonna end up in Munster. I'm gonna play every day to it, and then Pukefest is actually sold out already two hundred tickets. It's pretty crazy. So it's small tour. It's like a week yeah, and it's me Lee and Jared were coming as a three piece. But it's my first time solo overseas, and I'm very excited about it. It's going to be a real fun time.

Speaker 14: Yeah, no doubt that festival is it's called puke Fest.

Speaker 10: Yeah, puke Fest, Okay, a lot of pop punk bands. Yeah. My buddy, my buddy actually from Wisconsin, is in a band called Jagger Hawley. He lives in Australia half the time. But so I don't know if they're considered the American band. I think I'm the only American band full fledged on this tour. But but yeah, we have a nice place to stay every night, you know, food every night. Yeah, it's gonna be a really cool time. You know, I'm really excited you've have.

Speaker 14: You been there before? You have toured in Europe before?

Speaker 6: Right? I have been to.

Speaker 10: Spain and I have been to I have been to the Netherlands before. I played Rotterdam in Amsterdam and Leon and Madrid. But I played with my friend Jeff Palmer's band. Uh so I've never done the Day of Strong band oh by myself yet.

Speaker 14: Oh okay, okay, very good, very good. Well that's awesome.

Speaker 10: This is very special to me because I get to play my songs over there.

Speaker 8: Yeah.

Speaker 14: Yeah, no, that's that's fantastic. Congratulations on that. Have you been Have you been playing a lot of shows here? Have you been not? Have you been busy since uh since we had you on last Yeah.

Speaker 10: Yeah, I've been doing a lot. I've been doing a lot of recording and I'm working on getting my second record out. I have been playing some shows here and there. I also play with my friend Brad's band, and we're playing with Marky Romone next weekend in Woodstock, New York. So yeah, I mean, I'm I'm I'm also playing with the River City Rebels. You know, a show just sold out at O'Brien's with Big d and the Kids table in April. So I'm keeping my my punk rock schedule pretty full.

Speaker 14: You are, Yeah, you got a lot going on. Oh that's uh, that's excellent. That's excellent. Um So, now, so after Germany, are you are you coming? Because you said you're working on your second record, right, so are you going to finish that or your second record as Dave Strongband?

Speaker 24: Is that?

Speaker 8: Is that what it is?

Speaker 10: Yep, it's all recorded.

Speaker 14: Oh, it's recorded.

Speaker 10: Okay, got to button it up, you know, do some do some cover art, and it'll be out on Fameless Records, the same label that put out my first full length.

Speaker 14: Oh cool.

Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm really excited about it. He's I think, I mean, I don't know exactly the details. It's definitely gonna happen. It is probably gonna be like one of the first releases of twenty twenty five. So okay, yeah, that's you know, Germany in twenty twenty five, my full length, second release in twenty twenty five, and you know, the future is possibilities are endless.

Speaker 14: I suppose yes, yes, absolutely no. It sounds like it's going to be a big year off to a great start, outstanding, outstanding.

Speaker 10: I'm excited.
